I got this picture, yesterday, when.....out of nowhere, a heavy rain pour came while these kiddos were running!
In Cross Country, you run in the rain, sunshine, wet, cold, warm, hot...and everything in between!
And...Lily LOVES it!

Nothing much happened over the weekend except for having a date night for the girls and then for Tyler and I!
No picture of the girls but they enjoyed a 'girls afternoon' of shopping and then they went and saw Despicable Me 4 together and had a great time!
Meanwhile, Tyler and I enjoyed Dave's birthday and celebrating the 'old man' turning 45! :)
Church on Sunday, lunch and then gearing up for the first FULL week of school. The girls are SO excited, let me tell you, for a full week of school being back in gear! ha! :)
This squad is going to be so much fun to watch!
I love all these girls and so excited for their future and just watching them shine!

One girl....is counting this day as her actual 1st day of school because this is the actual day that everyone comes and they actually do things in class....
the other girl....
is counting this as her 2nd day because she was 'forced' to go to school, yesterday, and really 'do nothing' and 'not everyone was there' BUT, since she HAD to go, and 'waste time' yesterday....(all her exact words) yesterday counted as her 1st day of school...for nothing.....
so today is now labeled as the 2nd, but 1st day of school!
So, did you guess it? This one wanted her '1st day of school' picture!

she couldnt turn her Summer project in until today............... haha!
She has been wanting to get rid of this since before she even finished it! :) (I cant lie, I have been tired of seeing it and walking past it in the dining room too!) :)
Be GONE...you Summer project! (That....per another exactly worded statement by yours truly.... there should NEVER have been a Summer project to begin with!..........because, Summer is NOT for doing projects for school!) :)

I mean, it is crazy to me!
Lily was a ball of nerves. (She will kill me for writing this) but poor thing, she didnt want Alexis to make her late for her first day of school (you know, she has a point! :) ) and she was nervous about trying to make it to her first class (and making sure she knew where it was) and trying to get her locker opened (I hope that works for her because MY GOODNESS it was hard to open, even for me!).....
and just being at the high school had her all kinds of worked up this morning!

taking her time to get ready, get her things together............then wondering why I am telling her....GET in the CAR! :)...and why Lily is telling her that she better not make her late!
Alexis was super excited, this morning, to be heading into her Junior year...and finding her parking spot because she gets to drive now. Lex is just living the dream! :)
So, here's to 11th and 7th!
I pray they have the best year yet because it is going to be a big adjustment for both of them! Lily with just being in the high school and having to adjust to the teachers not 'babying' them anymore....to Alexis and all of her dual enrollments....and CHEMISTRY.....

We ended Summer with a bang yesterday!
It was a gorgeous day so we loaded up and headed out with the Rays to soak up our last day before school starts and all the fall craziness!

I didnt take any pictures of my own because I want to wait until Lily gets her Cross Country uniform so I can do them both together! This Fall season is going to be a BUSY one with both girls doing what they love!
Whew, today was A LOT!
It was SO hot in that 7th grade hallway....and mix in a billion 7th graders that could NOT get their lockers opened ..................
and BOY, it was something! :)
Lily was able to get hers opened....one time.... did stress over not knowing where her classes are all going to be but super happy that most of her classes has at least two friends in them! ha!
Priorities on must have friends in classes! :)
We will go back up there, before long, and work on the locker...and triple make sure that she knows and is comfortable on where to go!

Tyler and I have ventured into a lot of different activities with each other over the course of our 24 years together.
We have worked out together.....
did a tennis class at Auburn together.......
competed and played pickleball together.........
rode bikes........
the list goes on and on!
We are always up for a new adventure and F45 is our newest!
It is a tough workout class that most mornings (the class STARTS at 5:15am) I dread having to wake up and go to! ha!
Not going to lie!
It is tough getting up!
It is tough doing the class!
But............
once I am done...
it is 100% worth it!
So, today marked the last class until Fall semester begins so we have a 2 week break.
It has been an adventure for sure! :)
This last weekend of July was as low-key as it could get!
And it was nice!
We hung around at home and caught up on all things laundry, etc! Alexis had a spend the night party for Mackenzie's birthday on Saturday so she was gone most of the day. Tyler cooked out for Lily and I so we enjoyed grilling and relaxing! Sunday was full of Church, lunch, errands and then Alexis had Willa Kate's 16th birthday surprise party yesterday.
Everyone is 16 with Nyla the lone one left!
Mixed in this week with Cross Country...
Lily had the JSU Soccer camp!
She looks forward to this every Summer and had a great time this year even though it rained on them the entire time. She came home with grass that I didnt even know grass could be, but she made the most of it and is still loving soccer along with her new love of cross country!
