Alexis' Freshman year cheer camp in the books!

 The Seniors voted to have cheer camp at Great Wolf Lodge instead of the University of Alabama or at PCB in Florida................to which we were all surprised but they love it and they had a great time and it was an easy drive over so Lily and I along with Abby Grace got to join in on the fun!

I can't wait to watch this squad ROCK this upcoming season! They did so great at camp and looked so good! SUPER proud of them!

Alexis wasnt able to try out for All-American but she enjoyed watching her Senior friends make it! They won grand champions in their overall game day performance and 3rd place in Camp cheer/dance! 

Outstanding!

They got to mix fun with cheer and all the things in between! Sweet memories that Alexis will carry for a lifetime!

Theme night..........they were the best! Junior High is mixed in as their theme were football players. Varsity did 'who's your Daddy!?'............hilarious them dressing up like Dads! 

These four Freshman! Love them and love their bond! Poor Madison was sick and had to leave so she missed out.

Bummed only the Seniors got to try out for All-American because the chick shined and I know she would have made it but seeing her with their big wins was awesome as a squad!

Our weekend!

 Its been sort of a low key weekend since we are missing one!

We took Lily to the Piedmont pool and we enjoyed a long day there until we came home to head to the pool again...for Pearson's pool party!

It was such a beautiful day!

Today is all about working on school work and gearing up to head to Alexis' cheer camp so Lily and I can see her! Lily will also be throwing in some fun at the water slides with Abby Grace too....so there will be that as well! :)

Her favorite was her the pool party at Pearson's with her friends!

And...they ended the party with a water balloon fight! We enjoyed catching up with everyone since we have been so busy and havent seen them!

 Off she went early...EARLY..Saturday morning to her first 'big' and VARSITY cheer camp!

 Alexis has been pumped for her upcoming cheer camp!

They have been practicing but really have been gearing up this week to get ready since they leave Saturday morning!

Each day that have had a different practice theme to keep it fun!

This stunt group has worked SO hard and look so good! GO team yellow!

First Varsity bonding retreat in the book! Lizah's Mom hosted all of them! They didnt get any sleep but had a blast all together!

 and then a big pool party before leaving early tomorrow morning. 

They have had so much fun together! Junior High got to hang out with Varsity at the pool party! Love their bond!

First and last day of 4th grade!

 So I missed posting this in May..........then I missed 'Wordless Wednesday'.........so I know it is June and she has been out of school for a week{ish} but I love to see how much growth has happened in a school year so I am doing this post now!

Better late than never!

The beginning of 4th grade! 

We started out the year with COVID still being a big key factor. Still unsure of what to do and how to function with it. It's like the twilight zone and deja vu because we literally never thought its going to end! 

To the end!

COVID is still around, however, the world has calmed down with it finally! Mask mandates have ceased finally and we no longer have to quarantine if exposed. I swore the word quarantine and 6-feet apart was never going to leave my vocabulary but it finally has!

You still see some people wearing masks in stores, etc but for the majority it is a thing of the past. I still havent 'burned' mine, yet, just because we never know when it could flare up and us need them so I still have them stuffed in a cabinet! I still hear and know people that have COVID though different from the past.....if someone has it now.....we dont all look at them like they have 15 heads and should be stricken from the earth at least. It is just something you have...a sickness...and we go on about our business which is SO MUCH different than it was even at the beginning of this school year! JUST crazy I tell ya what we have been living through! Just no words!

This girl has hit a huge growth spurt!

I know one thing.............this girl is ready for 5th grade! She no longer wants any association with being 'little' or a 'baby' or anything of that nature! She wants to be a big 5th grader. She wants to shave her legs...she wants to wear sports bras {I know, she is going to kill me for writing ALL of this} and the list goes on.... {insert sad face here, she is getting grown!} :)

Memorial day weekend and our 1st time out!

 ALWAYS love when we go out kayaking in Piedmont on the land. We have our 'secret' spots we go and I just love going though we dont get to go as much as I would like. It is alot of work to do it....and we ALWAYS have some type of experience...every.single.time. such as tipping over...or loosing a paddle or like this trip...Lily and I getting stuck under a tree and Tyler then starting to pull us out through the tree instead of around the open way. Yeah...that was fun. not. :)

But...it is beautiful and I hope its a memory that the girls will look back on and smile from their childhood!

The was the first float that both girls actually were pros! Whenever there was a spot that was a little rough or whatever...........they both cruised right on through and knew how to handle the situation. We have prepared them and this time they put it all to use! It was so fun to see!

Love! We capped off our long weekend with grilling out and then as if we havent gotten enough quality time with the Messers but we dont care.........heading to their house with the Rays here in a little bit to eat dinner!

Church...lunch at Texas Roadhouse, some shopping, Starbucks, errand running, laundry, unpacking, cleaning and now some relaxing and cuddling with movies to enjoy our day home!

Our last day!

 On our last day we sleep in a little bit....and then HIT the POOL!

Talk about feeling like you are famous....Ceasars pool area was outstanding! Cearars in general was just amazing with all the statues and fountains and so on and so on!

We soaked up the pool and sun before heading out still on our bathing suits to have lunch as a place that I wish we could eat at local! The best shrimp sticky buns....that I have never had before and sadly will probably never get to eat again. I am still craving one! We walked around and then went back and hit the pool for a couple more hours before getting cleaned up for dinner and a show!

We had dinner at the Mirage in this beautiful restaurant (I have to say every place we ate was so delicious and unique food. SO GOOD!) and then wen to see Shin Lim. He is a card magician and we laughed so much at the show and enjoyed it before heading to the room to crash! After the day before going all day and then the heat from being at the pool and then the late show....talk about zapping me! ha! I slept like a BABY!

Then...we got up the next morning and hit the airport to home! We love that we have found fun traveling buddies and we are already planning our next adventure! (it will be with the kiddos!)

An awesome card trick.....all of our cards matched back up at the end! NO idea how Shin Lim did what he did!

He's won America's Got Talent....been on Penn and Teller (Tyler and Lily love watching that show) so it was cool to see him in real life and it was so neat to try and see if we could figure out what he did with the cards. None of us could! ha!

After the show we walked around and then saw the Bellagio fountain show! So impressive!

The Grand Canyon

 We had amazing pictures at the Grand Canyon so it deserved is own post!

We didnt know the set up....we thought we could just drive up and do what we wanted. Well, we had to park and pay. There were two stops and the first stop wasnt very impressive but the second stop we were able to hike and do our own thing and the views were just incredible! The 2nd stop was totally worth all we paid and the effort to going!

Amazing how big.....how deep...and how it is just in the middle of nowhere too!

Eagle Point. 

This part of Arizona was the Native American land so there were examples like this of how they lived around the area. Tyler enjoyed checking out all the landscaping!

The 2nd stop was so awesome! It was all of our favorite! We climbed this and though it may not look so high in this  picture...........well......it was! It was a trek to get to the top as well! My legs were sore the next day! So glad we got a car and took off on a fun road trip day!
