Weekend of birthdays!

We had 4 birthday parties this weekend! Alexis had 3 of her little friends from school have their parties. The most important party of all was Nannie's! Her actual birthday is October 30th, but LaLa came into town to visit so we decided to throw a little low~key birthday bash at our house since we were all together! We all enjoyed just catching up, watching football (even though it is sooo tough to watch Auburn this year :( and eating the pumpkin cookies and caramel cake LaLa brought! YUM! Sunday we joined Nan and Pawpaw at their church and enjoyed a yummy potluck lunch! We had a busy but great weekend! :)

I dont know if you can see in these pictures really well or not, but I just love Lily's hair! It is so thin...and the back ALWAYS sticks straight up in the air! No matter what I do...gel..hairspray...bows...it still is up in the air! I call her Alfalfanator JR....because her daddy is Alfalfanator Senior! He has one strand of hair that is constantly stuck up too! :)

 I told Alexis that when she is crying and not acting good that her face looks like the pumpkin on the right! :)...maybe that will make her act good all the time because she didnt like his face! ;)

 Alexis is obsessed to say the least in picking Nan's flowers that she has growing!! When we lived with them for the almost 6 months...Nan almost didnt have any flowers left after we were gone because Alexis picked them all! :)

There is no doubt everyone knows we are HUGE Auburn fans! On gamedays we are all decked out in our Auburn outfits! We have people tell us all the time that they wouldnt know we loved Auburn when they pass us in stores! haha! But since we have moved to Jacksonville because of Tyler's new job...we have started doing alot of JSU events. We have so far supported the football, soccer and volleyball teams! We have loved getting decked out in our new JSU attire! We havent gotten a chance to go down to the Plains this year because Lily is just so young right now so it makes it hard :( ....but since we are literally 2 minutes away from JSU we have gotten to be involved alot which makes us feel closer to the close nit community that Jacksonville is...and it is helping us make here feel more and more like home! Now, if Auburn and JSU were to ever play each other (which will probably never happen..but you never know...) I dont know what we would do! :) We miss Birmingham, but loving how Jacksonville is welcoming us with open arms! We are so excited to be here now and start making many..many..memories! Go Gamecocks.................and War Eagle! :)

And...one of the number 1 reasons we go to alot of JSU stuff...is to see the President of JSU...our very on Misty! :)

Pumpkin patch

I am a little behind on posting this, but a couple of weekends ago we headed down to the pumpkin patch in Heflin. It was a beautiful sunny day with the perfect breeze. We couldnt have asked for a better day to take the girls! This pumpkin patch was a good bit smaller than the one we use to always go to when we lived in Birmingham. It was still a fun Fall memory to make...and this year...Lily was able to enjoy it because last year she was just a month old!

A little of this...a little of that!

So far we have had a pretty low-key week. At the Law household, we are always just gearing up for the weekends! :) We found out yesterday about Lily's test results. They all came back normal (which is a blessing)...but at the same time we are still at square one with her and why she stays so congested. I am hoping the Pulmonary specialist we see in November will be able to figure out more and help her get better! Pictures below are of her during one of her tests she had done. I was sooo proud of how she was during all of the stuff she had done. She is one tough little cookie!

And guess who received her Awannas vest last night?!? Miss Alexis of course! I am SO proud of her! So far she has loved going every Wednesday! She has to say her bible verses for the week and each week she will receive a patch for her vest! This weeks verse is "While we were sinners....Jesus died for us." Romans 5:8. She told Mrs. Angie as soon as she walked through the doors! (She was ready!!) I am proud of her for memorizing the verse, but I want to also make sure that she knows what the verse means. We are working on all of that and she is learning so much! I am one proud Mommy!!...OH...and she came to me today telling me that she finally knew how to do something. I asked her what had she learn to do...and she said "Mommy, I know how to click now!!" (Snap her fingers!) She is so excited that she can do it. Her face when she does it is priceless! It has been forever that she would "click" but there would never be any sound...but now...she can "click" and "click" and "click" :)

Understanding the Puzzle

I have had alot on my mind in the past couple of weeks that have been heavy on my heart. Being a Mommy is hard when your baby is sick and you feel helpless for her. My sweet baby cant tell me what hurts...or what is wrong, and that is tough when I want nothing more than to make her not feel bad! Also, I am still praying daily for the Brooks and Turner families. When I found out they lost a member of their families so tragically, it broke my heart. To loose someone so quickly is just something that I wish no one has to go through. The day I lost my Dad was just unbearable. I looked up at God...and asked "why". Why do things happen that we dont like? Why do things happen we dont deserve? I heard a powerful sermon one Sunday that spoke so close to home for me. ~Get a 400 piece puzzle. Dump the puzzle pieces on the floor. Look down at all the puzzle pieces scattered on the floor. Pick up one of the pieces. When you look at that one singe puzzle piece, you stop and think....what significance does the piece hold? Why is it here? This puzzle piece and all of the pieces on the floor makes no sense to me. Once you start to put the puzzle together the pieces start to make sense. You look at the front of the puzzle box for guidance on how to match the pieces to put the puzzle together. Slowly...but surely...the puzzle becomes complete. You see the big picture of the beautiful waterfall or Castle in England once the puzzle is completed. Now apply this scenario to real life. When something happens in your life...and you just dont understand why...think of it as a puzzle piece to your life. You will need to look to God (just like looking at the front of the puzzle box) because he knows the big picture of the beautiful waterfall or the Castle in England. We dont know why things happen the way they do, but what we can do is trust in God to know that he has the plan for us and if we put our faith and love into him...then we can make it through all of the puzzle pieces of our life. The puzzle pieces are events in our life and God is the front of the puzzle box and combined is your life.We may not understand..or like...things that are going on in our life, but God knows what we can handle...God knows the big picture.

The Shoe addict and The Babbler

I am needing to look into if there is a Shoe addiction anonymous group that I can put Alexis in. :)
You know how a normal person will ask..."What am I wearing today?" when you get out of the shower...well the first thing Alexis says to me is..."Mommy, what shoes am I wearing?!" Oh my...is all I can say! I havent even picked out her outfit yet she is wanting to know what shoes she will be wearing! Also..(and this is the worst)....I find pairs of shoes scattered throughout her room ALL the time that she will wear for a little bit and then go and get another pair and wear them! It is the cutest thing though that whenever she gets a new pair, she gets so excited and she is always so thankful for them! She always wants me to take a picture of her in her new pair....and then she wants to look at it once it is taken! She is a mess! :)

And little Miss Babbler...Lily! She has started babbling so much lately! Age 1 to 2 years old is my favorite age by far! She is 13 months and so far she is saying Hey... Momma...Dadddieee...and Ba (ball). I just love love LOVE how she says Mommmaa as she is flapping her little hand waiving at me. It is the most precious thing to see! She is starting to easily follow instructions now when I tell her to do something. She easily recongnizes objects. She loves to go pick up a ball (while she says Ba) and then she will run over to you and throws it! She loves to blow kisses, wave bye and act like she is talking on a phone. Tyler and I crack up everytime we see her walking around with her hand up to her ear and just babbling away! It is just funny to me how babies these days pick that up so quick to do and are so fascinated with phones and computers! She is growing up way to fast..but I am loving every minute of it! :)

Fall

I love fall time! I love the crisp fall air, the feeling in the air, the leaves changing, the peacefulness, Auburn football, pumpkins, chili...I could go on and on! This is the first holiday we are celebrating in our new house, and I am so excited! The pumpkins and candy corn are out! Happy Fall!
