Doodle!

Alexis officially has 3 days left of her 1st grade year!

Time has just flown....    really, flying!

Beginning last week, the pencils and notebooks have been put to rest and Alexis has been having nothing but fun and freedom the last past couple of school days!

She has had field day, fun day, and today was Vocabulary parade and then she still has water day too!

Today was her 2nd annual Vocabulary parade. Last year was her first year and I have to say, I wasnt too sure what it was all about!

But now that I know, it is a cute little way to help the kids know how to expand their vocabulary....hence, vocabulary parade! :)

This year Alexis chose the word 'doodle!'

She LOVED getting to draw and decorate her outfit for it!

That girl LOVES to draw and color so this word was meant for her!

She was SO proud of her outfit!!  She said 'Mommy, take a picture of the front and back of my outfit because it is so cool!' :)

If you can notice............Lily has her shoes on the wrong feet! :) She is notorious for doing that and sometimes argues with me that they are actually indeed on the correct foot! OH me!

Things I love right now...

I love that Lily and Alexis have the bond that they do. I just sit and stare at them half the time and just wish I had that bond with a sister like they have. Listening to their conversations together {especially when Lily is deep into the convo with her} just cracks me up and makes me smile!

I love that just yesterday, Alexis was such a sweet big sister and helped get Lily some water in a cup since she couldnt reach and when Alexis gave it to her, Lily said "Thank you Sissy" with the sweetest little voice.

I love that Aubie lets Lily do anything and everything to him. Now what I mean by that is Lily can pick him up {in weird ways} and carry him around, and he just lets her. He will curl up in her lap every.single.morning. when she wakes up and watches cartoons with her!

I love how it is getting darker later and love watching my girls explore outside and us get to enjoy being outside and biking, etc now that it is spring. Just the other day Tyler and I both took off work on a random Tuesday {just for the heck of it} and went bike riding together. It could not have been more of a perfect perfect day to ride and just be outside together. I love that Tyler and I have the bond that we do that we just enjoy being with each other! We love livin and enjoying life together!

I love how I get excited every Thursday night that Scandal comes on. Now if you dont know, we have soooo much going on that we dont hardly ever watch a show on the actual day that it aires. We always watch it a day or two later. Well..................not with Scandal! Thursday night, there better be nothing in my way when Scandal comes on! :) :)  I am VERY excited {and so is Tyler, though he wont openly admit it} about the Bachelorette coming on next week for a new season. We love to watch that the most too!
I also love that we as a family love watching Dancing with the Stars and American Idol. My girls get so into the singing and dancing! I am sooo sad though that American Idol will be cancelling come one last season. That's right, Alexis' world came crashing down when we told her and she was sad because her dream was to be on American Idol one day! Though, that will not happen, I do see her 'in lights' one day on stage somewhere! :)

I love knowing that Lily and Alexis are happy little girls! Nothing is sweeter than Lily giving me the biggest hugs and kisses before I leave every morning when I drop her off at her school and her so excited and ready to start her day and then also seeing Alexis off in the mornings during drop off car rider line. And, it never fails, every day when Alexis comes in from school, the first thing she does is tell me all about her day and how much fun she had! {And always shows me some type of artwork that she did that she just loves!} I have been told by multiple people on different occasions {and about both girls} that they are 'full of life.' For that to be said about both of them just makes me smile. I hope that they are always 'full of life!'
I love that Alexis has successfully completed her 1st grade year with flying colors! She needs to work on the 'not talking so much' category, but overall, she has done amazing and I can not wait to see her in 2nd grade!

It cracks me up how Lily is! What I mean by that...here are two great examples! The other day...she pooped in her panties {out on the playground which is her favorite spot!!} :) Well, as they were pulling up into the drive way, Lily tells Tyler that she doesnt want to tell me about what she had done. Well, Tyler tells her that I am going to know when I see her carrying in the 'poop bag.' So, what does Lily do, she goes and hides the 'poop bag' behind Tyler's kayak and walks on in to the kitchen like nothing even happened!   Or like tonight, Miss Leslie was over and Nan had made banana nut bread. I gave Leslie a piece to take home and Lily LOVES it so she told Leslie 'You dont want that, it is yucky!' to get her to give it to her! She is such a stinker!! :)

I am excited, but nervous, that I found out I will have 18 little ones this coming up football season on the cheer squad! I am very much looking forward to my 2nd season as coach and cant wait to see these little cheerleaders shine!

Well....I know that there is more {that just isnt coming to me right now} that I am lovin right now and there are also things that I am anxious, concerned over that I wont go all into because it is nothing 'major' or 'life shattering' and therefore nothing that I need to waste time worrying about. I just always hope to remember my favorite bible verse/quote which is:

There is always always always something to be thankful for.............   :)

Auburn bound for Mal's big day and Mother's day!

I had a great Mother's Day this year.

I am very thankful that I have a sweet husband who said 'today is your day' and therefore I got to have my special day!

We headed to my most favorite place on the planet!......Auburn!!

Yes, it is not typical that I would have chosen Auburn to go to on Mother's day but because a certain special girl was graduating....it helped to be the reason that we went down there!! :)

We got up and ready and headed down to be at my favorite restaurant  {Amsterdam Cafe} right when the doors opened.

Well........

We were there literally right when the doors opened only to find out that it was reservation only to have lunch there.

Should have known....it was Mother's Day and graduation day too!.....

So, change of plans! No big deal, there are a TON of other places I love too so we ate at Tazikis!

And...YUM! :)

After lunch...we did some shopping and picture taking and sight seeing {because Auburn changes every time we go down there} :)

Then it was time to head to Mallory's Pinning ceremony! She completed Nursing School!

I am SO proud of her!! She has worked so hard and I know that nursing school is sooo hard, and she did it!

It was so special to see her pinned and to celebrate her!

We decided not to stay for her graduation since it started so late and the girls were ready to not have to sit still and quiet any longer so we ended up heading home after the ceremony and of course walking around by Toomer's corner for some more pictures first!

It was a great day with my little family of four! :)

The two girls made me a mommy! I am so beyond blessed and thankful that God has chosen me to guide them and love them. I want nothing more than for me to be their biggest role model and for them to look at me as an example on how to live their life best. {No pressure on me at all} :)
I know that I am not perfect, but I hope they always know that I am trying my best and looking out for them the best I can and that I am their number 1 fan too! I love them beyond words can express!

 And this guy helped make me a mommy too! I love him more than words can express too!! :)

I cant get over that Alexis has been dancing for four years now!

Time has really really flown!

She just gets more beautiful every year that she dances!

This performance by FAR though was my most favorite of her!

She just shined up on stage!

She had her beautiful smile on the whole time and she just glided along to the dance so beautifully!

She did an amazing job!

The girls had alot of people come watch them perform!...and they all brought them flowers! Alexis wanted me to divide them all up at first into separate vases but then turned around and said she wanted me to put them all in one big huge vase!.............so I did! :)
Mommy, Daddy, Aunt LaLa, Meagan, Aunt Brandi, Nan, Pawpaw, Aunt Pam, Richard, Ben, Gran and Nannie all came and watched! We took up a lot of seats! :)

Saturday marked Lily's first ballet recital!

She did a GREAT job!

She was so precious up there as she did her routine!

She made SURE she stayed on her 'spot!' She kept looking down to make sure she was on it! :) {I think because she had it drilled in her head from her teacher Mrs. Jessica saying to her so much} :) :)

The smile on her face as she danced was just priceless!!!................PRICELESS!!

Everywhere from A to Z...

Whew, we have been busy the past couple of days.

Not getting home and in bed til past our bedtimes!

We are worn out!

But, we have done a TON of fun things lately! :)

We have had a great week and weekend! PACKED full of a TON of events! And, yes, tired is the word but blessed!
Thursday, we had the girls regular dance class but it was actually at the Performing Arts Center to get ready for the recital!
Alexis and Lily did a great job practicing!!

After dance class, we headed home and Alexis had her very first private lessons with Miss Leslie. To say both of my girls LOVE her is an understatement!! Alexis worked so hard during practice!!

Friday marked round 2 of ballet recital practice! This time....the girls had their costumes on while they practiced!!
After ballet, we headed straight to Relay For Life at Oxford High School!
It was an awesome experience to see all the cancer survivors and those still fighting and to see all the support of the loved ones who lost their battle. It was great to be apart of the event!
Alexis was announced before it began since she is Miss Relay For Life Queen!

After this, we headed back to Jacksonville to watch Alexis' brother Nick play is baseball game! You talk about being on the gooooooo!!!......   :)

I have a whooooole lot more posts coming up! The fun hasnt stopped! We have Lily's very first recital to talk about, Alexis' fourth to talk about, a BIG trip to Auburn, spending time in my favorite place...AUBURN, and Mother's Day! Stay tuned! :) :)

{Alexis' very first recital!} Now she is 4 years into ballet already! Wow, my goodness, time flies!!

Graduation moment...

Tonight was the little graduation at Kids First for the little ones that will be moving on to Kindergarten next year.

It was a really sweet and fun 'show' that all the kids put on!

Lily's little class sang 3 songs and Lily did AWESOME!

She did the motions and sang the songs! There was a part in one of the songs where she had to turn in a circle! Buddy, you talk about nailing the turn! :) She got it!

The theme for the graduation performance was a baseball theme. They had a really cute baseball stadium background that had been painted!

She did SO good! On her first song, they walked out with little umbrella hats! It was so cute!

Alexis and Carli came in support of their little sisters! Poor Callie {Carli's little sister and Lily's 'best friend' per her} cried the entire time! {She did the same thing last year too} :(
