As I lay me down to sleep!

I will never forget the first time I saw this crib. My Mom and Dad were constantly asking me if I had decided what I wanted for Christmas? I am never the one to really have a "list" of things I want...I am just "easy" and happy with whatever I get.

But this one special Christmas...I had a special request. It was Thanksgiving holiday and Tyler and I were over at my parents house. I had printed out the picture of the crib off of the website and folded it up before coming over to their house. So, while we were sitting around talking and watching TV...I told my Mom that I had found what I wanted for Christmas. I handed the folded sheet of paper to her. As she opened it, the look on her face was priceless! She was very confused at first, but then with this surprised face she says "Is this a crib? Are you pregnant?!" So...needless to say, this crib holds alot of memories! This crib is how I told my Mom and Dad that I was going to be a Mommy and they were going to be Grandparents!

I was so nervous putting Alexis in her crib for the first time! She was just SO tiny in it! I remember just constantly checking on her for like the first two weeks to make sure she was okay in it! She did great in it and was a great sleeper! When she was big enough to stand up...she would chew on the top bar of it. Tyler had to put a piece of rubber barrier over it so she wouldnt break her little teeth off!

I was sad to "store" the crib once Alexis was old enough for her big girl bed, but I knew that someday soon there would be another little one that would put it back to good use!

Then came Lily! She was even smaller in it than Alexis! She really made me nervous being so tiny, but just like Alexis, she did great also! She was a great sleeper in it too! Needless to say, the crib had alot more "tough times" with Lily than with Alexis. There were several times I walked in and found poop accidents all over the poor crib with Lily! :) Lily never chewed on the bars though like Alexis did! So...I dont know which the poor crib liked better!?.....the pooping or chewing queens? :)

Today marked the day that the crib is no longer with us. :( My girls are now too big for the crib and since the baby department is done, we dont need it anymore. Even if it was just a crib...it brought so many happy and special memories for me!

A 'suite' weekend!

We have had a great week and weekend! The weather has been beautiful, and the Fall air is for sure 'in the air!':)

Tyler and I enjoyed yet another 'date' yesterday! Two weekends in a row! :) The girls enjoyed the day with Gran and Ben watching the movie Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2. {I know, what an interesting name for a movie!} Alexis said she had a great time....and Mom said Lily was good in the movie!  {I dont believe that she is actually telling the 'truth' though about that because I know how Lily does not like to sit still OR be quiet....} :)

Tyler and I enjoyed the JSU football game. We made it to the '5th' level, which was very nice! I got to see where Misty will be having her reception, which made me even more excited about her wedding coming up! :)  We enjoyed seeing who was was 'out and about' and enjoying 'adult' time! :) It was sad though that JSU lost.....by 1 point! :(

Check out the outfit!.......It is the same as what Alexis {below} wore! Alexis was around 14 months wearing this! :) Lily is wearing it and she is 24 months! {That just tells you how Alexis was a bigger baby than Lily! :)}

Pawpaw and Nan called us after Church and asked to meet us for lunch! It was a nice 'surprise!' While we were waiting on them, Lily played with her new friend! :) She was fascinated with this scarecrow! {I think because it was about the same size as she is!} She was holding its hand...and giving it hugs...and talking to him! :)

Just because it is Fall now...doesnt mean that we cant still have some yummy ice cream after we eat and let it feel like it is Summertime! :)
Alexis cracked Tyler and I up today after Church telling us what she did at Church this morning. She brought some money to Church to put in the offering plate that they do in Children's Church.
So when we got in the car, I asked her if she put her money in or if she forgot to do it.
 She said "Yes Mommy, I put my money in the offering plate {in an excited voice}....but I didnt put the golden coins in there because I wanted to keep them!"

Tyler and I started busting out laughing!
Tyler goes, "Well, Alexis you know that the other coins are "more expensive" than the golden coins {pennies} right?" And she says "I dont care, I like the golden ones better because they are shiny!" haha!! :)

Getting ready for Halloween! I love decorating for all Seasons...Holidays....etc! :)

Night night check list!

                                            I love our nightly rituals before bedtime!

Daddy and I divide...and try....to conquer each night when we are getting the girls ready for bed! :) I take Lily and get her PJs, etc on and Daddy works on Alexis and getting her teeth brushed PJs on, etc! Both girls have to have story time (Alexis has 1 book, Lily always wants 2 books or more read!) :)

Daddy has 'hair drying' duty! He is a pro! :)

Dance mixed with homework!

When bows are bigger than your head!

Nothing like living in the South...where little girls wear hair bows that are bigger than their little heads! I just dont know what I am going to do when that day comes when Alexis and Lily no longer allow me to have any input with the outfits they pick out! {Besides me telling them if they will or will not wear what they pick out!....I will always have the last say!} :)

But for now, I am enjoying picking out their cute outfits...and big hair bows! :) They havent complained any with what I choose, so they must think I have good taste! :)

Today was the first day Tyler and I had an afternoon date in a long time! After Church today....Tyler and I had a movie date! I cant even remember the last time we have been to a movie! It wasnt a "chick flick" but I enjoyed it none the less! :) It is good to have some quality time with my main man every now and then! :)

They were more interested ...and confused....about watching this bird than paying attention to me and trying to get a picture! :) It is hard to get them to cooperate A LOT of the time for a picture! :)

I am going to box her up and store her as my baby doll! :)

Go Auburn!

Football Saturday! We have had a rainy, dreary kind of day...and that is kind of how the AU vs LSU football game was also! :(

But, we still are having a great Saturday even with the rain and Auburn playing against LSU! Tyler had "Daddy duty" today since I had to proctor the ACT.  That was an experience and a long morning with having to start early! I enjoyed it though, and it was neat to see how the students worked out their answers as they did their tests! I only wish I knew what their scores are going to be! :)

We enjoyed great "football food" with Nan, Pawpaw and Brandi as we watched the first half of the Auburn game. Auburn has played well so far this season, but just not tonight against LSU.

The girls still shouted War Eagle and wore their Auburn cheer outfits proudly! :)

Alexis told me she wanted to do a "cheerleader" pose! Well....here it is! :)

Field trip Friday!

It is our favorite time again!...the weekend! We have had a great but busy week! I had to go to Georgia this week to a hospital for work, so recouping from that has been fun! :)

I am very proud of Alexis! She has had all smiley faces this week! She has not had any "uh~oh" faces! {Makes me very happy!!} Like my Dad use to always say..."You may not make all A's in school, but the one thing that you can do is sit there and be good and do what you are supposed to do!" I am trying to instill that into my girls! :)

Lily is SOOOO close to being fully potty~trained!! They tell me that she tells them all the time {a little too much I think!} :) that she needs to go potty! She has been really good here at home too. She has not pooped yet though! She cracks me up because she will come running up to me saying she needs to go "poo~poo!" So, she runs to the toilet and I put her on...only for her to "poot!!" She will then always tell me, I am done and get down! :)

Today Alexis had her first Kindergarten field trip! Pawpaw was a chaperone today with them! Boy, I think he got a work~out between all the places that they went and keeping up with Alexis and the rest of the group of kids! :) We are soo thankful for Pawpaw being able to go! Alexis was sooo excited that he came!

They went on a tour of the Jacksonville Square and then had lunch at the park. They toured the bank, the dance studio, the carwash, the Cupcake bakery, the Fire Station, Police Department, the Drug store, the Pizza parlor and the Clothes boutique! I asked Alexis what her favorite part of the field trip was.....and her response.....was going to the Clothes store! {I am not a bit surprised!!} :)  Alexis had a great time and said she cant wait for the next field trip! :)

Color day Thursday!

Today was yet again...COLOR day! :) If  you remember....it is Alexis' absolute favorite day of the week now! :)

Smarty Pants!

I am sooo proud of how well Alexis did on her Literacy Skills test! She is over the average of what she should be by December! I cant wait to see how her grades get higher when she is scored again!

Back in the saddle again..

Back in the saddle of Monday groove again! Oh we love the weekends....and they always fly by too fast!

Monday always flies around the corner and therefore meaning back to doing our weekly routine which consists of Monday Ballet class and then when we get home....homework! :)

The girls actually really love to learn and do their "homework!" Alexis is having more and more with her in Kindergarten now....but Lily thinks she needs her "hucwork" to do too!  {I attempted to try and spell how Lily says homework!} :)

Lily is for sure going to be a lefty....as you can tell in the picture! I dont know who she gets that from because I dont know anyone in our family who is a lefty. I just hope that it isnt hard for her to learn things as she gets older because everything is geared toward right handed people. She is so smart though...so I am sure she will adjust just fine! :)

Dove Sunday

We are enjoying our afternoon of it being just us girls...while Daddy and his friend Ryan "try" and shoot Dove! :) We shall see if Tyler shoots more than one this time! :)

Saturday....oh the great day of Saturday. Fall is for sure in the air...and it is Game Day!!! :) WWAAARRRR EAGLE! :) We are on the Gus Bus....and ready for some football!

We had a busy day today! Alexis had her make up dance day due to having to miss because of Labor Day Monday so we loaded up and headed down to Oxford for our traditional  Saturday morning breakfast at Cracker Barrel! It never disappoints! :) We did some shopping before heading home for the long awaited afternoon naps!

We woke up from naps and got ready just in time for the Grogans to cook~out with us! We had a great time watching Auburn BEAT Mississippi State 24-20!! Auburn had a rough season last year...but this year we are back! It was a nail biting game! We all had a great time until meltdowns started because it was bed time! :)

This is how we do football Saturdays! Nothing better than having a TV to watch the game outside...and inside! :) As well as having friends over and enjoying the smell of hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill!!

As well as enjoying 7 layer dip! It is the definition of "football Saturday" food!!

YAYY!! Today is Friday! We have had a great week..and we are ready for the weekend!!

I had lunch with Alexis today at her school! She was SO excited that I came! It made my heart smile to see her so happy to see me and want me to sit by her! I wonder what age that it starts when kids become "embarrassed" by their parents and dont want to be seen with them?! I hope that time is a long time away for Alexis because I enjoyed eating lunch with her so much and seeing her so excited to have me there! :)

Alexis is just growing up WAY toooo fast! In the mornings now {when I drop her off in the car rider's line} ...at the start of Kindergarten she looked so nervous and scared when she would leave my car and have to walk to Mrs. Pollard's room.  She would look back at me in the car every few steps just to make sure that I was still there. Well, now...she is just so confident and just bee bops on down the catwalk with her big bookbag on and her hair just a swinging back and forth. She doesnt even look back at me anymore! She has become so much more confident and grown! :) As I watch her walk further and further away from my car each morning... it just makes me want to tear up every time as I realize that my baby girl is growing up and will be out on her own before I know it!

Big girl is 2!

I will never forget the afternoon that I had Lily! It was an experience like nothing I had ever known! She came into this world when she was good and ready....and to this day, she does everything on her on terms! :) She is the most squeezable, lovable, and just fun little girl (with a determination and seriousness about her too!)  I am sooo blessed and honored that God chose me to be her Mommy! I am so thankful for her! :) Lily Grace Law....happy birthday! :)
