Wordless on a Monday instead!

Found this and thought I would do Wordless Wednesday a day early since I have my computer out, doing some work (yes, it is Thanksgiving break, but there are still student issues and questions that I feel need to be handled sooner than later due to them trying to prepare for the upcoming semester-that approaches SUPER quick!) so here you go, Wordless Monday! :)

So far into Tgiving week!

 So, not going to lie..............

Tyler and I are happy....we have two days to ourselves! :) The girls have school so they are learning and loving school while today was an absolutely beautiful day and we took advantage of it by hiking, shopping and having a great lunch together! It was much needed and a great time!

We did...n't......... miss the girls but happy they were growing brain cells at school! :)

I will NEVER claim to be a good selfie taker! ha!

Do you see a trail? Because I do not! ha! Tyler knows the trails like the back of his hand so I am very thankful he knew where he was going because WHEW, it was tough!

But a beautiful day, fresh air....................and this view! And....for sure got our steps in for the day!

Senior basketball season is HERE

Just like that.....Senior year football season is done and now we are moving, full STEAM, towards basketball!

Alexis kicked off the season with the first home game Friday night against our alma mater, SAKS!

Jacksonville girls and the boys team looked great and had big wins! It was fun to watch both teams and see Alexis in action!

A great way to kick off our Thanksgiving weekend/week break!

Love our Senior. Their new basketball jersey outfits looked so cute too!

READY for some wins!

This was the first year to allow girls to try out for just basketball. There was a huge turnout and now a big squad!

There she is!

The rest of the weekend!

I finished up some MORE Christmas decorating and even wrapped a couple of gifts!

WHOO HOO! ha!

Meanwhile, we threw in a JAX State WIN and a Friendsgiving with all the other things like Church, etc too!

It was a full weekend!

Alexis enjoyed the suite life!

With some of her long time friends!

I mean, this was just YESTERDAY with WK!

And then Lily was busy with her best friends!

Last game ever

Alexis officially had her last football game, ever, Friday night.

It was a perfection of a night for a game and it was a good one, too, even though they did not come out with a win.

The atmosphere was great and we could not have asked for a better ending of her Senior season with a home game too!

Lily and her crew!

The theme was white out...................and red, white and blue. WHO knows, but the student section was great and Lily loved it! You can see her in the top right of the picture!

And we are here. Her last time on the field!

It has been a great ride watching her shine and doing what she loves!

 WOW, it got here fast!

Picking out Senior quotes, and Senior drape picture and baby picture for the yearbook!...........it is here!

She picked this one for her yearbook baby picture!

SO adorable!

And, I remember taking this picture and like it was yesterday!

To make my DAY post!

To say I am posting this TODAY.............has made my DAY! :)

So Lily is our child, that loves Christmas (let me say) BUT refuses to put up the tree until after Thanksgiving...all the things.

I have NO idea where she gets it from!

She is such a 'black and white' person so if 'they' say.............Christmas needs to wait until Thanksgiving, then that is what happens.

SO, to my SHOCK this morning.........

she comes walking in my bathroom with a Christmas sweatshirt on!

I thought it was a joke (at first) but she informed me that she wanted to be 'festive' today!

The Lord woke her up and she saw the light............and put all the holly, jolly spirit in her!

SO.............

what did I do.....

you ask..........

I took a picture of her in front of our tree! (and she didnt huff or puff about it and smiled!) :) The Lord is working! ha!

AND.....

on the way to school.......

we blasted Christmas music and we sang the whole way!

My day is MADE!

The rest of our weekend!

So, ended up having Monday and Tuesday off since Alexis had another cheer competition so it called for another trek to Bham. Then Tuesday they were out for Veteran's day!

So, we soaked up more fun and all the things!

I didnt get a single picture but this one on Monday! BOO!
Tyler and Lily went with me on Monday since it was Alexis' last competition.....(just wow!) Alexis took the bus so we had lunch and then hit the competition! Lily was excited Kelby was there because a lot of the students came (because they got to miss school).

We yelled for Alexis and the team! They placed 5th in State! So proud of them!

We got Lex and then Jey rode with us, home, after we all enjoyed Cava (a delicious restaurant!) It made for a long day, but a good one!

Tuesday, Lex got to have a little fun with Cocky!

And then Lily got to have fun with P!

These two crack me up! Never know what they will be up to! They laughed and played games all afternoon! I cooked dinner, P ate with us and then she decided it was time to head home! ha!

Regionals cheer in Bham with a Nannie visit!

Always love an excuse to go to Birmingham!

Saturday Lex and I, along with KeAsiah, headed to a 'fun' lunch and then we visited Nannie for a bit before having to get to the Complex for the competition!

It was a beautiful but cold day to be out and about but we had fun!

I prewarned KeAsiah, and Nannie did not disappoint! You just never know what topic she'll discuss or what! Yeah....

We enjoyed seeing her apartment and having lunch (while she ate) with her!

Regional Division winners! They have worked so hard!

Divide and conquer!

So Tyler headed to Cullman and I headed to Birmingham on Saturday.

I hated to miss Lily's last Cross Country meet but Alexis had her big Regionals tournament so we had to split.

Lily ran her last run of the season and the team (and the boy's) both making it to State was a big deal! The girls placed 9th in State and the boys, 11th!

Proud of them for the great season!

Proud of this team!

Crossing that line!

BUSY busy times!

Whew, we have thrown a lot into a short amount of time!

Friday night was a HUGE win in the Regional play for the football team so they now advance to Round 2 this Friday!

Excited that it is a HOME game even though not looking forward to the cold! But, if the season ends (because the other team is undefeated and 'really good') then at least it was a home game to be the last game for Alexis!

Our Senior, another memory!

Alexis had another Senior memory and doesnt she just look so cute!

She worked so hard on her Senior outfit!

Working on her Senior crown. She literally glued soooo many pearls!

Showing it off!

She didnt put the crown on with the outfit picture............but the crown went with her Senior shirt and then her Senior jeans that she worked hard on painting!

Life lately with 2 funerals and a celebration

Sometimes life isnt all roses and sunshine and that is okay because we are not in a perfect world so it is expected.

So, this week has been a busy one.

2 funerals and a celebration.

We just dont know God's plan and we just have to have faith and keep putting one foot in front of the other even when youre in celebration mode or having to attend 2 funerals.

Tyler and I got to celebrate JAX State's 10,000 students event. It was nice with music, food, games, etc!

It was good to see co-workers from across campus that I dont get to see so often due to where my office is and celebrate a big milestone for JAX State.

Of course a picture with Cocky!

And then the next day..........you know, celebrate one day and then the next, you just never know....

we had to celebrate the life of Bobbie. We all loved her and will miss her happy and caring spirit. But OH to hear Cindi tell about her passing, gave me chills and made me smile to know that she was ready to go Home! As hard as it is to not have her in life here, to know how she is celebrating and with Melvin and everyone, there, is something to smile about.

Then Tyler and I headed over to Mr. Miles' visitation. I did not know him personally but his son and his wife are very near and dear to Tyler and I so we, of course, had to go pay our respects. This is another testament to hearing his passing and knowing he was surrounded by family and went peacefully and now is through the gates of Heaven rejoicing.

I pray that when it is my time to walk through those gates, that I have lived a fulfilled life like both Bobbie and Mr. Miles. I have no doubt, their judgement day was a testament of what and how we knew them and their rewards in Heaven, right now, reflect that!

Oh what a wonderful thought!

Our first 5K together!

So, bright and early....ready for a 5k after a long and full Halloween night!

I mean, Tyler did it. I was like....WHAT...when he signed us up! ha!

Lily actually bailed this morning stating the fact.............or should I say...........her fact, that she didnt 'prep' and wasnt fully told it was this morning....

so .......whatever, Tyler and I did!

He actually ran with me the whole time until the back end of it and I told him it was fine to go on without me! ha!

He placed first male!

He has gotten so good at running!

I have to say, I havent ran....................in like a year! My last 5k was a long time ago.

But...

I did it!

I didnt die...though I did think a couple of times that I would! ha!

Tyler...the (drill sergeant....motivator) :) pushed me along and I have to say, I would have walked more if he wasnt with me. I picked it up and did a 31.23!

So proud of myself! ha!

So, it was a nice morning of doing this for the first time together!

And...yeah, the head band and all the warm clothes came off before we even ran because it was so beautiful outside! I would have died if I left the thermals on I had under. WHEW!

Photo guy got us about to cross the sidewalk...in action!

Halloween!

BOY, we had a FULL day of Cross Country and then gearing up for ALL the Halloween fun!

We had a great night!

The weather was perfect, the crowd was busy but not overwhelming...and we had a house FULL of fun!

Food, laughs, and memories!

She was READY and SO excited about it all!

These two helped set up!

This crew was hungry before all the fun!

I mean...Dolly! Just too funny!

Best friends forever!

Just like us! :)

This crew...and I didnt even get the whole gang were ready for a night of fun!

Lily's crew!

Some of the Mom's! We had all the families over, it was a ton of people but perfect!

We ate, laughed, and watched all the action!

This big crew was Lily's group! The boys and the girls 'switched places!' Meaning the girls were super heros (like boys dress up like) and the boys were unicorns (like the girls dress up like) (well except Peyton, he refused to be a unicorn!_ :)

This whole group......and more, spent the rest of the night in our basement hanging out and having fun to cap off the spooky night!

Alexis decided to stay in and enjoyed different friends popping over to say hi throughout the night! She has a big Halloween party, tonight, and as I type this...at 7:30, she still has not left yet. (Just shake my head)

And I me, and Tyler picture!

The fast forward to the night after Halloween, Alexis and her friends. She made the cutest Halloween sign too for it!
Fun memories made!
