Wordless Wednesday!

This hit the award for the week on the internet!

I LOVED watching the Jetsons growing up!

My girls have no clue about this cartoon and it makes me sad!

The Flintstones and the Jetsons were my all time favorite cartoons as a child!

This is so true about today's time and I am okay with that because growing up I always thought the Jetson life was just super cool and so way out there that it would never happen!

Now....we just NEED to have a flying car like them! How COOL would that be! I would be flying alllll over the world!...and be back home for dinner! ha!

Peace out!

To say this year was unique is a complete understatement!

Everything about this year will never happen again, ever, I can almost guarantee it!

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought a virus would have literally turned the world upside down!

But it did. It has. AND here we are!

We made it through the year!

I made it through virtual learning!

Never thought we would have our 'last day' school picture at the beach! But...here we are soaking it up and loving every.single.minute.of.it.

Peace out school year!

Last day of school...at the beach, 05/15/2020

If school were actually in, their last day would have been May 21, 2020 but since the pandemic hit, they have been out of school since March 20th! YEP!....we have been doing virtual learning since and to say we are able to say we survived is awesome! ha!
We ended up having 6 full weeks of online learning that we did at home! I say we rock!
(This is Lily's 'peace' sign. Yeah, dont know what she was doing!) ha!

The beginning of the year! Never would have thought the end of the year would have been like it is!
8/6/2019 they started their journey as a 2nd and 6th grader!
Their year didnt go as planned but that is the beauty of God's work! We dont know what His plan is for us but we have to have faith and hope that we follow and stay true to Him! Blessed!

Alexis' end of 6th grade-Class of 2026!

Though 6th grade didnt end the way we had thought with an end of the year graduation, big moment of soaking it in that she is moving to the High school....it was low key but special!

We had her 'end of the year' drop off to see her teachers, get her class shirt and get her awards!

So proud of how hard she has worked this year and it has showed!

Look at these awards!

ALLLL A's baby! SO beyond proud of her! She worked hard and shined this year!
Perfect attendance too!
I am sad that she didnt get to show off her awards during Awards Day...or have 'Senior' Graduation, but none of that matters, we still celebrated her and are so proud of her!
We went to Baja with her group of friends and their families to celebrate after! It was perfection!
Class of 2026!

With La La part 2!

On Saturday we got up and were the 1st ones at the Outlets to hit some stores. There were only a hand full open so we only went into two but this was out attire for them! ha! Lily cracked me up because the gloves were too big so she was acting funny with them on! Memorable moment for sure!
They had a farmer's market that had just opened. 1st Saturday since everything hit and so the crowd was very small but it was good to see the venders out and trying to help the economy!
We hit the beach after our small shopping trip! Ahhhhh.....so nice!
Alexis did some cheer fun on the beach!
She worked on getting that leg straight! She also did her back handspring! Super proud of her!
Trying to catch fish!
Two beach bums!
La La helped Lily make a mermaid!
They loved playing in the ocean! I snapped this picture because the boy in it thought Alexis was sooo cute! He followed her everywhere and kept looking at her! He wouldnt talk to her though! ha! That age! :)
We ended our last night at Surf's Hut for outdoor dining! It was perfection! Lily loves to eat here when we go because she likes what all they put in the kid's packet! ha! She made these glasses while we waited on our food!
We had the best trip and loved every minute of our time at La La's!

With La La!

So...what are the odds that I end up going on two different beach trips.....in the same week!

NEVER happens...but this time it did! And...Im not complaining!!

I got home early Wednesday, got the girls from Gran and then Thursday we loaded up and headed to stay with La La!

The girls came and they just could not WAIT to hit the beach! We had the best trip!

So far this particular week ranks pretty high on the charts!

We got down there and hit the beach! They were so excited! She was ready to take off!
I love this picture of Lily! Pure happiness! She splashed and played and played and splashed! She found crabs, she found shells, she searched for fish and everything in between! She made the most out of the trip! :)
This one soaked up the rays!
She played and played the entire trip!
Us girls loving the beach!
La La loves the beach too! We were all soooo thankful she asked us to join her!
We ended the day with a Mexican picnic on a bench! It was delicious and perfection!
We came back and did a dusk bike ride! So fun...until the nats/bugs got in our mouths! We learned not to ride that late anymore! ha!
The next morning, Friday, we started off with a long bike ride! The girls loooove to ride and it was a beautiful morning!
Love taking pictures here!
Always my favorite place to take their picture when we come with Lana!
We had lunch poolside before swimming the rest of the afternoon! We grabbed dinner and then came home and crashed after a full and fun day in the sun!
The pool was a little chilly...but that did not stop them!
Water bug!

Momcation!

I have never had a 'Momcation' before and I have to say...

it was glorious!

What does a 'Momcation' consist of?!?!

Let me tell you! NO kids! NO timeline, no worries, no care, no plans, just beach, beach, beach, laughs, soaking up the sun rays, enjoying the view, nothing to do but relax and yep, that is about it.

Glorious!

I have never sat on the beach for two days straight from morning to afternoon and I just didnt know what to do with myself!

We enjoyed each other's company and literally were beach bums! ha!

We got down to Fort Walton, Gulf Shores area late Sunday night! We literally grabbed some dinner, chatted for a little bit and then crashed!

Monday morning!...........this was the view....allll day!
I did not move from this spot! I kept myself hydrated and sunscreened! That is the best I did! ha!
We got cleaned up and enjoyed and outside restaurant that had just opened up! It was my first time being in a restaurant in months! It was a beautiful afternoon to be outside and soak up the experience of being back to somewhat normalcy!
The next morning was our last day! It was a little chilly for most of the day so I actually stayed covered up with my towel!
Then it warmed up and this is how I spent the rest of the afternoon! Ahhhh......soooooo nice!
We did another outdoor...by the ocean, this time, place and it was SO good! I havent been to Gulf Shores in years and years so it was nice to have different views and experiences at the beach! This was our last night! We got up and left early Wednesday morning and headed back to reality! :)
This is how I facetimed Lily the whole time! She thought it was so funny! The girls enjoyed staying with Gran while I was gone since Tyler had to work. They havent gotten to go anywhere, either, so they were super excited for a change of scenery too! :)

Mother's Day!

This Mother's day was pretty low key since we are in the times we are in!

We got up and decided to wear 'fancy' clothes per Lily so that we did!

We headed to Nan's for lunch and then I headed out for a super quick but MUCH needed and SO relaxing 'Momcation!' Just what the doctor ordered! More on that to come!

Since going in to stores is not really an option right now, I didnt expect...or even want or care to have a gift! THIS picture is exactly what I needed! My sundress that I had planned to wear had a huge slash hole on the side of it and I didnt notice it until I had it on and was ready to go. I was so upset because it is so comfy and cute and I had my mind set on wearing it!
Well.......look at this picture! Tyler jumped in...offered to sew it up AND Lily was the one that suggested it! She said...Mommy, I will sew it for you! I have watched Daddy before and I can do it! SO sweet! So when Tyler heard her...{he had already said {though she didnt hear it} that he would do it} grabbed the sewing kit and he taught her how to do my dress so she finished it up! Made my day and just this little moment was perfection!
My cute sundress ALLLL ready because of this sweet and thoughtful girl! She also made me two cards...and went out in the yard and picked me some flowers and brought them to me before I woke up! LOVE her!
My biggest girl and I!
My two loves! I may not think I am worthy some days...but I thank God that he chose me to be their Momma! If anything I ever want them to know and learn from me is to always be kind, be respectful, be honest and do what is right with God's light shining through you!

I've lost track!

Whew...

this week I have just lost track!

Lost track of my time and my days.

I have gotten to where I have to think...almost everyday...multiple times a day...'what day is today?'

Then...I think...'okay...we have to do this...and this....and sign in to this...etc'

So..this week I just lost track!

We have been doing our new normal. There hasnt been anything 'out of the ordinary' that has gone on just being super busy with Summer classes starting next week....doing Science reports/presentations and just trying to make it through with my sanity some days too! ha!

This week...we heard from Governor Ivey. She has loosened the 'Safer at Home' act so come Monday we can have larger than 10 people gather in one place. All shops, hair salons, etc are NOW open though they have to only be at 50%. Still better than being closed! There are still 'rules' we have to follow but this is better news and alot of businesses are beyond thankful!

YOU better BELIEVE Sarah was on speed dial! She is my hair girl....and OHHH Im ready...SO ready for her to cut and highlight my hair! Goodbye roots! IT is coming....WHOO HOOO!
Tyler has been in more despair with having not had a haircut in months so he is beyond ready! He texted Sarah before I did about getting an appointment! ha! He is even getting his hair done before me! ha!

Now, dont get me wrong, we are still going to keep our 6 feet distance and not go shopping right now. The virus is still really bad. There are thousands of cases and deaths. It is a sad time but there is light that our world is going back to being able to 'survive' with business not having to shutdown as they can open back up. The economy can start rebuilding so that is great. We are still going to take things slow but glad Ivey has made the decision for Alabama to 'reopen.'

We had Cinco de Mayo this week! How funny is it....we celebrated Cinco de Mayo....on a Tuesday {Taco Tuesday} but not able to go into a Mexican restaurant due to a pandemic virus..that is so called Corona! How ironic! ha!
So to celebrate this historic day....Tyler and I had a date night!

Yep.

We locked the girls inside {not really...but I would have loved to} :) as they ate their Baja take-out while Tyler and I sat out on our back patio and chatted and had our date while we ate! It was a beautiful afternoon and a perfect Cinco date!

It has been pretty chilly this week especially for May. And for May, pretty much down right freezing so we havent been outside as much as we would normally so that has been a bummer but we have gotten our monies worth of Netflix and have binged watched all kinds of movies and series! ha!

And today, we went to a funeral. The times we are in. All events such as birthdays and funerals are just hard. Luckily because Ivey issued the looser restrictions starting Monday...the funeral home didnt fully enforce the 'rules' so Mr. Fritts was able to have all of his friends and family be at his funeral. We all kept our distance and didnt shake hands, etc but so glad everyone got to pay their respects to him. Big prayers for Mrs. Bobbie, Ryan, his brother and their family! We love the Fritts family and sad they had to endure this especially during the pandemic.

Tyler and I havent gotten dressed up in months! Literally months! I have not worn 'real shoes' in months! They have consisted of flip flops and crocs for me lately so today....we had to have a picture! Though it was not an ideal moment that we were dressed up....it was nice to feel like we had a purpose to do it!

I have to say, I am loving my tan! I have FOR SURE used my quarantine time the right way! Soaking up allll the vitamin D I can and loving it! We have loved being outside and I have loved being able to work from home even though it has been hard a times...or multiple times... :)

This afternoon Tyler will be grilling out and us celebrating Mother's day a day early...so I am looking forward to that...even though I will be inside because it is chilly out there! :)

I say we clean up pretty well!

OH May!

Oh May!

We love you here at the Law home!

May is a time of just happiness with Summer starting...school ending...later nights..and just the ease and slowness from the hustle and bustle!

This May will be a little different, this year, as our whole 2020, thus far, has just been fruit basket turn-over!

But here's to May!

Here's to familiarity that we are used to with all things May....and even bigger beginnings and adventures as, hopefully, the world starts opening back up this month!

So...we hit the 1st weekend in May with a huge BANG!

The best weekend! We were very low-key...because...remember...there is nothing to do and nowhere to go...but it was beautiful weather and just gave me alllll the hopes that May is going to be a great month!

We hit the land in Piedmont. Always great to just escape the world and enjoy the peace and silence and the calmness of the woods! We sat out for several hours just soaking in the day!
Alexis and Lily did some shooting with their Daddy. They are both a great shot! They both shot Tyler's 223 for the first time and did great with it!
I love how their Daddy teaches them the correct way to shoot and how to do everything the safe way. Love their conversations as I sit and watch!
That was a big shot! The bullseye was pretty far away!
Lily's turn! She just kept firing ...and kept firing! She loves it! That gun was bigger than her...and she didnt care one bit!
Girl with pink earmuffs....her scrunchies on her wrist...but not afraid to get dirty and shoot!
We checked out Dugger fudge for a 'fun' drink and some fudge and rounded out the night with Garth and Tricia's live concert at the Oprey on the back deck!
Honeysuckles for dinner...........sure! Well, not really but they were apart of it! Lily picked a ton and even 'squeezed' them into her water! ha!
OH Tickles! I love this cat! She is the best and sweetest and I just love her! She was so nice and comfy under the table while we enjoyed the night!
We stayed up way past our bedtime and these three even had some hot tub action!
Today was filled with virtual Church and just relaxing at home. We did make a Moe's run and Alexis finished her Science project! I give this weekend a 10!
