Soakin up the sun rays!

Oh what a beautiful Saturday today was!

We headed to Aunt Pam's for an Saturday in August to boat rides, float, cook-out and catch up!

We had a fabulous day!

I literally told Mitchell and Brittney {because this was their float} that I was getting a sharpie marker ASAP and writing my name on the spot where my body was to claim it so no one else could take my spot! ha! OH...so nice to sit there and float!

And floating with Uncle Richard too! Nannie and Bobbie and Melvin came later and we all cooked out and enjoyed a huge and yummy dinner before heading home and crashing! A perfection of a day!

Two peas and our awesome neighborhood!

We had our 2nd annual Neighborhood get together this afternoon and it was soooo much fun! I am SO glad I started this, last year, and cant wait for it to continue!

I love seeing all of our neighbors and their kids and it was just so nice to sit and catch up and share some laughs! Jason and Staci hosted this year and they have a pool.....so the kids LOVED swimming while us adults sat and talked.....and ate! :)

Soooo...I wanted to share this because I think it is hilarious! Not to get into the whole story but my co-workers {whom I was sitting with} dared me to do something. Well, dont dare me! I did it! :)
Let's just say...it had something to do with the JSU football team! Anyways...my co-worker took this picture of me and I had no idea she was snapping it while we were eating in the JSU Caf on Thursday!

Thursday afternoon....we had a dinner date with these sweet faces! Trying to get four kids to all look and smile at the same time....is HARD! :) We enjoyed catching up with them while we ate! {And..I didnt have to cook! Whoop whoop!} :) {And Misty didnt either! ha!} :)

Then...I get THIS picture today as I am in Bham for the conference. The same co-worker took this picture of Alexis! She texted me the picture with the title...'Two peas in a pod!' Like Momma...like daughter!' haha!
The whole 6th grade class got to eat at the JSU Caf for lunch before they headed back to school. This is Alexis being silly...............like me!
We have the same facial expressions........and we are both in the same JSU Caf! I thought it was really funny! :)

And...this afternoon...........we had our 2nd annual Neighborhood party! OH, we had so much fun! The kids swam and swam and swam!

I helped do the invites and thought they turned out super cute! :) :)

This was the 1st set of 'just girls'....until Jackson decided to do a cannonball since he knew I was taking a picture!

Then....more and more and more kiddos started arriving!

Then the boys decided they were done with their basketball tournament!...and this is not even alllll the kids! We had a great crowd and it was so nice to sit and chat with them all!

1st week of school!

We survived the 1st week!

The girls LOVED it! Alexis loved getting comfortable with switching classes. They have 4 minutes to make it to their next class before the bell rings them tardy. She said she has mastered that and it is a piece of cake! :)

Lily has come home everyday saying how much she loves Science and how all the experiments are SO fun!

Lily's 2nd day of 2nd grade! I couldnt get Alexis to take a picture. She said she was too big to take a 2nd day of school picture! Ugh! :)

 3rd day of 2nd grade! She loves school, her teacher...all of it! Im so glad!

 Mrs. Nelson snapped this picture and I just love it! They were doing an experiment with pennies and taking the 'rust' off! :)

  And...we MADE it to Friday! Whoop whoop! Day 4!

 Alexis finally let me take a picture of her...and ONLY because she was excited to document that she already had a field trip...................AND...the fact that it is the first week of school having a field trip!

 I got this picture sent to me! They all went to JSU to watch the Marching Southerners perform their half-time routine since their band camp was finishing up! This gym is actually in the building that I work {Kennamer Hall} Alexis thought it was super cool that we were in the same building though I was not there today since I had a work conference in Birmingham at Grandview Hospital. I hate I missed them all...but from what I heard...I didnt miss the noise they all made! :)

Today marked the 1st day of 6th and 2nd grade!

They have, actually, been super excited and ready for school to start! They both love school and all the things that come with it............such as being with their friends! :) {Of course that is the most important!} :)

I pray they have another great year of growing and learning! I cant wait to see them shine this year!

THIS cracks me up! She has had this note for literally 2 weeks {if not more} on her dresser! Her 'first day of school outfit!'
The outfit, though, has changed about 10 times....but the note has stayed on top of each change! :)

OH, I love this girl...and her crayon shirt! :)

Let's DO this! Here she comes 2nd grade! She is SO beyond excited that Elyse, Lauren and Reese are in her class this year! OH, those sweet girls together makes me happy! And...not to mention...Bennett! :)

She was SO excited! She was not nervous at all!

This is the best....only one...I could get of her! My Elementary Senior! Cant believe this is her last year before she is in High school! WHERE has the time gone?!?!
She said she was nervous this morning about remembering 'how to do school.' ha! I told her that she would be just fine and it would all come back to her! :) :)

Catching the bus this morning! They were most excited about this and super excited because pretty much every friend in our neighborhood rides so it was one big party! :)

And...OH...we love Mrs. Nelson! She sent me a picture! OH, I love!

They both came home and said they had the best day! Makes my heart happy!
Alexis came home and told me alllll about who were in each class and alllll about her new schedule! Im excited for her!
Lily came home saying she loved meeting new friends today!

A girl's weekend!

We had the best long weekend with LaLa at her house in Destin!

We took off early Friday morning and got back today!

We soaked up the sun rays...ate good food....rode bikes with LaLa....shopped and more!

Ohhh....our 1st day! We got down there around ll:30 so we hit brunch at a cafe right beside this pool and then spent the rest of the afternoon with this as a view!

These two played and swam and swam! I sat and watched and watched and watched! ha!

We came back to Lana's and rode our bikes! We all love this!

 I had to take a picture of this! I rode this on our 1st ride! OH BOY...it was just not fun! It was soooo wide and lopsided too! The bell on it made a really weird ring! It was hilarious as I rode it! Lana had just bought it from Nannie....and you know how things got when they are Nannie's! Lily kept getting mad at me because I kept ringing that hideous noise of a bell as we rode! Oh it was funny! 

 Then...we headed to Chick fila since it was late to eat real quick and then we walked on the beach! SOOOOO peaceful and nice!

 Up bright and early...another bike ride! This time...I rode a different bike and not that tricycle thing! ha!
Lily kept trying to be the front biker because she said we were all going WAY tooooo slow! That girl had a ball riding and did SO good as this was the 1st year riding those curves and sidewalks without training wheels!

 OH...the views!

 Then..we hit the beach! It was AMAZING! Like the prettiest and calmest and the temp was perfection as I have ever seen it!

 LOOK at it! OH..amazing! Alexis waving and Lily being a fish! :)

 We ate a late lunch and then hit the pool before cleaning up and hitting Baytowne Warf for dinner and some shopping! Love here!

 Our last day! Bright and early...BEACH! It was perfection yet again!

 It rained on us for about 2 hours so we loaded up and swam at the pool the remainder of the day before cleaning up and hitting Surf Hut! YUM! And...it is beachside so the views are great!

 Then...Starbucks for a treat!...followed by some shopping at the Outlets!

 We came back late and they decided to put a puzzle together before they all were so cross eyed and tired that we all crashed! ha! Sadly it was our last night!

We got up early this morning and headed home! As a treat....since we start the groove back tomorrow...we stopped in B'ham and had lunch at our favorite place before coming home to laundry...unpacking..and gearing up for SCHOOL TOMORROW! What?!?! I can NOT believe it is time for them to go back to school!
We had the best trip! Ah....so nice!
