1st day of Spring!

Today marked the 1st day of Spring!

OH, it was beautiful weather. The chill could have been turned off some but overall, it was a fabulous 1st day!

So, what did we do on the 1st day of Spring?

Well, to kick things off, we had school and work of course!

But to cap it off, Tyler did some turkey hunting....

I had a crown put on...

and the girls did this!

Bigger than her head! :)

We had Church right after this so it ended a pretty great day! Tyler didnt see a turkey...and my mouth isnt too sore......but I would for SURE say....these two girls won on the 1st day of Spring! :)

Alexis' 5th grade field trip!

Today was a beautiful day with just a little chill so it was perfect for Alexis and her 5th grade class to have their field trip!

They enjoyed SIFAT which is an outdoor type 'adventure' that they enjoyed. No parents were allowed to come.....so the kids were super excited to be 'by themselves!'

Alexis sweet teacher sent me this picture of her doing the ropes course!

I cant wait to hear all about her day as judging by this picture, she had a lot of fun!

Well hello!

Soo....

I feel like it has been awhile and that I am slacking on posting here lately!...


Well, so what have we been up to?

We celebrated Sam Parker's birthday at The Factory, had school work, homework, tests, work, and all the other regular work week items!

Tyler and the girls celebrated Pawpaw's birthday last night at Longhorn with everyone as his birthday is today!

Meanwhile, Emily, Misty and I set out for Ross Bridge and had the best.....and MUCH needed girl's night away! We loaded up after work and headed to Bham for dinner before heading to our room. We slept in, enjoyed breakfast before heading to our appointment for our massage!

OH sooooo wonderful!

We got cleaned up after and hit lunch before coming back to reality! :)

I literally threw my stuff in the kitchen and we all headed to Tammy's surprise 40th birthday party! Once we were finished with her party...we all came home and crashed the rest of the night!

We did alot of birthday celebrating this week!

OH just so sweet! They are still real good friends and we love SP so OF course we were going to celebrate his birthday!

The girl squad at the party! Literally it was alllll boys and they allllll played dodge ball the entire time! These three had fun doing all the other activities that The Factory has to offer! :)

We enjoyed the steam room and the hot tub as well as their sitting area with fruit, etc before our massage time. It was SUPER relaxing!

Just sitting right in that chair....perfection!

Came home and enjoyed the fun 40th birthday surprise! It was soooo sweet of Stephen to surprise is bride! :)

This and that!

So, a little of 'this and that' that we have been up to lately!

Whew, I am loving a new class I tried! It is kicking my booty....and OH, it is fun!

This made my week! I got this sweet girl, and her brother, a little fun treat and OH, that smile is the sweetest!

And today, we loaded up after our Church and headed to the Korean Church to support Ezra and Rachel as they are attending this Church and helping to preach and play the piano until they find a new preacher. We wanted to show them that we miss them and want to wish them the best as they are taking this new challenge on!

To talk about an experience! WOW! They love the Lord! Sing beautifully and just were so welcoming and hospitable! We really enjoyed it.....however Alexis {and all of us for that matter} could not understand any of it! :) They had an interpreter but..ya know, it was what it was. It was great to experience something new and to show support for a great family!

Yeah, this was the program! :) Hmmm...... :) :) They even had lunch for us after so we all sat and enjoyed lunch! We actually even learned that the {big} family that owns YUME, China Luck and Isshin all go to that Church! The owner of Isshin is SO nice and is always so welcoming when we go eat there so it was nice to see and talk to him and his sweet wife!

It was a great day!

Before the storm

OH, today was a beautiful Saturday! Sunny...high 72! Perfection!

Tonight and into tomorrow we are supposed to have alot of {more} rain {boo, we just have not been able to catch a break in months it seems} so we soaked up today while we could!

We started the morning off with a sad moment. So, there is no more Lex and SP.

Yeah, talk about sad!

Sam-Parker is the sweetest little guy and has been nothing but a gentleman to Alexis while they have been 'boyfriend/girlfriend!'

So, I get a text from Missy that says SP is upset and was wondering if I knew anything because he hasnt wanted to talk about it.

I had NO clue what she was talking about...

so, I talked to Alexis.

Come to find out, Alexis {with the help of Chloe. Apparently Chloe and Alexis came up with this idea before P.E.} {Lesson learned that Alexis doesnt need to rely on her friends to help her out with decision making or assistance with tough situations apparently...} {anyways} went up to Sam-Parker {as Chloe was with her {to help her out}} at P.E. and said

'SP, is it okay that I dont like you anymore?'

OUT OF THE BLUE!

Poor SP! {No wonder he didnt want to talk about it because he was mortified!}

So, when I found out she had treated him like this and did what she did...OH...my.goodness.

She told me that she just didnt know how to 'handle' it.....and that she just decided she likes him as 'a friend.' That her and Chloe came up with what they thought was the best way to let him know and so, that is what they did. Walked right up to him, said what she did......and walked off. The end.

Needless to say............we HAD A LONG talk. {Ranging from everything to its okay if you just want to be friends with him, you can always talk to me if you need help figuring out how to handle a tough situation, think before you do something 'big' as to how it will affect others, to, always be kind...to, maybe, not go by everything.single.thing.Chloe.suggests.} {Yeah, we had a long talk}

I think she has realized that if the shoe was on the other foot that she would have been SO upset and hurt and that you just dont act like that towards someone especially since he has been SO nice to her and likes her SO much!

Broke my heart because I really did think she wouldnt have acted in that manner to him {or anyone for that matter}

Poor Alexis. She is getting in tougher phases of life with tougher situations and trying to figure it all out and everything. It is alot. And hard.

I get it.

Though she handled it wrong, she is 'new' to all of this and BOY, she has a long road ahead of her and alot more experiences ahead. Though she may not have handled everything 'perfectly' I think she has realized that no matter what...

to always be kind and respectful.

So, she text SP and apologized and I think they are 'okay' now.

So, needless to say.....

I wish there was a manual to read on exactly how to be a parent! ha! :)

So, we got past that 'drama'.................................................

and NEEDED to get outside and soak up the beautiful day especially since a 'real' storm was coming later! :)

OH me! :)

Life is made of lessons....

and Lex, for sure, learned one today.

So, we got ready.....and headed to a later lunch and then hit the land in Piedmont just to 'get away!'

It was perfection!

We tried out Kirks in Piedmont for the 1st time and it was OH so good! The best hamburgers for the win for all of us!
OH the creek was perfection! It was high....and looked like a great moment just to go float!

 Daddy found a tree that he wants to cut up!

 Then....some shooting going on!

 Checking out their shots! Lily got a BULLSEYE! Whoo hoooo! {Yes, Alexis has her shirt off! She claimed she was super hot! We were out in the middle of nowhere, in a cow pasture...so we let it go!} :)

 And...Lily made a TON of wishes!...{per her} Wonder what all they were!?

 Blowing hard!

 And, they are all gone!

 The girls practiced their driving skills around the land before heading home and just relaxing the rest of the day! As I type this, it is getting darker {due to the storm} and I can hear the rumble of thunder!
The girls quickly changed clothes and helped Daddy wash off his truck as it was soooooo dirty!

Girl's night!

It has been a couple of days since I have posted!

Not because I havent had anything to post about, its just that I havent found the time to sit down to do it...or did I take any pictures? NOPE!

So, slacked this past weekend!

To start off....

Friday, I started off my day SUPER bright and early as a group of us headed to MY MOST favorite place to tour and see how the campus is laid out so we can start getting some ideas for our new JSU building and campus! It was a great tour and I LOVED walking around my old stomping ground! We finished the great visit with MY MOST favorite place to eat before heading home! Amsterdam Cafe NEVER disappoints! Then, I had a girl's night with some friends just having an appetizer dinner and 'game' night! It was great just chatting and laughing with some sweet and hilarious friends at Tammy's house! A FANTASTIC Friday!

Then, Saturday, Tyler and I were up bright and early and as soon as the rain cleared, we cut down and cleared 3 trees in our side yard. Yeah...talk about dying! WHEW! I got a work-out that totaled 3 weeks {per tree} :) as I helped Tyler lug all those tree stumps and limbs to the street curb!
Then Lily W and Willa Kate rode their bikes over so the girls enjoyed being outside as it turned into a beautiful and sunny day! And, to cap off the night, we headed over to the Stone's house for a dinner that had some delicious food! There was a big crowd so we enjoyed seeing co-workers and neighborhood friends before coming home and crashing from a busy day!

And...to end the weekend, we had Church, then lunch, then the girls and Tyler spent the afternoon at the REC Center while I had a Church meeting and then came home to do fun 'chores' while they were gone!

So, WHEW....

busy but full of friends, food, and fun this past weekend!

And...

tonight...

we had a fun girl's night at the Oxford Performing Arts Center!

We picked up Willa Kate and headed to dinner then enjoyed the play!

It was a great girl's night!

We hit Panda Express and it was OH so yummy! My view from the table!

This week was read across America week and so it was a fun dress up week for the girls!

Well, except Alexis!

She is now, officially, toooo grown to do these dress up days!

So, it was just Lily!

Monday was 'Wear your favorite animal print' day! OF course....she wore a giraffe! She LOVES this animal! :)

Tuesday was 'Wear red and blue' day. {One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish day!} :)
Sooo....she wore her 'blue' jeans and her red pullover! They also got to bring a stuffed animal on this day too!

Wednesday was PJ day and bring their favorite book! She was pumped about this day!

AND...today was 'Dress as your favorite book character' day!
Is she not the cutest Junie B. Jones EVER! OH..we nailed it with this one! :)

Tomorrow is Friday and she is planning on wearing a Dr. Seuss t-shirt as it is his birthday tomorrow!
And..she came home this afternoon with her BLUE Eagle! SUPER proud of her! She was pretty excited about it too! Cant wait for her to make the next benchmark of Gold Eagle! :)

yesterday I was slammed and then between dinner, Church and just getting ready for the next day, I didnt make it to post!

OH Snapchat! I got a new haircut so I put a Snapchat filter on to show it off!

Then...I told Tyler to 'look' and I got him! He has no idea how it works so when he turned around...the filter popped up! haha!

Then, he turned around to see what I was doing...and I got him again! ha! It cracks me up!
