The heat is on!

We have had to crank the heat up here at the Law house because at night it has been chilly! Right now {at 8:00 in the morning} it is 47 degrees! I love Fall, but I dont like the cold weather coming in!

Since Fall is in the air, we are trying to get in as many Fall things to do as we can! We enjoyed taking the girls to get  some pictures at the Jacksonville Methodist Church Pumpkin patch!

Fall day

This week and so far this weekend, the weather for sure has turned to Fall! I have officially switched out the girls and my Summer to Fall clothes in the closets! We have had a great week this week, and weekend so far! Alexis spent the night with Gran last night since she went to the Saks vs Piedmont football game. It was a big game for my old Alma mater, and they stomped Piedmont 40-15! The Wildcats are now heading to the final tournament!
Alexis is for sure needing a nap because..of course...she stayed up late with Gran, and now we get her back and she is tired and grumpy! :) At least she had fun though!

Please say a special prayer for Tyler's Grandad (2nd on the left) he was in a really bad car wreck last night and is in pretty bad shape! :(

Black Thursday!

Wearing black today seemed appropriate with the weather the way it is! It has been a dark, rainy and gloomy day outside! Today's color day is Black! I was kind of "ify" about her wearing all black...but she does look cute! :)

Just a glimpse into our day so far....

Can we say drama?! {These events happened right back to back too!}
Lily was walking in our kitchen {and by the way...she is accident prone!} She can be walking perfectly fine and then just fall out of no where! Well...that is what happened! She was walking and fell flat on our hard tile floor! Face first! BUT.....she got right up and just kept on walking like nothing even happened!
Then enters the drama! :) Alexis {right after Lily fell hard on our floor and not even a peep} starts trying to take a necklace around her neck off. As she is trying to get it off....it gets caught on her ear! Well...you would have thought it was the end of the world! She starts saying "OHHHH.....my eaaaarrrrr......iit isssss stuck!!! OOHHHH OOHHHHH OHHHHH OHHH!" {As she is doing this dramatic voice and cry!!} All she had to do was lift it up over her ear and it would have been fine!! It wasnt even hurting her...it was just stuck!
Tyler and I looked at each other and said......yeah we for sure know who our drama child is! :)

Lily's daycare wrote a note to us this afternoon saying that they want to take a break with Lily wearing big girl panties to school! I must agree! I am tired of having to wash poop panties every afternoon! Maybe one day soon my pooping queen with poop in the potty and not in her panties! :)

On another note, Alexis has been having a reading page that she has to read each night. If we feel like she has read the words well enough then the next day she gets a new sheet. If not, then she has to keep practicing the sheet she has until we think she has mastered it. She has done pretty good with the sheets. Some words are kind of tough for her but she is getting most of them down pretty well.
Well...Tyler has started tonight making her say a certain word that she misses 10 times while she stares at the word! OH ME! :) She is in the kitchen right now staring at the word 'this' while saying it 10 times! I dont know if this is child torture or a good learning tool...but hopefully it will help her learn the words! :)

Our Sunday

Our weekend has been a great one! Even though it is Fall, we are still loving the weather with it being rather warm outside! We have had a low key day today with Church, lunch and something we can never get away from....Walmart! :) When we were leaving Lily's room at Church today, Lily turned around before she walked out and said "Bye my friends!" It just melted my heart! It was so sweet to hear her little sweet voice saying that! :)

Lily and Alexis have just enjoyed being at home and playing! Tyler decided HE...yes HE wanted to make homemade Lasagna....so our house is smelling really really good right now! I can NOT wait to sink my teeth into it at dinner! These are the kind of days that you dont have to do anything "fancy" to have a great day!
Tomorrow we are back in the groove...but Daddy and Alexis are off work/school for Columbus Day! I am sooo jealous! :) Alexis is so excited about "Lexie, Daddy day!"

Tyler and I headed down to our favorite spot....Auburn today! Oh, what a beautiful day in the Plains! I absolutely LOVE going to Auburn! I just can not describe the feeling when I am there! We dropped the girls off at Nan and Pawpaw's early this morning, for their day of fun while we enjoyed Auburn and going to the game!

Alexis and Lily went to JSU's Homecoming parade with Nan and Pawpaw followed by an afternoon of making cupcakes, finger nail painting and coloring! Nan said Lily didnt have a problem running and picking up the candy that everyone threw out that passed by in the parade! I am glad the girls had a great day!

Tyler and I went to our favorite restaurant...Amsterdam Cafe where two of my MOST favorite people came to hang out with us! Mal and Meg made my day by stopping by! I love those two girls..and they crack me up too! :) It was great to see them and catch up! They are FOR SURE hilarious and their stories are always entertaining! :) Auburn had their homecoming today as the played Western Carolina. It was a blow~out {since everyone always plays "nobody" teams for Homecoming}....but it was an exciting game nonetheless! Now  we are all back home...and two little girls are in bed early because they are worn out! :)

Happy!

Life has been busy this week for us Laws! I have been drudging away with a sinus infection all week, so I am glad the weekend is finally here!
 We have had our usual grind of week mixed in with dinner with Nan and Pawpaw. Then the next night with Gran, Brandon, Aunt Pam, Nannie and Hogan! We have been busy with Dance, and homework too! Lily's school called me yesterday to let me know that Lily ate a mouth full of gravel {pebbles} while she was out on the playground! She cut the top of her mouth a little bit from them, but overall she has been fine. The teacher got all of them out before she had a chance to actually swallow any. {I hope!} Never a dull moment around here! :)

Things that have made me happy this week!

Seeing Lily....and Alexis in their fun Halloween clothes since it is October and close to Halloween!

I love seeing the girls play so well together! They both LOVE to color and write....so it makes me soooo happy to see them coloring together!

Lily LOVED Daddy's Chili that he made! {Cant you tell by the mess!} :)

Even though some days this pile is annoying {dropped right by the door when they come in}...it makes me so happy to see it everyday because this pile means that both my girls have made it back home safe and sound to me after a successful day of school! :)

This makes me so happy to see sweet Lily being so still and good while Daddy brushes her little teeth! It is soooo cute to see her standing on her tip toes while he brushes!

And this makes me SO happy! Seeing that Alexis has had all smiley faces at the end of the week! She has been doing SO well in school. She also has been listening very well and just learning so much. I am soooo proud of her!

Today is COLOR day again! That favorite time of our week! Alexis just loves that today was the color pink! That is her most favorite color, besides purple! :)

Alexis said the only way she would take a picture was if she kept her hands in her pockets! She said she was going to keep her hands in her pockets all day! Yeah, I am sure that lasted long! :)

Pumpkin o'pumpkin!

I love taking the girls to the pumpkin patch! We drove down to Heflin and enjoyed the Corn house, the Hay ride, the maze, picking the perfect pumpkins, and looking at the animals! My girls had a great time and it wore them out! They both were out two seconds into the car ride home! :)
