Weekend days

OH how I love the that the weekends are getting better...just because the days are getting longer and because it is just perfection to be outside and soak it all up!

We spent Saturday in Gadsden for Grey's birthday and then Tyler and I had a date night since Lily stayed and spent the night with Grey and Alexis celebrated Sydney turning 13!

The girls had fun getting their nails done....and having a nice dinner before spending the night!

I say...all of us had a fun Saturday!

This afternoon we went on a bike ride. Well....Alexis didnt as she was taking a looonngg nap {from having a spend the night bday party} So, as we were riding....several things...it was way more windy than we thought and then wearing long sleeves and pants just didnt jive well with how warm it was outside. So...instead of riding all the way to the trail and back, we just did a small ride through the neighborhood. Good thing, too, because Tyler didnt blow our tires up so we...meaning ME...was dying because...try riding a bike with two low/flat tires! NOT fun! :)

Grey Grey is 3!!

 Sweet boy is 3!

Time sure does fly!

He is the absolute sweetest and brightest light little boy. He makes my heart melt and the fact that he is 3 and just growing up is so fun!

He is turning into a little man!

Sweet smile!

He wasnt sure about the Winne the Pooh blow up....but...he stood beside it. ha! :)

 These 3.....love them!

All he wants to do is play with cars and trucks so of course his theme had to be that for his birthday!

He loved opening gifts! Happy birthday Grey!

Our week with sunshine and Lily as Laundry!

 OHHHH......

the weather.....

has been amazing this week!

I see Spring! I see sunshine...I feel warmth!

It has been fabulous!

Now....today....it is raining...but supposed to end around lunch and then the niceness is supposed to be back!

I love it!

Oh...I do not like Winter and so this makes my heart happy the way it has been this week!

We have soaked up every afternoon with playing outside...having neighborhood friends over just playing and swinging, jumping on the trampoline until dark and it has been great! Not to mention that it is 6 when its dark now too! Whooo hooo! Daylight savings time is coming up and it makes my heart happy too!

We have eaten outside to soak it all up and it just brings a new fresh take on everything!

One of our family meals out on the patio! Jambalaya for the win!

And....this! Bahaha! Lily decided on the word 'Laundry' for her Vocabulary parade! This cracks me UP!

She decided on this word....and everything with it all by herself! This is the picture that when she is 16...she is going to be like...WHAT was I doing!? :)

Then Callie decided she wanted to be with Lily and they were sooo excited to be 'twins!' This picture is going down in the memory books as one of those most embarrassing ones that I can NOT WAIT to pull out of Lily! bahahahaha! :)

And...to top it off! Having friends who are teachers! Got this golden gem from when they did the acual parade! ha! LOVE it and glad they loved what they did and had fun!

Alexis' 1st JV cheer season awards banquet!

Tonight marked the end of Alexis' 1st Junior Varsity cheer season with their awards banquet. They normally have it sooner....and they normally have a big catered dinner but due to the fun COVID, it was pushed back until now and we just had individualized snacks. It was special for the football team and the cheerleaders so that is what mattered!

She had a great season and loved cheering both football and basketball! It is hard to believe that she has already tried out and made the team to begin her 8th grade season! Training and camp, etc....with football and basketball makes cheer a year around sport that keeps her busy! Super proud that she can balance it with keeping her grades high as that is what is most important!

Loved watching her this season and excited for her next!

Her Daddy....and the decorations! :)

Taylor, Lauren and Lex!
Getting her cheer certificate award!

So proud!

Madison, Lex, Reese and KeAshia. Love all these great girls!
Family picture before we left minus Lily. She played at Callies while we were gone!

A day for Meg!

Today was a beautiful day for celebrating Meg! There was a little chill but it was a sunny, blue sky day that was not terrible cold since we have been having such freezing weather lately!

Meg had her bridal shower today and though most of everyone has gotten at least the 1st round of the COVID vaccine....we still decided to have it mostly outdoors so I was super thankful that the weather was nice! It was great seeing Birmingham friends and spending time with family celebrating Meg!

We all colored coordinated today! ha!

The group!

We all love Meg!
Us girls!
I have been waiting for this picture since this baby was born! The first time we have finally gotten to hold and spend time with Reese! OH...they are all so cute together! :)
We are smitten with this little one!

Look how they are looking at each other! Reese just loved Lily {everyone always draws to Lily!} and Reese just watched Lily and smiled and just loved being around 'big girls!'

Such a pretty day for celebrate this one!

It is a SNOW day for us!

Well...originally school was just supposed to be delayed for 3 hours today. I was looking forward to sleeping in a little bit but then getting ready and hitting the office since I was off yesterday but....plans changed and today turned into a full SNOW day!..............well..........really without the snow...but ya know....here in Alabama....you just never know how it is going to do so to side on the precautionary zone...they cancelled school so us three girls changed out of our school and work attire and stayed in our pjs!

It has been SUPER cold outside so we have enjoyed seeing the snow falling until it ended around 12:00. It really didnt stick so there wasnt much playing in it or enjoying it but at least today turned into another 'comfy' day! :)

Soccer enjoyed seeing his first 'snow!' You cant really see the flakes falling in this picture but he was watching them fall!

Lily was PUMPED to go outside! She lasted all of five minutes...but still...she loved it!

Cant really see the flakes but for a couple of hours...it was coming down pretty hard!

Trying to taste the snow!

Our Valentines loonnngg weekend!

We had a great looonngg weekend!

Saturday was full of cheer try-outs and Alexis making her 8th grade cheer season! So proud of her and she was sooooo excited Saturday!

We capped off Saturday with Gran taking the girls and Grey to get a Valentine treat and coming over to play for a little bit too! After that, later on we had the best dinner at the Walkers!

Just look at that steam! OH YUM! We had a Mardi Gras/ Valentine dinner with a big group. Delish!

Our Valentines! Tyler and I love these two more than they will ever realize or know! They were PUMPED when their mini fridges were put in their rooms. Yeah...I know...mini fridges! :)

Today was President's day so us girls stayed curled up and warm alllll day! We did do some cleaning and I did some school work so it was a somewhat productive day!

Tomorrow there is a 3 hour delay because..........it may SNOW! Who am I kidding...it is only going to freeze and be miserable.....but....I can sleep in....and maybe there will be snow! You just never know! :)

Her 8th grade cheer season...is underway!

Alexis is another year as a Golden Eagle cheerleader!

She has worked so hard the last 3 days and this morning she shined! Try-outs were underway and we just found out that she made it!

Congratulations Alexis! Super proud of her!

What I am even more proud of her about....is the fact that she gotten home last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday late because of cheer and once home, she still had to eat....shower....take some time to decompress....and she had a HUGE History test Friday and still made a 96 on it!

Super proud of her!

Her 8th grade year is around the corner!

Linda is 70!

She doesnt look it or act it!

Linda is 70!

We threw her a surprise party and the happiness on her face just was priceless!

I strive to be like...and look like...Linda when I am 70! She has the most perfect complexion....and has the most sassy, spunky, and sharp personality.

Here's to Linda!

Happy birthday!

Surprise!

We can still throw a party...in the middle of a pandemic!

I may or may not have done....all of the party planning...hence....all of my decor from home came with me to work today! Linda was surprised and felt so special so it was all worth it! :)

The week of lOvE!

The week of love is upon us and I have to say....I dont fall into the Valentines hoop of that is when you should buy the most special item to show how much you love someone...

I think it should be done each and every day and not just because it is a 'holiday' but.....

I cant resist wearing pink or red..........anyways! :)

Lily is still at the age that she enjoys dressing up and me taking pictures of her around the house where I decorate for the occasion! ha! Now....trying to get Alexis to...is a whole different story!

So let's look at the week of love!

Monday....LOVE!

Tuesday...all about Cupid....and 'Reasons why God loves you!' :) Lily...especially...just loves reading what I put up about why God loves her! Last year I did...'reasons why we {Tyler and I} love her {and Alexis} so this year I changed it up!

Wednesday!.......showing off my new little area! I just love it!

Wednesday...Alexis had a little pep in her step so she actually let me take a picture of her before leaving for school...BUT....she would not wear anything pink or red! :)

She was also excited and had that pep in her step because Wednesday marked the first day of Cheer Clinic. Her 8th grade year Cheer experience....kicked off...and BOY is she excited about it!

Thursday....LOVE with alllll reds this day!

And..today! Valentine party day too! Love is in the air!........and IT IS FRIDAY! :)

Got it done

 Sooo...yesterday...I did it.

Tyler did it too.

We both got our COVID-19 vaccine.

What is crazy to me is......

really crazy....

is...

we still dont know, fully, what COVID is. Cant figure out why if affects some people one way and another person the other. How there is a different and new reaction to everyone that is sick almost every day.

We dont know the full long lasting side-effects from it. Why some people have these side-effects and why some dont. Why a 'healthy' person who gets diagnosed with it {who has never had heart issues in the past} now has heart issues.

Why it makes some people's hair fall out but not others like they claim it makes it do.

Yet...we have vaccines now that is supposed to help 'cure' this unknown {still after a YEAR} sickness. Now they are saying......well......not sure how long the vaccine will work against immunity. Not fully sure of the long term side-effects of getting the vaccine....

but, yet, we should. We need to.

Now..........it is being said that NOW...not only is just one mask acceptable....but NOW {after a YEAR of this pandemic} we should be wearing two masks.

Two masks.

And....alllll of these new variations that are forming and new strains that no one knows about....NOW...we have alllll of that being introduced.

It is just mind blowing. It really is.

But....because I am apart of JSU Nursing. Because I am ready for this nightmare to be over. Because I want to help with immunity. Because I feel it is the right thing to do for my friends and family.

I had my first round yesterday.

I was super impressed with the Jacksonville Community Center and how they had the whole process organized. It was great to see a good bit of my Nursing students giving the vaccine. One of mine actually gave me my shot! She was so nervous and it cracked me up but she did a great job and I didnt even feel it! :)

My arm is sore today but so far I have felt fine! I go for my 2nd round in March and I have heard it is not fun! Soo.....I am not looking forward to that but....ya know...it comes with the territory so I will get that done when it is time.

So...here I am...

proof that I am helping save the world!

It was pouring down rain when I left the Community center to excuse my wet pullover! The piece of card stock will go down in the History books! Here's to kicking COVID-19 to the curb!

Wordless Wednesday!

When I saw this meme..........I knew which cat we have that this FOR SURE is intended for!

He even resembles the cat in the picture too!

That cat is..............

SOCCER!

More truer words have never been spoken. He does it............every..........night! :)

This girl and alllll the 13th birthdays!

It is so hard to believe that all of Alexis' friend group are turning 13. Time just does not slow down and I am thankful for that because seeing her friends and her grow have been wonderful to see and I cant wait to see what all of their futures hold for them. I pray each and every one of them have the best life God can provide. That they all will have happy and healthy futures. That they all work hard and become whatever dream they dream. I pray for them and cant wait to see what the future holds.

Alexis was excited to go to Bryce's party tonight. It is funny that his Mom and I went to school together. I can remember us at their age. I had a car load of excited girls as I dropped them off this afternoon!

Our weekend was pretty low key. We met Gran and Ben at Tre Ragazzi's to celebrate Ben's birthday last night. We havent eaten there in a long while so it was a nice dinner with a fun atmosphere. We had Church and lunch today and are currently watching a Netflix movie {Tyler and I} while Lily is glued to a movie! We got them Disney plus and BOY.........is it a hit! ALLLLLLLLL the Disney {anything you can imagine} to watch! It is fantastic! Alexis is at the party and friends are bringing her home. Nan came for a little bit and the girls were excited to get their Valentines treats because...it is the week of love this week! Stay tuned for alll the cute Valentine outfits coming up! :)

This is the only picture I snapped.....alllll...weekend! I know...crazy! She was dressed and hair done and ready! :) She is just growing up before my eyes!

The first full week back!

 This morning was a STRUGGLE!

The girls have done GREAT all week when it came to getting up and getting ready for school.....except today! None of us wanted to get up and get going! ha!

Thank goodness it is FRIDAY!

We all survived the first full week back in school since school started back in January!!

So hard to believe that it is February and it is the first full week back but it was....and we have made the best of it! We found our groove and made it to Friday!

I am just glad that I feel like my girls have had a solid week of learning compared to the other weeks of blended! Those weeks were just full of no organization and just trying to decipher what was to be done and when to get it done with no substance of learning included.

On Monday....Lily CRACKED me up! She was PUMPED to go to school! She had laid out her entire outfit. Was up super early to 'get ready' and she had a specific hairstyle that she had been talking to me about for two days prior that she wanted me to do. It consisted of braiding her hair....pulling it back into a ponytail and then pulling side pieces down around her face............and curling those pieces....BUT...in little, tight curls.............NOT longer...more wavy curls. I mean she told me EXACTLY what she wanted.

So....that is what I did.

And she beamed!

We have a big week coming up with 'this and that' to do, hair cut appointments, COVID vaccine appointments....and Alexis has CHEER Clinic and try-outs! She just finished with her season and it is already time to take on the new one!

Looking at the picture, she looks like she is bald with two tight curls {it is just funny what I have in my head...thinking..as I see her hair like this!} :) but.......it is what she requested and she is happy!

AND....Whoooo hooo! No better words to be spoken than this below!
