Our soccer star in action!

Soccer is back! It is here!

It was a warm one but a beautiful day to be outside watching our soccer star!

She scored two goals today!

She was on fire!

No matter the chaos of coaching, schedules, practices...whatever....

she loves the game!

The came up short by one today but they played hard and have a good team! It is fun to watch them and I LOVE the fact that the girls on the team....will be GREAT to watch next year in HIGH SCHOOL!

Say what!

Im excited! :)

This girl! Loves the game!

She also loves to boss her teammates too. But she quickly corrected me...that as her position on the field...she is supposed to tell her teammates what to do.

Hmmm....okay....

all I know is....she likes to be bossy! :)

So proud of her for assisting with two goals and then making two herself! They have gotten good at passing to each other and helping each other out!

It was a nice day!...and whew, I got some sun!

The sweetest! This little one needs to learn to tie his shoe...especially since he is in Kindergarten now! So...Tyler...as he is the pro at teaching how, since he taught both Alexis and Lily when they were in Kindergarten.....
tried to teach Grey. It was so funny. After a couple of times of showing him....he goes, 'Tyler, I want to go play!' ha! He didnt care about learning when playing could be had! :)

A post about Nannie!

 Nannie.

She is a unique one. She wants to be unique. She likes to stand out from the crowd. She likes to have things her way. She is not afraid to tell you her thoughts and she expects her thoughts and opinions to be heeded and taken with respect, urgency, importance, and exactly the way she lays it out.

We always know she is the boss and she will make sure you understand that if there is ever a question.

She is still as spunky and up to fashion as she ever has been. She will wear her sequins, heels, and perfume proudly.

Her hair is done, her outfit is on point and she is proud of that.

Yesterday was a big and new adventure for her.

To be so independent and able to do things herself in her 80 plus some years of life...(she doesnt want to add the other years...) she has decided to venture into a very nice and cozy assisted living facility.

Her big home is just so much of an undertaking with the yard, etc that this new place will accommodate all of her wishes and desires. There is everything from white, fine dining, tablecloths (that she expects) to bingo to shopping to a movie theater, someone cleaning and cooking for her to more.

Tyler and I had the privilege of helping her move yesterday and taking her to meet some new 'friends' during a 'happy hour' that was happening with an upbeat singing performance and all! Once we got her new 'apartment' put together, I think she realized that it wont be so bad and that she may even like it there.

Time well tell.

And, Nannie will tell....us all....if she ends up not liking it and doesnt stay. So we shall see. She is giving it a 'go' so hopefully she will adjust and understand her 'new normal' and embrace it.

I know it has to be hard and really tough to leave her life of going when and where she wants, having a nice big home, getting her hair done, going to her dances with her friends, meeting a new boyfriend, all the things Nannie did and enjoyed.....

but still having some independence but knowing that she will be able to rest easy having care (if she needs it) and someone to  take care of all the things like cleaning and cooking, will hopefully be a stress relief for her and she will be happy.

My prayer for her is that she is happy.

I think she will be.

If she gives it a full chance.

Nannie has always been a 'one of a kind' person. Never a dull moment with her around, that is for sure!

I cannot even tell you....or count...how many shoes................. Nannie has given me over my adult span of life. See....I am the only one in the family that has a small foot (mind you, not as small has her foot....but she thinks I can squeeze my foot into her shoes....and though I have told her my shoe size is not hers....she still thinks I can squeeze my foot. So I take them. Every time. There has been sometimes where a pair actually fits me. I have maybe three pair in my closet right now. But most of them...are too small or just plain old. What I mean by that is.......

Every single time.............. she will tell me to 'Take these shoes, they will fit you....and they are expensive shoes....that I have only worn once.'

Now....

remember, I cannot tell you how many bags and bags of tons and tons of shoes she has given me over the years......

I have NEVER met someone that has as many shoes and clothes as she does. Like it is shocking. Really. Some clothes...she hasnt even ever worn. Still has tags on them.

But the shoes....

if I were brave enough........

I would ask her....

what the heck did you do that one time you worn these shoes.................

because they are falling apart....some even look like she got attacked by an animal or something...or I just dont even know with some of them! ha!

I dont want to know...and for sure not brave enough...to hear her answer if I were to ask her ....'You really wore these only one time?!?' :) :)

So, until the days she passes, I will keep getting my bag of shoes....sometimes some of her clothes (one time she gave me an old bra.....of hers...and can I just tell you....that doesnt match up AT ALL!).....

and smile and say thank you!

I got a bag full but these three were my favorite that I got yesterday. Zoom in. You'll laugh. The brown pair is taped together and alllll scraped up. The red pair is so worn on the inside and the black and white pair....the sole came out when I was putting it back in the bag. :)

It makes me smile every time she tells me to take them. :)

Tyler and I got to enjoy 'happy hour' with her and her new friends. That was an experience!  :)
These two worked hard to get her settled and to make it feel like home.
Oh Nannie. You are loved. I think the most proud she ever was of me....was one Christmas several years back, I wore a black sequined pants outfit. You should have seen her face and how much she talked about how she just loved that I had those on...the whole night! :)

Wordless Wednesday!

Picture day for our 6th grader!

Her last picture in the Elementary school's yearbook is underway today!

I cant believe she will be in high school next year and that I will have two high schoolers!

She looked so cute this morning and ready for her pictures!

Lily's soccer season is finally underway!

We didnt know if she was going to have a season but they have officially gotten started this week and she is pumped!

She loves soccer and even if she doesnt really have a coach, know when or where practice will be or anything about games, she is still happy to be out there!

Last night they had pictures and practice!

She is ready!

A day to finally see our Cali crew and last moments at Nannies!

Nannie is making a change this week. For her age, she is as feisty as ever but I think she will enjoy the interactions and not having to keep up such a big home when she transitions to Birmingham.

We are all going to help her move in this week and I know once she is adjusted, she will love it.

It was be a big change, and a not so easy shift, but it will be for the best in the long run.

I hope Nannie is happy.

Nannie's first time meeting Goldie and all their first time being in a picture together!

Loved holding allll these babies!

Tyler and Lily were the best helpers! Tyler and Miles are best friends now!

Lily pushed these two wild ones for a long time to keep them entertained! ha!
A family picture! Not all of us but we got what we could! We had a great afternoon catching up, eating pizza and just spending time together!

Sophomore year 2023 HOCO dance

Alexis and Sydney had a full day of pampering and just enjoying a fun day of getting nails, hair, lunch, and shoe shopping before the dance. They met up for pictures and then about 20 of them ate at Yamoto before heading to the dance! They topped off with Claire's house and then all spending the night together!

I hope she soaks up times like that because it will all soon be the past and the 'good ole days' that are just gone so fast!

She said she had a blast so I hope she made a ton of memories and will always remember her high school years with smiles!

These two enjoyed playing alllll day and spending the night together, too, since their big sisters were busy!

Pretty in pink! Everyone kept saying she was Barbie! :)

My beautiful girl

Just gorgeous!

Her and her DD sisters!

Love these three!

A big group of great girls!

Love all the dress colors!

Homecoming game!

Playing Anniston, who has always been a great team...for Homecoming left a lot of Jville fans scratching our heads but the boys came out ready to win and it was a blow out!

It was a perfect weathered football Friday and a great game to watch!

The cheer locker room is just the cutest and these girls enjoy eating and getting ready before the game together in there!

It was 'throwback' for the uniforms so they all wore old ones from the past. They all looked great in what they decided on!

Love these girls!
Some of the Sophomores!

Ready to GO!

We had a surprise visitor to the game! Richard and Pam came to watch Alexis cheer!

 Love those Friday night lights!

Since it was Homecoming, they threw out footballs! Love this of Lily trying to get one from Alexis but she had to wait for her to finish her dance first! ha!
Now ready for it! :)
Always a must after the game!

It is Friday!

Its Friday! And it is Homecoming!

It is perfect weather (hopefully the rain will hold off) and a great day to have a great day!

Lily was SUPER excited about her fun run this morning!

She was decked out in her running gear complete with her race shirt!

Snagged a picture before she jumped out of the car to head into school!

When I pulled up for the pep rally...I heard all the music....kids ready to run and all the fun! Lily is over there somewhere! :)

Alexis had the pep rally. The music messed up so the Sophomores didnt get to perform their skit but it was great seeing the Homecoming court and watching Alexis do her thing decked out in 70's attire!

They still looked so cute!

Go Eagles!

Lily is 12!

 Lily is 12 today!

Pictures coming since I took them with the 'big camera' this morning but in per traditional form.......she was excited to see her bedroom door decorated for her birthday this morning when she woke up! :)

Lunch....birthday cake pops and dinner tonight will round out her special day!

I cant believe she is 12!

Her big day with her decorated door! Today was 'Twin Day' at school...so she had to wear this exact outfit and I had to fix her hair just like this (with it pulled back and braided) to match Lauren, Katelyn, and Reese. :)

She is just growing up so fast!

Olive Garden and birthday gifts...her day is made!

We were alll sttufffedd!

Wordless Wednesday!

Homecoming countdown!

It is Homecoming week around here so between it being Lily's birthday week...alllll the dress up days....and float decorating, and practices...and ALL the other things....

it has been a busy week!

Lily kicked off soccer practice for the first time this season and she is excited and ready!

Alexis has been doing all the Homecoming things!

The Sophomore class has the 70's as their theme since Homecoming week is 'Decades!'

This is the beginning of their float decor!
Alexis had school open house and was proud to show me her sign she made and her 'special touch' with the 'I' :) :) She is so creative!

Making up for lost time!

So, we never had the opportunity to couple skate in high school....

so we made up for it at Lily's party!

We all had so much fun at her party!

My sweet friend, Haley, took this picture of Tyler and I and I love it!

Our weekend!

 We had football.....football....friends...family...parties...Church....lunches.....all.the.things. this weekend!

It was a good one!

Reese spent the night with us Saturday night since Alexis had a sweet 16 birthday party! Lily and Reese had so much fun together!

Jville didnt come out with the win but Auburn did so it made for a great football weekend even though we had a loss.

Saturday called for football food and my pumpkins coming out! Getting up in that HOT attic is NOT fun but it is SO worth it to bring out my favorites! Pepper jelly bacon cheese dip for the win!

Lily went ahead and opened Reese's gift before we left for Church. They have the sweetest friendship!

After Lily's party..we continued the party scene and had dinner at Effinas to celebrate Leigha's birthday with this kid crew! Yeah, I failed at more picture taking but their parents and Tyler and I were there too! :)
