Alexis celebrated an awesome football season yesterday at the Football/Cheer banquet. It was awesome to see her up on stage being honored for her hard work, for her All-American award and for her dedication and awards towards the competition team!

Jacksonville High played a great game and won the Regionals tournament today at JSU against Handley!
The student section showed up and showed out! The coliseum was packed too! Such a great environment! Happy my co-workers and I were able to go and enjoy the game during our extended lunch break! And Tyler was able to even sneak away to watch! :)
83 to 66! Now on to Birmingham to compete at State! Way to go guys!
His birthday technically isnt until the 26th but we celebrated him yesterday! We havent seen him in awhile so it was great to give him a hug and celebrate him!

Time is flying!
We got Alexis back today. No pictures yet....just a TON of laundry and wet clothes and one tired and hungry girl when I picked her up. Currently she is eating lunch followed by a shower and a nap! :)
She said she had a blast and even ate great food. Hopefully I will get my hands on some pictures soon! :)
Gran got him this...and him and Lily rode it all around the food court. He had a blast. I love that they love playing with each other!
I almost forgot to share this...but want to even though it was cancelled and is rescheduled for April.
We will celebrate her then but wanted to post about it since it has happened now.
I know I am hard on both girls when it comes to school. They both know that grades come first and that studying, etc, is very important.
I am just so proud of both of them and especially Alexis when we got this in the mail the other week!

Alexis booked it to Winter Church camp last night after her cheer tryouts. Since it is a long weekend our Church had youth camp and Alexis was SO excited about going! Sweet Macey and her Mom had to stay late, as well, because Macey had cheer tryouts at Pleasant Valley so they both missed the bus so Mrs. Kelly took them and I think Alexis was most excited about that!
So, today...Daddy and I took off to Birmingham with Lily and enjoyed some shopping, lunch and then to see the Broadway show, CATS, today!
It was such a beautiful day and we all loved our day!

I have to say....I have been to a lot of Broadway shows. My Dad would get tickets from his work and then put them in my name so when I lived in Bham, I would go often to shows with friends before Tyler and I got married. (The year I lived in Bham by myself before we got married) Well, I have never seen CATS. Always heard about it. Always knew it was one of the most popular and known ones. Well.....lets just say....we left at intermission. ha! The dancing and the singing was beautiful. The way the performers acted just like cats was really cool....BUT....even I just could not follow. They said way too many big words that I had no idea what they were talking about. It bounced from one random scene to another...to where I just was lost. Well....imagine if I felt like that....HOW Tyler and Lily felt! bahaha!

Lily kept saying...'I dont understand'....'what is happening'....to the point that I think people around us could hear her and wanted her to hush. :) So.....when intermission started....I said...'okay, its over lets go!' Tyler knew it wasnt....Lily was like...'Really, its over...what just happened?' (see she was confused the WHOLE time!) :) Then I had to explain that we were just leaving that it wasnt over and she goes 'GOOD....thank you for taking me, I loved the dancing but I just didnt understand.' bahaha. I gotcha girl.....I didnt either. :)
'Jellicle' cat....a 'jellicle' cat....with Tyler doing his impersonation, will forever be a hilarious memory etched in my mind! :)
So, it was a bomb.......................and not a good bomb...a bad one....just in our opinion! :)
But we had a great day anyways! :)
The day Alexis found out that the cheer coach was strongly pushing for her grade cheerleaders to have the opportunity to tryout for Varsity instead of another year of Jr. High, she was ECSTATIC!
She was just so happy that the coach thinks so highly of her group of 8th graders that she wanted them on Varsity!
Well, last night....that happened!
Alexis worked so hard to learn the material (they literally only had 2 1/2 hours of cheer camp) and was so proud of how well she thought she did at tryouts!
I cant wait to watch her shine on Varsity during her FRESHMAN year!
(I cant believe Im saying FRESHMAN!)

I love Valentine's day though I dont at the same time.
We (as in Tyler and I) dont celebrate it..............as we should both be nice and love each other everyday and not just one day out of the year! :)
But.....we got the girls a little happy with literally a Squishmellow for Lily (she loves those stuffed animal things...and I dont think she is ever going to grow out of it no matter her age!) and Alexis.....well....she got some goodies such as a back massager brush for the shower and some body wash. (You know....when you get older...gifts sometimes are just more necessity type things!) :) They both loved their little gift.
Then, Daddy wanted to take just his biggest girl out to dinner, just him and her, since time with her is limited due to all the things she is in to. So, they went to Effinas..............
while Lily chose where we went....
we ended up at Cookout! ha!
Oh well...nothing fancy for us and we were both just fine with that! We hit MadHatter for a treat before heading home and then I worked on an assignment and then she curled up beside me and watched a movie until bedtime!
It was a great and low key night!

Lily had a great Sunday! Full of her Valentine's day attire wearing, Church going...and then Abby Grace's birthday party having day!
She bought some heart earrings Saturday....and wore them the rest of the weekend, including to Church!
Alexis had the BEST night! Her and her friends had fun before, during and after the Elite Night dance!
Her 8th grade class! I love their bond! They all just have so much fun together. Now...there can be some girl drama...here and there...but on nights like last night...they put alllll that aside and just love hanging out and having fun..............and making sweet memories!
Her dress and earrings were perfection! She did her own hair and makeup and I have to say....she is so talented and look even better than her friends that spent $100.00 on their hair! :)

After the dance they had Carli and Sydney's combined 14th birthday! You want to talk about a party! I mean!...........just WOW! Yeah...WOW! I dont think they can top this...and there are significant birthdays like sweet 16 coming! ha!
