The smell of sunscreen in Auburn!

Turning 7, sunning and playing in the pool, and fireworks!!....

Couldnt beat our trip we had to Auburn!

We LOVE to go to Auburn! Everyone looks at me funny when I say that we are heading to Auburn for a couple of days...

most people only think of football!

Well, Auburn is sooo much more than just football!

We loaded Thursday through today with sun, fun, pool, relaxing, shopping, eating, site seeing, ice cream, poolside late night movie watching and more!!

Little do most know, but there is a little gem at Auburn called Grand National and we love to stay there and enjoy!

We had a great trip with Nan, Pawpaw and Brandi celebrating Alexis turning 7 too!!!

Cant believe she is 7!!
First picture as an official 7 year old right before we left for Auburn!! Also...officially her first picture without a hair bow! When she woke up, Daddy and I sang her happy birthday...and the first thing out of her mouth was...I never have to wear a hair bow again! :)
She has been wanting a horse for her 'American girl doll' and so Daddy surprised her with the horse from us! She was sooo excited! :) She is also obsessed with little stuffed animals so she picked out this cute octopus at Cracker Barrel from us too! :)
She loves her new bathing suit from Brandi and wanted to wear it right when we got to Auburn! She was ready to swim!!
Ahhh...not a bad view from my comfy chair by the pool!
And not a bad view from our deck either!!
After a full day by the pool we all got cleaned up and celebrate Alexis' birthday at Amsterdam Cafe!! YUMMMMM! I love that place! The girls and Daddy had fun playing on this cool old piano outside the restaurant!
Happy birthday to Alexis! The waitress surprised her with a chocolate cake!
Nan and Pawpaw...and Brandi enjoyed the comfy cool shade by the pool! :)
She thinks we dont know who she is! She wouldnt take off Lily's glasses! :)
My American girl!!!
Ready to celebrate the 4th a day early!
My little family!! We enjoyed Tasiki's on this night! Yum too!
After dinner...nothing funner than night swimming!!
Alexis always enjoys meeting and swimming with friends!
Racing to dive! :)
Movie time! So cute!...they played The Boxtrolls!
Our last day! We were the first ones in the pool this morning since we had to check out today! The girls had fun soaking up the last couple of hours before it was time to go back home!
They wanted to swim in the hot tub...that wasnt hot! :) We had such a great trip! I LOVE Auburn......for a million reasons!!!! :) :) :)

Family birthday party for the birthday girl!

Alexis' family birthday party was today!

She is 7!!!

WHAT?!?!

She picked Yamoto restaurant for everyone to meet and eat/begin her birthday party fun!

Despite the terrible thunderstorm/rain....we had a yummy and fun meal with everyone!

Alexis LOVES eating there and it was funny because we eat there per her request a good bit {when Daddy is not with us} and the same guy waiter recognized us and was our waiter this time!

After we ate, the rain had finally stopped so we all headed to our house for presents and cake!!

Tomorrow she will officially be 7!!

We are heading bright and early to AUBURN!!!...with Nan, Pawpaw and Brandi since it is the 4th of July weekend!

We cant wait!!!

After our yummy meal, Alexis was SUPER surprised by the waiters singing happy birthday to her and surprising her with green tea ice cream! She was skeptical of the ice cream at first but after she tried it...she loved it!
Nannie and Lex!
She is 7!! :) :)
Last week...she picked out her 'perfect' plates and napkins for her party! She was sooo excited to pick these out!
The crew at her party! :)
The crew again! :)
I hate that the next several pictures turned out blurry :(    Aunt Pam, Lex and Richard!!
Nan and Lex! I hate it is blurry because it is a great picture!
Gran, Lex and Ben. Again, hate it is blurry! :(

Wordless Wednesday!

{Just to show Alexis is the queen of faces just like Lily!} :) :)

Goodbye my best friend....

And so it begins...................

She is all grown up and refuses to act like a 'little kid Mommy!'............

I have struck a deal with the devil...and there is no going back.....    :( :( :(

Alexis has been resisting wearing bows for a couple of months now...

I mean really resisting...like refusing to keep them in.

She says that she is too grown up to wear bows in her hair and that the bows I put in are waaayyyy too big!

Talk about breaking this Momma's heart!......

For the past several months now....I told her that I would make a deal with her.

If she would wear the bow {and this is each and everyday that I have had to say this} that when she turns 7......................... she will not have to wear bows anymore.

Yes, I know...

I said it...

No more bows.

I dont know what I am going to do...

I just LOVE her in bows....and it is just going to kill me to see her without them because it is going to be a constant reminder of me making this 'deal with the devil' and the fact that she is all grown up on me!

She has been cracking me up because she has agreed to this deal....

but she smushes the bows flat to her head and it looks absolutely crazy but she thinks it looks good because the bow is smaller! :) :)

It is hilarious!!!

This past weekend when Meg and Mal were with us.... Mal asked her why her bow was so flat on her head and to come to her and she would fix it before we left for Church.

I had to explain to Mal what she has been doing to the bows because she doesnt want to wear them anymore! Mal busted out laughing. Thank goodness, Alexis let her 'fluff' it! :)

I have until Thursday........

Thursday marks a whole new journey that I will be living in....

pray for me now! :) :)

Seeing double!...

We saw double all weekend with Meagan and Mallory spending the weekend with us!!

We enjoyed having them SOOOO much!

Alexis wanted them to move in with us!...................I would be fine with that! :) :)

We didnt have any real big events planned. It was nice to just hang out and catch up with the girls before they go off into the 'real world' once their 'real world' jobs begin soon!!

Racing down the road! Fun memories!!
Once Mal and Meg got to our house, we loaded up and treated them to Jefferson's! They loved it and the atmosphere was fun. When we got home, we just enjoyed being outside and riding bikes and scooters, playing and watching movies!
How does he do it? Mal couldnt even ride Alexis' bike because it is so small....but look at him go! :)
Chillin with the big girl!...
And chillin with the little stinker!....
We got up bright and early and headed to Terrapin Creek to canoe and kayak! Loved hanging out with them and laughing the whole time!
On the way to the drop spot....we rode in a van that literally had only one window! It was sooo early in the morning that it was sort of chilly! :)
We made it! It was a beautiful day!! There was a really high chance of rain and it completely went away and we had perfect weather!!
The pros! :)
Love my view!! :)
We ended the afternoon with a nice nap...yes, Meg and Mal LOVE our couch! :) :) And then Tyler made his famous steaks as we cooked out! Later on, we headed to Sonic for some fun drinks and I gave the girls a VIP tour around campus and our neighborhood! Great ending to a great lazy..relaxing...fun day!

The girls enjoyed going to our Church this morning and then having lunch at House of Chen after! The girls were excited to eat there for the first time because they said that House of Chen was where Lana met Vic's parents for the first time when they started dating! Sooo sweet! :)
After lunch the girls headed back to Birmingham! Alexis told them that she wanted them to move in with us! Alexis and Lily were sad to see them go! :)
Later on this afternoon, we met the Grogans at Baja and then they came over and played for awhile since they were in town. They are packing up and getting their final things moved over to Georgia!
We had a great weekend catching up with friends and family!
