We are 40!

 Well...we are 40!

We made time to celebrate us and have a reunion and it was just what we all needed! It was relaxing, low-key, full of chats, laughs, sun, food, shopping and just perfection!

To the fact that we have been friends for so long...through all the things....it is special and I treasure their friendship!

We had a great little getaway to Guntersville and it was so nice! 

Daddy and the girls had a great weekend full of water balloon fights and game nights so they had a great weekend too!

Yeah...they said Alexis lost all of her money quickly. Not a surprise! :)

I have never been to Guntersville but FOR SURE will be back and take the family too! It was such a quick and easy drive and I just loved all things Guntersville!

This was my view Friday when I got there! We spent the afternoon by the pool with this view and it was soooo wonderful!

The Lodge at Guntersville has these views! It was a cabin like feel and is a little gem!

Down below is a beach area that you can go to. They had zip lining and horseback riding among other fun things to do. My girls will love coming here!

Saturday we hit the pool again before cleaning up and doing shopping in downtown Guntersville which was just the cutest!

Dinner at The Rock House! So nice and delicious! I had put 40th birthday celebration on the reservation....so they gave us all a free dessert each! Delicious! 

We said we are going to make this happen more often! Im holding them to it!

All the school things!

 We did all the school things today!

The girls are ready for school though they may say they arent, they are excited!

Today Lily had her 11 year old check-up {though she is not 11 yet} because she had to get a shot for school. She handled it like a rock star after she asked about 10 questions which included......'How long is the needle?!" bahaha! :)

Then after Lily, we headed to my office for a little bit where the girls loved sifting through my office supplies and driving me crazy too! :)  .........before going to Alexis' FRESHMAN year's schedule release!

She didnt get a locker this year...because she said she never used it last year so we shall see if it will end up needed but we did get her schedule and she loves it!

She is SUPER excited about her Home EC class and her Health and Career class {that she wanted to take because she wants to be an orthodontist} and then her Varsity cheer athletic P.E. too. 

She saw her friends...checked to see if they will have classes together then had Chick fila to cap it off before they went home and while I went back to work!

 We said our goodbyes to Kristi today since she is moving to a different role. We enjoyed lunch and then came back to some of our other co-workers enjoying pies to say goodbye to her! :)

 One of my biggest motos, if you dont have the courage to ask, the answer is always no. Dont let the answer always be no just because you dont want to simply ask!

Our anniversary weekend!

 Yesterday marked 17 years for Tyler and I and in our known fashion, we celebrated with white water rafting down the Ocee river. 

It was amazing.

It was just such a beautiful setting and so much fun!

Though the day before is always hard and how I miss my Dad all the time, I know he would want me to not focus on the bad and soak up the time Tyler and I have and enjoy our anniversary. So, that is exactly what I did.

It started raining pretty hard on us about halfway through the float and with the light thunder that was off in the distance and how the rain came through the sun that was in and out along with the beautiful mountain view and the lush trees, I felt like I was in a magazine. The storm passed pretty quick and it was just refreshing!

We had a really fun guide that directed us and helped us do some fun and extra things such as in one spot we spun our raft in circles about 4 times while the water rushed around us! It was the coolest thing!

The girls stayed with Nan and Pawpaw while we enjoyed our little trip!

It was a great day!

We had dinner with Nan, Pawpaw and Brandi so since the girls stayed, we had a date night. Tyler tried on some fancy shoes before we saw the Elvis movie! :)

 Tyler and I are just SO impressed with Lily and her ability to know the name of songs and the lyrics!

Alexis has always been the one that loves to sing but Lily is a pro at all things song names and lyrics!

We love watching several different shows such as 'Name That Tune. Dont Forget the Lyrics and Beat Shazam!' 

Every time we watch those shows...Lily will belt out the lyrics to the song thats on or name the title of the song that is being sung. I just cant believe how good she is!

Every.single.time.we.watch. she beats us all!

This was her the other night as we were watching 'Dont Forget the Lyrics' She didnt know I took the pictures of her on the couch so when she saw I was, she started laughing because I told her how impressive she is so then she let me take a picture of her in front of the tv. ha!

I just love her and her sweet personality! 

She is a mess for sure! :)

Us comfy in our pjs...not too far from bedtime...curled up just singing away! I love that she still wants to curl up with me and watch tv together after a long day of life!

Wordless Wednesday on a Thursday!

 Didnt get to post this yesterday, but its worth the wait!

I LOVE this! I love this so much because I sang this to both girls when they were younger as I came into their rooms! Now they wake up on their own but it just made me smile that a meme would say what I did! ha!

 I love when I/we pop off to Birmingham and yesterday that is what us girls did!

My off day was yesterday so since we havent been to B'ham this whole Summer, we took off for a fun day of lunch and shopping to get ready for school!

We met LaLa and spent some time with her and enjoyed the day!

This is the only picture I snapped but it says so much! Lily in her most favorite store...with a squish toy and Starbucks. Living her best life!

We had dinner with Gran and Ben on Monday night, and I took no pictures so these days...story of my life. Mainly because I have two girls that wont let me take a picture of them! :)

3 Things!

 It's that time, 3 things!

Alexis!

1. She is loving the Summer life right now. Her favorite thing, cheer is still happening but it isnt full force so she still gets to do that and see her friends. Sleeping late is her jam, spending the night with friends is more her jam and having a slow pace and not much on the agenda except things she wants to do is her biggest jam! :)

 

2. She is absolutely loving that she is a Varsity cheerleader! It is all that she talks about and how she is a Freshman! She loves being 'older!' :)

 

3. Instagram and tiktok lover. She has become a fan because she can see other people and learn new ways to do makeup or hair. And of course new dances on tiktok, though she doesnt have an account, she learns from her friends.

Lily!

1. Watermelon lover! She grew one watermelon last Summer and this Summer she has 15 growing so far! She takes such good care of them! She waters them everyday and checks on them to make sure they are happy as they grow!

 

2. Summer REC. This girl wants to do alllll things camp. Any camp. Pick a camp. She doesnt care what camp she wants to do it! She loves learning and the interaction and everything the camps are about! Sign her up!

 

3. Teen age is happening. Oh my goodness...she is developing...not only in teen ways...attitude ways...just all the ways. The sweet little Lily is becoming teenage Lily right before my eyes. It happened around the same time for Alexis so at least I know what to expect and I think I am a little more prepared for Lily as compared to Alexis because it was such a new world for me. But...it is. It is happening. She is no longer little in any shape or form. She is becoming a teen.

Our weekend!

 Our weekend was pretty full....with all things Misty!

We started off Friday...somewhat celebrating Misty since her 40th is Wednesday because she didnt know she had a surprise party coming Saturday!

So Friday night we hit up the Jville square for Mongos dinner {which was delicious!} and then a night on the square with the car show, BINGO and ice cream!

Then Saturday was full of house cleaning and then gearing up for the surprise party!

Emily and I picked up Misty and stalled her until time to get her to Hubbards. We had a great dinner and loved catching up with everyone!

Lex enjoyed a spend the night party with all of her girlfriends so about 10 of them had fun while we were gone!

Sunday was Church, lunch and then all things school since it was tax free weekend so I braved shopping to get all of that done!

Nothing better than a Friday night on our square and BINGO!

Lily and Summer REC camp!

 Lily loves the JSU REC center Summer camps so now that our Summer has slowed down, some.........though it is almost time for it to end, she has been going!

I just thought she looked SO cute this morning with all the things Summer camp packed and ready to go!

Every morning she packs her own lunch....and snacks....her swimsuit and towel, sunscreen, etc. She does it all and is ready to pop in my car! :)

Lex is all things cheer practice and cheer workouts three days a week....

so I have two busy girls doing what they love!

Our new love...pickle ball!

 SO crazy thing!

A group of co-workers, that I no longer work with directly, reached out to me to see if I would like to learn pickle ball with them!

So...mainly because I wanted to hang with them....I said yes!

Well, our first practice was yesterday and I loved it! 

Pickle ball was so fun!

We all had a great time catching up and learning to play!

So, I call Tyler as I am leaving and he asks me if I enjoyed learning. My response was 'yes!' and then he goes........'Okay, so you want to go play with this couple he knows at 7:00pm?' {Mind you...it was after 6 and I hadnt eaten anything or gone home....} but I said yes! 

So, Tyler and I load up....{with my one afternoon of learning and HIM NOT even having known about pickle ball} to head to the JSU tennis courts and we play 4 games of pickle ball!

For Tyler to have never played at ALL....he did good! I think I did good too.....just saying!

It seems we are starting a new love for pickle ball!

Whats funny is how I went from no pickle ball to FULL on pickle ball in one day! If it were to be what killed me......then, I can say I went out hard! ha!

Summer swimming for a 7 1/2 birthday!

 Camille wasnt able to have her 7th birthday party because of COVID so she had a 7 1/2 birthday party instead!

She hasnt ever gotten to have a swim party because of her birthday being in the winter so she was pumped and allll the kiddos enjoyed the swim!

These two and the birthday girl photo bomber are like sisters! They have so much fun together!

We got there early per the birthday girl's request so mine had longer to swim and they loved it before everyone else got there!

A nice way to end a Sunday afternoon!

Alexis' friends night for her bday!

 We always tend to have multiple birthday parties just because of us being gone, normally, and we have a family and then friends party!

So last night....Lex had her friends over and though she would have loved to have had like 20 girls over.... unfortunately Tyler and I just cant hold that many...especially when she wants to go to dinner and a movie and then have them all spend the night.

So....she compromised and picked her favs....

and though she still wanted more friends and we heard some friends were upset they were not invited....the crew that 'made it' had a blast and I think Lex had a great birthday!

We decided on pizza and cake at home before heading to the Mall to do some shopping before the Minions movie!

They loved the movie even though I have to say...it really wasnt my favorite. I think the other past movies were better but there were still some really funny moments and Alexis had a great time so that is what counts!

We got home super late since we went to a late movie. My hopes were they would go to sleep since it was after 10:00pm.............BUT....of course....that didnt happen. I heard them around 1:30am still laughing but then either I finally passed out or they actually went to sleep around then. :) I have to say......they were really good and not rowdy....so that was a plus! :)

Syd wasnt able to spend the night because she had volleyball camp. Keashia came over once we were home to spend the night and Carli called them since she had to leave for a softball tournament and had to miss. Its a busy busy time but thankful everyone was able to make our girl feel special on her birthday!
