Roughing it!....

Well, mark it down in history!! Yesterday marked the day that Alexis and Lily camped for the first time! :)

We have had a very fun and busy weekend!! It started off yesterday morning with heading to Alexis' football game! We played Southside and WON again! 22-0!! Our boys are great and of course our cheerleaders are too!!

Tyler took Lily while Alexis and I were at the game to Lily's best friend Callie's 3rd birthday party! Callie had a 'Babydoll' themed party and all the little girls had to bring their baby dolls! Lily loved the party so much that Tyler said she didnt want to leave! :) Until he told her, we are going CAMPING! :)

The girls were just beyond excited to go! We headed to Piedmont with the Grogans for camping fun by the creek!

The kids had a ball just being outside! They did everything under the sun! Everything from playing in the creek, throwing rocks, finding 'treasures', coloring, picking sticks, digging holes, playing hide-n-seek, playing follow the leader and more! All the kids got along and just played so well the whole time together. I didnt hear one of them say they were bored! They all got 'down and dirty!' Literally, they all were a stinky, smelly, muddy, dirty mess! :)

We cooked out hotdogs, roasted all different fun kinds of marshmallows, sat around the fire, enjoyed seeing the stars and the beautiful skies! {God has to be an Auburn fan because we had the MOST beautiful orange and blue sky!!} The kids told 'ghost stories' {they DO NOT know how to tell a ghost story!} {It was SO funny hearing their 'stories'! Alexis' ghost story consisted of "Once upon a time, there was a girl named Lily and she had a sister and they played games and had fun, the end!"} :) :) We sang songs around the fire and just enjoyed the night before it was time to 'hit the sack!' {Literally!!}

We stayed pretty warm!....I have to say, even though we were 'roughing it', we still had a electric blanket! :) It felt sooo good! I have to say, I didnt sleep a wink because we heard coyotes ALL night long!! A LOT of them TOO! They didnt get close to us, but they were around!

We woke up this morning bright and early and Tyler cooked us all a yummy breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast!

We let the kids play some while we loaded everything up and then headed home for MUCH needed baths and clean up!

We all got warm showers and then we all took a 2 hour nap! SOOOO nice! :)

We had a great weekend and so thankful for the memories and having great friends to come along with us!
Setting up shop!! I have to say...it is A LOT of work to pack everything, load everything, {make sure you have everything!!}, set everything up, set everything out,  etc....and then the dreaded load everything up and take it all back home and clean it all...BUT...it is all worth once you are seeing the smiles on the kids' faces and see how much fun they are having and the fun that we all had...it is worth it!!

Our 'compound!' Matt cracked me up!...He said Daddy bear, Mommy bear and baby bear's...! :)

They loved playing in the tent! They called this one their 'playhouse!'

Yes, this is what we used!..............and Lily was the first one! :) I have to say she has been doing SO good pooping lately! :) {Thank you thank you!!!!}

This cracked me up! As we were packing up...they were filling this bucket up with water and pouring it over what was left of the fire! They couldnt pick up the big jug soooo...................

..................they laid on top of each other to smush the the jug and get the water out! They were having toooo much fun!!

Oh this girl! I told her to put her shoes on as I was cleaning up from breakfast. I look over....and she is wearing my shoes and telling me she is ready to go! :) :)

In memory of....

Today marked {forever in history}...the city of Jacksonville Breast Cancer awareness 'Pink Out!' October 15th!!

The first annual event seemed to be a great success! I went today with Alexis on her fist field trip as a 1st grader!

We walked the Jacksonville Square and saw all the pink!

There was a pink fire truck....a pink police car....pink everything! {Even Cocky had all pink on!} :)

The kids had a great time seeing everything, hearing about breast cancer, eating Kona Ice and then getting a pumpkin at the Pumpkin Patch!

And to mark the day...{forever in history} I will mark October 15th in memory of my late grandmother {whom I never had the privilege of meeting} who died from breast cancer. Ms. Audrey Badgett.

I never had the chance to meet her, but I have heard how beautiful and wonderful she was.

Breast cancer took her at a young age...............

Hopefully one day there will be cure!

This girl had SO much fun and loved the 'tiniest pumpkin she could find!' :)

We headed home to a great and YUMMY dinner of Chicken pot pie! {I aced it this time around!} :) followed by one of my all-time favorite childhood memories, Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin! I would say today was a great day! I am so thankful for days like this!

Monkey see....Monkey do!!.....

We have had a great and busy weekend! It seems like our weekends just fly by these days!

The girls kicked off the weekend by spending the night with Nan and Pawpaw so Tyler and I could get ready for our bright and EARLY yard sale! Let me tell you, I think they had more fun than we did! :)

Tyler and I {at 5:00 in the morning} had just put out everything down our drive way and thought we were done when literally we heard a big clap of thunder! Soooooo, Tyler ran in to check the radar, and came running out yelling 'Hurry!' We RAN to get everything back under the garage when the bottom fell out! We made it in the nick of time!!

Despite the rain, we still had a great turn out! You cant stop those die hard yard sellers!!

We rounded out Saturday with having a GREAT game during Alexis' football game! The Eagles are still undefeated!! At least we had one great football game, because sad as it is to say....Auburn lost to Mississippi State! :(

We came home to relax the rest of the night and have pizza night!

Today was filled with Church, lunch, grocery shopping and the PUMPKIN patch!! :)  :)   And now....we are all curled up watching Hocus Pocus! :) Love Halloween movies! :)

Lily was one tired little girl Saturday when she got home! She had a full day of decorating pumpkins and getting her finger and toenails painted! Nan said that Lily decided she wanted to paint her own toes and opened a bottle of polish and had it everywhere at the nail shop! She said it was a mess! Oh me, with this little girl!!

Alexis and Lily decorated pumpkins with Nan! They put different colored thumb tacs in them! {And yes the picture below, Aubie was trying to eat the pumpkin!...we had to move them outside!} :)

 After the girls found their perfect pumpkins...we headed home and they pretended to be witches!! Lily copied every.single.thing. that Alexis did! :) Lily was casting a spell on me as I took the picture! :) Monkey see...Monkey do!! :)

I dont really know what to say to this picture! :)   I look over from cooking dinner and she is doing her homework with her crown on!!! Oh me! :) She said that she could do her work better with it on! :)

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!.......I got a run through done!!! And.....it looks cute and it works and now the football boys HAVE a 'paper thingy' so they call it to run through!! {Now on a side note, they need to learn how to run through it without it being a domino effect with them falling!} :)   {And by the way, I am SO proud of myself for this one turning out after my first horrible experience!}

IT is HUMP day!!! I enjoyed going to Alexis' school and helping her teacher! I also enjoyed seeing this little cutie!

Friday....... WHOO HOO!! We have to wear our orange and blue!! 

 AND.....another highlight of my day on this day! Lily got a new coat from Nan and she would NOT take it off! Who cares if it is 85 degrees outside right!?!?!....it still could snow at any time!!!

And today...we wear pink to cheer in! Lily LOVED the pink pom poms! She kept trying to steal everybody's so she could hold them! :)

And we had a FULL Saturday! Another highlight of this day...was seeing these two have fun together! Alexis was THRILLED that Sara Kate invited her to play over at her house! They decided to meet us at the JSU game, so we enjoyed the game together too!!

Sunday funday at Aunt Pam's! We had a surprise birthday party for Nannie! {Even though my girls spoiled it because they kept asking for cake and Nannie figured it out!!} :) :)

 OOHHH....this view is SO nice! The girls love feeding the ducks!

 Happy early birthday Nannie!! The girls were thrilled to sing her happy birthday!! {Because finally cake was coming next!!}

Do your ears hang low?

I have been wanting to post this since Sunday, but I just havent had time until tonight!

Alexis came running to me Sunday afternoon with the 'greatest idea ever' per her! :) :)

She said she wanted to do this 'thingy' where you stand against a wall and you draw lines on the wall so we can see how big she is! :)

As I am listening to her explain this 'greatest idea ever' I start getting a little nervous!..........but, she then continues to tell me that we HAVE to do it because she wants to see how much her and Lily grow and that it will be fun to draw lines on the walls to show it! :)

Sooo.....I ask her, 'Do you mean you want us to do a growth chart so we can see how tall you are {and Lily} and how much you grow?' And Alexis says...'Yes Mommy, and I want you to do it right here!'...and 'I want you to do it everyday!' :) :) {And FYI, right here was on the wall in our living room!} lol! {And FYI, Daddy had to explain to her that doing it everyday really wasnt necessary because there would not be that big of a difference} She just knew that if she did it everyday, that somehow it would really help her grow and grow and grow! :)

So, Daddy hears her request and comes up with the great idea to do it down in the basement! GENIUS! :)

So, we headed downstairs and....... the girls made their mark!!

It made my heart smile because Alexis was soooo excited about doing this and it just made me smile SOOOO big to see her trying to explain it to me and give me her reasons as to why it was needed  to be done!

So, Sunday marks the day that every 6 months we will see how much my little girls grow!

This girl has excitement written all over her face!!

The picture might be hard to see....but look at the difference in height between the two. It isnt that big of a difference for there to be 3 years between them! :)
