NO truer words!

Just yesterday Tyler said pretty much these EXACT words to Alexis!

She comes walking into the kitchen with a tank top on, short shorts and NO socks and starts complaining that it is cold in the house and that we need to cut the heat on!

Well, ya know, it is that time to where, yeah the heat does need to start coming on...........boo!

But Tyler says pretty much THIS............

then I see this meme about it and died laughing as I sent it to him!

To which his reply was.........'too funny, that is what I said to Alexis!' ha!

Lily's last Cross Country practice!

On their last regular season Cross Country practice, they always do a 'lucky rock' and 'branch' practice!

They all run to this really pretty area and get a 'lucky' rock from the creek and then they all decide on a tree branch...and bring it all back to the school!

So, yesterday, that was it!

The only ones left...are the Sectional crew now!

Lily loves her Cross Country friends!

The team!

Lily also loves this tradition for the last practice. She is a 'traditions' girl and this is one of her favorites!

And the branch!

Halloween dress up day at school!

I have no idea what Alexis will do/dress up as today for school.....

heck, I could barely get her to speak to me this morning when I was trying to get her to talk before I left for work! :)

But, I got this fun picture of Lily and her crew!

Pumpkin carving time!

ALWAYS one of our FAVORITE things to do!

We went to the JSU Caf's Halloween dinner and then came home and did our pumpkins!

Always a fun night!

They actually dove right in and didnt need any help this year! They are pros now!

They came up with what they wanted and tacked it!  We played Halloween music...shut the garage door because...baby...it is COLD outside and was raining too!

Finished products!

And, wasnt this just yesterday!?!?! Both girls.........not loving getting their hands dirty while doing the pumpkins! ha!

Then this one...did a back side too! A 'J'..............yeah..........

so back story....

we go to the JSU Caf most Sundays after Church and then at least once during the week. It seems like every.single.time. we are in there...this certain JSU Cross Country player (and his friends) are in there also.

Well.............

when I say..........

Lily has the BIGGEST crush on this guy. I mean...OH my goodness she goes crazy when he walks in...constantly talks about him.....stares at him..................

Well, just yesterday, she decided to look him up on the Cross Country website...and found his name.

She also loves that he has a British  accent..........(because she has heard him talking to his friends and he walks around...not because he has talked to her........or knows she even exists in the world) :)

So, she put a 'J' on her pumpkin....in honor of him.

She literally told Tyler and me today...that when she turns 18...she is going to date him and we cant say no....

because right now, we are like...stop, he is way too old for you! (we dont even know how old he is...but he is a Sophomore at JSU)..........

so....

gracious....

this girl!

And...for records sake, this is him! ha! He is cute, I have to admit and seems like a good kid (solely based on seeing him with his food at the caf!) :) ha!

Also, we googled...Spain (where he is from) and yeah, talk about rich and money and deep in history. (and he seems like he comes from a well off upbringing....)

gracious, I am acting like Lily has a chance one day! ha! :)

Such a serious topic!

 Every 6 months..........

the Law home.................

gets REALLY.................

serious.

Like, seriously I just cant get over my two girls when it comes to measuring them in the basement!

It cracks me up!

We have measured them..............since they could walk.

Each 6 months, they take it so seriously on how straight their backs are, how someone is standing up too straight, if someone hasnt grown as much as they think they should or whatever!

Lily was mad at us because we measured them in the afternoon because PER HER, we are taller in the mornings so we should have done it then, to get the correct height! OH me, this girl!

So, this time around...................

I dont know what happened....

but Alexis shrunk by an inch!

OH my goodness Tyler and Lily just ate that up.

Alexis did NOT think it was funny!

Then she remeasured and.....

she was just at (maybe a little under) what she was the last time we did it.

So, it is official, I dont see Alexis growing anymore. Which is fine because she is standing at 5 feet 4 inches! So, thats pretty good!

Lily, well, she is an inch shorter. She grew right at an inch from last time.

So, she still has some time to go!

I mean, look at this DEEP concentration and zoned in on making sure with her! CRACKS me up!

This one thought she would be funny when I took her picture. For it to back fire and mess Tyler up with his measuring...and she shrunk!!

Then....the re-do and the seriousness was back! ha! I mean, these two dont even take a breath! ha!

Wordless Wednesday as a throwback for Halloween!

 I mean...

no words..........

I do feel like this was yesterday.....

I am, for sure, in all my 'feels' that time is just flying as things are coming to an 'end' for Alexis with it being her Senior year! I distinctly remember this year, as Lily was SO excited to be a Princess and Alexis wanted to be a 'Girl Ghost!' When I brought home those eyelash eyes to make her a 'girl ghost' she was SO super excited!

And then this little sleepy baby cat! I feel like this was just yesterday too! Sweet baby Lily!

Busy week with our two JHS STARS!

AHHH!! They are both on the Golden Eagle Media post this week!

LOVE!

Tyler's first trail run!

 He CRUSHED it!

I mean, 43 and out there running 9 1/2 miles on a trial! Through branches and sticks, stumps, you name it.

He was 4th in his age division and 25 out of 69 runners!

SO proud of him!

SO proud of Lily and I because while we supported him, we froze! ha! It was SO windy too! Whew, I dont know how he did it because we were miserable and we were not running! ha!

We enjoyed warming up and a great lunch to celebrate how well he did!

The flag was huge and so beautiful blowing in the wind! He had to get a picture by it!

My guy!

They put on a great event! So nice!

They were all ready to go!

And they were off!

WHOOO HOOO!

Way to GO!

He did it! Medal in hand!..............or around neck! ha!

His number one fan said she wanted to go when we just knew she wouldnt want to get up so early and in the cold!

Halloween fun!

I love this time of year! All the fun, seasonal, things!

My girls loves it all too!

Lily had a Halloween bonfire/birthday get together with friends!

The cheerleaders got together and had a fun dinner and then drew names and painted each other! TOO funny!

They had a great time painting the pumpkins like the person they drew!

Alexis and her twin pumpkin!

Such a fun idea and Alexis loved this!
Meanwhile we headed to the JAX State Fall Fest and Lily was excited to run into Reese!

A throwback for you!

I love a good throwback and especially when it is around my favorite seasons!

Look how light Lily's hair color was! And just as sassy then as she is now!

Weekday happenings!

My monthly book club night happened this week and I wanted to share a book called Theo of Golden because the book was a great one!

Dinner and chatting with this crew was great also!

Charlene's home was gorgeous, food was amazing and it was so nice to have all of us to enjoy talking about a great book!

County meet!

This morning kicked off the Calhoun County Cross Country meet!

Lily had a GREAT run and felt good and all the things today!

She is now gearing up for Sectionals!

LOVE, love, love seeing her coming up!

Doing her thing...with pink hair this time too!

Didnt get many pictures today but snagged this one of our two runners in the family!

Both the boys and girls did great!

Just HIM and I!

Ya know, it has been 20 years. 25 together.

Not every day is easy. Not every day I like him. Several times a week, I look at him and say........'Wow, really' (or something along those lines :) ) when it comes to something he has said, or done, or acted, or whatever.

We dont see 'eye to eye' on many things..........

our personalities are completely opposite.............

he frustrates me...........

I frustrate him............

there are days when I dont want to even talk to him because he's made me mad (Yeah, I can do the silent treatment) (but dont worry, I get over it....sometimes within the day, couple of hours) :)................

but..............

I am saying all of this to say....

no matter what....

this guy and I are stuck together!

We are in the period of life to where our girls really dont 'need' us anymore.

Meaning, they are living their best life, and we are just here for moral support! ha!

So, with all of this being said......

I think Tyler and I are doing just fine.

We are enjoying our own space.........meaning, he watches FOX News and I read a book but in the same turn, we love a good documentary or crime movie together. We date. We laugh. We do impromptu 'fun things'.........like a bike ride around the neighborhood just soaking up a beautiful afternoon.

Small things matter....

and even in the mundane, if its worth it, you have to put the work in....

so, thats what we do! Each in our own ways....

each with how we know how....

and we both make it work!

Just him and I.........

out soaking up a beautiful afternoon!.............

of my legs burning because he chose to go up a lot of hills! :)

This is called sacrifice....and that is what I did! ha!

The rest of our weekend!

I do often feel I need another weekend, just to recover from my actual weekend! But hey, its all good stuff and wouldnt change any of it!

Since it was Fall break, we finished off our week with enjoying and relaxing on Friday. I took off and we had a 'fun' day planned but we all wanted to just lounge so we did that and had a full day of watching movies and then we went to dinner once Tyler got home from work!

Saturday was full of Cross Country and then watching that poor Auburn football game. (I just cant talk about this season...boo!) followed by Church and all the other things in between!

Reese came over for a bit on Friday night...and they did this! Reese is so talented! Lily's nails look so great! Like a professional, salon, great!

Then Saturday, this one had a Halloween party to get to! She had all the fun!

Dont get me wrong, Alexis had all the fun too! I just dont get pictures from her! BUT, I got this one! She enjoyed the JAX State cheer clinic with these fun girls!

The Wildcat Classic

Lily is winding down with her Cross Country season. I have to say, it isnt turning out like it did last year. She peaked about mid season and just crushed it but this time around, it has been a learning curve for her.

Pushing yourself and giving it your all while digging deep....are the lessons happening but overall, hey, she is out there doing something she loves that I am just amazed that she's doing!

Early morning Saturdays look like this these days!

Doing her thing! She didnt get a great time, but she did finish! Now, on to County this week!

Runner up at Regionals!

TALK about a complete turn around from the Sunday before! The girls have HUGE potential, they have the drive, they have the grit..............it just takes a Coach to pour into them and well, that sometimes isnt the case.

SO, despite all they have had to change and do, etc............they went out on that mat and CRUSHED the routine they have been given.

The best I think I have seen them since Alexis' freshman year on the mat!

They can do SO much more, but what they did on that mat at Regionals showed and they got Runner Up!

So proud of them and what they have overcome with so many challenges that has nothing to do with them!

On to STATE next!

READY to knock it out!

Patiently waiting!

This squad should be so proud!

WAY to GO!

These Seniors should be so proud of themselves!

LOOK!

Proud of her!

We love this cheerleader!

Her cheering squad!

I mean...this was JUST yesterday! Many of these baby faces are now pictured above!

THEN...Cava for the win to finish out the fun day!

We found this gem in Texas and LOVE it so much that we were all super excited and starving....to eat there!
