DC part 2 of part 2 the rest of our first full day!

Part 2 of Part 1! After the Church service, we headed back into the heart of Washington to the National Archives. From there we hit allll the National Museums, the Natural History, etc we took up the rest of the day before heading back to crash! :)

The National Archives was very cool where we saw the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, etc!

We made our way to the other museums! We went from the Holocaust to the National History and in between!

After we decided to have some outside time so we treked to the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial, the Martin Luther King and the Lincoln Memorial among alll the others!

Such a cool experience inside the museums!

Lily's twin! baha!

Her favorite animal of all time!

So big! Just huge...everything HUGE!

The details of everything amazed me!

Love this group!

I cant even describe how the buildings...on every single corner....looked like. Just look!

A Dad and his girl at the Washington Monument! He said he liked this trip better than going with a bunch of kids on the school trip! :)

We enjoyed our trip with half the Johnson crew!
So we were told to go up to it and look straight up. We did. And WOW! It looked like it was going to fall over on me! It was crazy!

The grass area was amazingly beautiful and flush and green! Oh...you know...just a girl in pigtails looking at the Capitol!

Family picture time with the Capitol in the background!

Taking a break! This was a pretty chilly day but it was perfection and warmed up beautifully as the day went on!
Over by the Jefferson Memorial was beautiful with waterfalls everywhere!

My favorite!

There are no words!
So sweet!

MLK
Lincoln Memorial. So many stairs and just amazing!

There he is!

The Jefferson Memorial had a huge and beautiful lake in front of it. We walked all the way around and had this view while we did!

All the stairs again! ha! See Lex, Lily and Tyler alllll the way at the top! Yeah...I was dragging a little bit! ha!

There he is! Nick is checking it out!
The view at night! LOVE!

A better shot! We took the Metro back and crashed on this fun day!

DC part 2-the Cathedral!

So...we had an early night because we had an early morning FULL of all the things Washington DC! :)

We attended the 8:00am Church service at the historic Washington National Cathedral. It was AMAZING. I have never seen anything like it. And...of allll the beautiful buildings in Washington and NYC (and all the other places I have been and seen) this was the most beautiful structure I have ever been in. It was huge and so intricate!

We toured around before the service. I was in awe!

To know how old it is and the history of it and the prestige...just amazing!

Getting ready!

For sure different from what we are accustomed to. It was Episcopal so we read alot and the took Communion. It was such a great service and sermon! This service did not have the choir. Only the 11:30 service to which I would have loved to have attended but it didnt fit into my itinerary that I worked HARD on! :)

Just gorgeous!

I couldnt even take pictures of how tall and wide it was. The pictures just do not do it justice!

The grounds were amazing too!

The garden! :)

Us leaving to catch the Uber and go on to our next adventure!

Here we go! Washington DC part 1!

We were up and out and off on our way to ATL at 5:30am to make our flight to Washington DC! We ended up not making our flight due to the extreme long lines through security but no fear, we adjusted, made the next flight and had enough time to eat at PF Changs (which made Lily's year!) and hang out for a bit and then we made it to DC!

DC is beautiful! I mean the architecture and the landscaping! Just beautiful!

Union Station was just gorgeous once we got off the metro! We made our way to our AIRBNB and then decided to take a walk around and soak it all in and eat dinner! We found a great little pub and ate and then went back to have an early night since we had plans to an early morning!

These kids were ready to fly! It was Nick's first time...................for pretty much everything we did so it was so neat to see it through his eyes and his excitement! First time to fly for him!

They passed the time by playing Uno and hangman! :)

Yeah....us two.....on a trip! What was funny was a guy on the Subway in NYC said....'Oh WOW...so you work together and still want to travel together?!' we just laughed! ha! :)

We took the Metro! It was a breeze and CHEAP! :) It was amazing that it was underground and sooo beautiful! I was just so impressed! (And we all were once we went to NYC and we werent at the Metro anymore....but the Subway....we missed the Metro very much!) :)

Once we left Union Station Metro............our view! The Capitol! YEP...we stayed a couple of blocks from the Capitol! :)

Isnt it beautiful where we stayed! We were on the lower level!

Beat those Tigers!

BIG win against the Heflin tigers! Tyler said it was a boring game because we just blew them away! I didnt go so I could clean and get the last minute trip things done but it was a great night for football and another Eagle win!

Tiger King was the theme for the pep rally! I did go to that and enjoyed seeing Alexis get a pie in the face! The cheerleaders were supposed to be silent the entire day and whomever makes them talk first, gets to pie them at the pep rally! Well....from what I heard...Alexis talked to Sadie before 1st period even started. Yeah...I didnt think she was going to last long not talking! :)

Lily and alllll the Screaming Eagles got to come! And.........they were LOUD!

Lex doing her thing!

Alexis getting a pie by Sadie!

The hair nets cracked me up!

Wordless Wednesday!

When you know the coach!

I had to come a little later to Lily's game and when I walked up..........I noticed my chair and the chair that was supposed to be Tyler's....was empty!

Then I look over...and see....that I know the Coach pretty well! :)

BIG win against playing Heflin for the 1st time! It was a good game!

A cat, co-workers and a bunch of students!

What does a cat, my co-workers and a bunch of students....have in common?

Nothing! ha!

Just a bunch of randomness from this week!

This cat is rotten I tell ya! He has the life!

This was our view while we ate dinner the other night! He had not a care in the world!

I had the pleasure of working the high school College Fair and it was fun seeing all the high school Seniors and seeing faces that I know. It was a good day!

And then this....!! :)

I have not laughed...crying laughing...in a while...

Tammy still doesnt know what we did! Her office...didnt smell so good! OH, it was funny. She may kill us when she ever finds out...but we are hoping that she will never! :)

Its fun to be back in a building all back together! :)
