Wordless Wednesday!

It has been awhile since I have actually posted a 'Wordless Wednesday' on the correct day!

BUT...OH...this one gets my heart strings!

This group....and the smallest blonde....are about to be trying out for Jr. High cheer!

I have a parent meeting tonight for cheer....Jr. High cheer...

and I just cant believe it!

These pictures are Circa 2014! {WOW...time has flown!}

No words!

My very 1st group that I coached! I loved this group...and still love all these girls!.........NO matter the fact that pretty much ALLLL of them are taller than me!
Look at her! She was soooo little!

3 things!

It's one of my favorite posts!

3 things!

Alexis!

1.  SO......us other family members scratch our heads, daily, with some of her antics. Let me explain...
She walks around the house all.the.time. every.single.minute.of.every.single.day. doing different arm motions, head shakes, etc. There is an app called Tik Tok. Well, she doesnt have this....thus because I am known as the 'meanest' Mom ever because she does not have a phone but her friends watch these videos from that app so she learns the dances. So, she is constantly doing them. Let me just say, it is never ending and somewhat very weird that she doesnt stop! :)

2. She is about to try-out for JR. High cheer in a couple of weeks! She set a goal back in November to get her back handspring so she can do it during try-outs set for February. There have been several people say that it would be surprising if she got her back handspring before try-outs. Well, not only is she doing it, she has her round-off back handspring too! Super proud of her and her determination and drive!

3. BIG things are coming her way! Not only is she just blooming in terms of looks, etc... she starts HIGH school in the Fall! WHAT!?! I just can not wrap my head around how fast time is just flying with her! And, for the record, she is turning into a 'high schooler' more and more....every day!

Lily!

1. OH Lily! OH how I wish she can stay 'little' forever! That is just not the case though. For example, just the other day she informed me that she will no longer be wearing hairbows with 'cool' outfits. Her meaning of this went....'She said, okay Mommy, so this outfit that I have on, I will not wear a bow with it next time because I think this outfit is cool!'
I looked at her like she had 10 heads! ha!
So, I go...'Well, okay, what makes it cool?'
She goes, 'Well, its cool because I like it and it is stylish. So, when I wear something that I dont think is cool, I will wear a hair bow with it....okay?!'
Hmmm....
yeah....okay! ha! :)

2. So, this morning. She comes in to me while I am getting ready for work and goes into this whole LONG conversation with me about how when she marries Knox.....she cant have cats.
My response to her is 'Wait...so...what...youre marrying Knox?!? You like Knox?!?! Does Knox know you like him?!?! Does he like you?!?! And....why cant you have cats when you marry him?!!?!'
My head was spinning a little! :)
She goes, 'Well, he is allergic to cats...so we can not have any BUT I will still work and take care and help cats {because she is SET on being a Veterinarian} but I will have to wash my clothes at work and then bring them home so he will not sneeze.
Well.......hmmmm..
yeah...okay! :)

3. She has BIG things happening soon also! She is trying out for a new travel soccer team called STORM! She is super excited about it so we have big prayers she makes it! She will also be trying out for B-Team cheer coming up in the next month or so as well! So, just growing...growing...growing!

So..for the rest of us! Nothing much really on my end! I am in the midst of loving the Bachelor right now! Love that show!
Tyler...well...he got EMPLOYEE of the MONTH at JSU for the month of January! Super proud of him and glad his hard work is paying off!
Tickles and Aubie...well, they are still the same...just enjoying lounging and eating! ha! :)

STORM!

So, Lily tried out for a travel soccer team this morning!

BOY...it was chilly outside....and BOY was it wet too.......

but she got out there and gave it her all!

We wont hear back for a while as to if she made it or not so we have high hopes!

She loves soccer so she is super excited about it if she makes the team.

And....she even said she wasnt cold or wet/dirty at all because she was out there playing hard!

I wish I could say I didnt freeze! ha!

I am so proud of her and how hard she tried out there! Prayers for her and whatever God has in store for her! No matter what, she'll have a great season coming up as soccer season is getting close!

Kicking the ball around before getting ready to show her talents!
We got back from tryouts and got cleaned up and the girls are now with Gran watching Dr. Doolittle movie. I am snuggled with my blanket...in my chair...doing nothing...as my current status! :)

Well...we said our goodbyes....

So....

yeah....

we are not guinea pig people....

we have determined.

NOW...

I had heard...

I had read....

I was told...

that they poop.

I knew it....

I did....

that it was alot...

BUT...I had NO idea that it was literally as much as it was!!

NO...one...NO...one... told me HOW much they poop!

I would clean the cage and literally even before it was clean, where I had them 'playing' would have 50 poop pellets!

And...poor things...they dont know...they would just run around all over their poop because they are not like cats and dogs to where they poop and pee in one area, etc...NO...they would poop everywhere! EVERYWHERE!!

It was just so hard to take care of them. Feed them. They had to have fresh veggies....every morning and every night which entailed a huge mess as well.

So, I had a talk with Lily.

Though she was sad to not have them anymore because she has been really helpful and has loved them and been a great 'Guinea pig Mommy'....I had to explain how we just were not able to love them and take care of them like they deserved.

So, since she will be having soccer starting soon....and then here comes Summer with vacations...she understood that there would be little time for taking care of them that it was best to take them back to the pet store so they can be adopted to new loving homes.

So, last night...we said our goodbyes...and took them back. Cage and all.

DONE.

I am sad because they were so sweet and adorable.

BUT...OH...I have way toooooo much else in my life that I actually HAVE to do...and take care of...and clean...and so on and so on...that.....doing the guinea pigs too....just was not working!

Lily is glad that they will have loving homes and knows that at least we tried!

It didnt help that Coconut bit some of her hair off the other day....so she has held on to that to another good reason that maybe we should get rid of them because she doesnt want to go bald! {Well...okay then..we can use that...though she isnt/wasnt going to go bald. I just went with it because it helped smooth it all over with us needing to give them back!} :)

I tried...and I tried hard. No regrets. I loved them. I took care of them. But...whew...Im done now.
Lily gave them both a hug and told them bye before we loaded them up. Alexis had no concern about them as she hadnt even cared about the fact that we had them.

Tyler was doing a happy dance all the way to the car...

Lily and I, well, we were the ones that truly cared.

Bye Coconut and Pepper.

We hope you have the best new home!

Grannie Alice on the 100th day of school!

Yesterday marked the 100th day of school and so the 2nd graders ALWAYS make the most out of this day!

Lily was SO excited to dress up!

I just love seeing how cute her little friends are....and I try to picture them as actual 100 year olds! ha!

The faces she kept making! They were cracking me up! She claims that is how 'old ladies' look so she had to do them! ha!
My little Grannie!
So, Mrs. Nelson gave them all 'old' names! Lily said that Mrs. Nelson said...she looks just like an Alice! :)
Hello, my name is Grannie Alice!
Love her sweet little class!
And...Mrs. Nelson is so fun! The kids just love her!

Wordless on a Thursday!

Yeah...Wednesdays are getting me these days...so Wordless Wednesday...on a Thursday...it is!

This is SO Tyler....and so me!...except, I dont need a fan...bahaha!

The rest of our long weekend!

The rest of our long weekend consisted of trying to stay warm and being at home!

The girls had SK over for lunch and to 'hang out' after Church Sunday. Then when it was time for her to head home...not an hour later we had 'big' Lily and Hope pop over wanting to 'hang' out too!

So the girls got to have some friend time before we loaded up and they spent the night with Nan and Pawpaw so Tyler and I could have a date night....and day! :)

These two always have a great time with each other and I am so thankful Lily...and Alexis have sweet friends that live near us!
Hope has never held a guinea pig before so it was funny watching her!
Tyler and I had the privilege to have dinner and a movie Sunday night and then Monday morning, we headed to B'ham to enjoy some alone time with shopping, lunch and a hockey game!
The Birmingham Bulls!
It was SUPER cool to meet and sit by this guy! Noah Galloway! He is best known for placing 3rd in Dancing with the Stars TV show!
To say our 1st hockey game was an experience was an understatement! Learned alot about hockey! It is intense to say the least!....especially the fans, the throwing punches and the ammonia smell! ha!
We had a great time...just refueling with each other! It was much needed and loved hanging out with him!

A Saturday!

Our day consisted of dance pictures, guinea pigs, a birthday party, musical chairs and a yummy dinner at the Rocket!

I would say it was pretty productive! :)

Love all of these cute faces!
I decided to join in on a couple rounds of musical chairs! It was fun!
These three always have fun together!
Decorating their own cupcakes. Lily LOVES to decorate!
She is SO good at it too! Everyone kept telling her she should be a professional!

Lily's dance pictures!

Wow...

I cant believe it has been 6 years for Lily in ballet!

She is just growing up so fast and OH how I love her!

This is her 1st year doing Hip Hop....and it is her favorite! She LOVES it!

I cant wait to watch her shine on stage!

Look at alll that sass! Her favorite costume is this one! She loooves it!
The cutest Hip Hop girl ever!
Love!
Ballet time! Tiny dancer!
So beautiful!
Love again! :)
Her cute class!
Her ballet class is big! She was sad that Madelyn wasnt able to be there for pictures but she has some sweet friends in this group!

Us lately!

So...yeah, I missed 'Wordless Wednesday' yesterday. My weeks have been busy with getting back in the groove with students, etc! My goodness, so.much. but, hey, its job security!

So, what have we been up to this week?

The same weekly schedule mixed with.....

Monday night we had the Messer's over for the National Championship! We love that they are a street over so it is so easy for them to just pop over for an impromptu dinner! We had fajita tacos and cheese and guacamole dip! YUM-O!
The kids played....
the guys watched the football game...
and Emily and I curled up with a blanket and watched the Bachelor!
We were all in Heaven! :)
This week we have been doing a lot of this! Giving Coconut and Pepper play time!
And...Lily found her dress for the pageant! She looks sooo beautiful in it! I cant wait to watch both Alexis and Lily shine in it!
We have made it to over half the week...and tomorrow is FRIDAY! Whoop whoop!
Lily was chosen to do the morning school announcements over the whole school! This is a BIG deal when you are selected because it means that you speak clearly and you read well! She was so proud to be selected!

Yeah...so...meet Pepper!

So, when we went to choose Coconut, yesterday, there was another guinea pig that we just loved.

Well, at the time...

we just chose CoCo....

but once we got home and saw how we loved her and realized...she needs a friend..

we went back today and got Pepper!

Meet Pepper!

Pepper is not Alexis...and she isnt really Lily's as she picked out CoCo since she was approved by Santa...
So Pepper is all of ours! ha!
Our two new fur babies!
Coconut LOVES oranges! My goodness she eats them so fast! She also loooovves lettuce! Pepper nibbled some on all of it but...whew Coconut likes it all alot!
And....beautiful weathered weekends....our drive-way is FULL! :)

Meet Coco!

Lily has been dying for this day to happen ever since Santa gave her the Certificate of Honor!

She was SO pumped!

She was a tiny Lily when LaLa and Meg took her to see the guinea pigs! Just look at her! Ahh!!

These two spent the night with us after the pageant and Lily wanted them to come with her to pick out the very BEST one! They were excited to come and Lily was excited to get to turn in her certificate!
Holding allll of them to decide the perfect one! This is the very 1st one she held so she was a little nervous! :)
And....there she is! Coconut!.....and she'll go by Coco! All the way home...these three were calling out and deciding on the perfect name!
Lily and I both didnt realize that even back 'then' in that old picture she wanted a 'Coco!' It was meant to be! :)
She is so adorable! Lily has held her all afternoon...so far!
The sweetest!
Alexis has been over at Sydneys so she has not met Coco yet......so...we may be having two soon...
Snug as a guinea pig....in her new home! Welcome to the family Coconut!

We made it!

We officially survived our 1st week of school and work!

It actually want that 'bad' either!

I love to get back into our groove and schedule of life so I have been ready to be back in action!

Lily kicked off 2020 with it on her science experiment! She loves alllll the experiments they do with Mrs. Nelson!
And....yet another fun one and this time Bennett was her partner!
And...to make 2020 great thus far!.........THIS! She is rocking 2nd! All A's, again, for this one!
Alexis is rocking 6th like a champ! She got All A's and 1 B! Her B is an 89 so......I actually count that as an A! :)
She didnt want a picture...........so, I still felt the need to say how awesome she has been doing! :)
And....last night...we watched LaLa in action! She judged the Miss JSU pageant! So exciting...one of my Nursing students won too! It was a great night!
Nannie came with us to watch!
And....OH...a memory FOR SURE!
So, Pam got all of 'us girls' this device to where if you get kidnapped....all you have to do is pull this 'plug' and a VERY LOUD...screeching...ear PIERCING...HORRIBLE noise starts blaring! To which the said kidnapper will let go of you and therefore you are safe!

Well...........

Yeah......

Nannie managed to pull her PLLLLLUUUUGGGG in the MIDDLE of the dang pageant! LUCKILY it was right before the full action started!
She yells at me [as everyone in the ENTIRE building is looking over at us horrified at whatever that noise is as no one has any idea what is happening..} I'll just sit on it!

Yeah...Nannie....that will NOT work...

and it will NOT make the noise less ear piercing...

So...I grab her purse....squeeze that stupid device to try and drown out some of the noise and take off to the very back of the auditorium...{because..yep...Im in the very front!}

So....I finally find the 'plug' and stick it in so it will cut off!

OH MY GOODNESS!

The people.....people who know me that work at JSU...on and on...and ON....

yeah....

Totally EMBARRASSING! And I had a lot of explaining to do as people were thinking they were going to have to rush out because there was a fire and that was the fire alarm!!

OH MY....is all I can say!

Never a dull moment....

and there were some people there...who once they found out what was going on...is NOT going to let me live that down...

ever...

ever...

Even Lana was dying laughing because she was at the judges table and she knew immediately what the noise was and knew it had to have been because of Nannie!

Again...OH ME! :)
