Christmas Day!!!

Since we went to bed way past our bed times on Christmas Eve....Daddy and I had to wait...and wait....for the girls to wake up! It was killing me!! :) But finally...they did....and Santa came!!!
**Funny story!...the day before (Christmas Eve morning...Alexis comes crying in our bedroom saying Santa forgot about her!! She said but Mommy, he forgot about Lily too..and she is always good! ha! (OHHH me!!)
I explained to her that he was coming tomorrow morning not today! Well..Alexis goes "Mommy, you said he was coming in two days..and today is day 2. So, I had to explain more that Santa didnt forget about them, and that he comes tonight (Christmas Eve) when she sleeps and so I think she understood, because Christmas morning she was soooo excited that he had come!!

Santa brought alot of fun things....such as a new (fake) kitty cat for Alexis. She has been begging for a cat...well we are not having a real cat for awhile for a number of reasons...so a fake cat is what she got! ;)
and the most fun thing...a trampoline!! The girls were so excited and Alexis was soo funny! She said that she did a great job making cookies and that Santa loved them because he ate them all!
After seeing what all Santa brought...we got cleaned up and went and had Christmas with Nan and Pawpaw. Nan had a great lunch ready for us and we opened presents with them.
Christmas Day night we went over to Nannie's house for dinner and did presents with everybody there. We had just got done with that............when the stomach bug hit Tyler :(.....but despite that we had a great Christmas!! :)

Christmas Eve

This was our first Christmas in years that we did not have to travel. I didnt know what to do with just being able to go down the road and then get to be at home right away!...especially with it being so cold and raining and with both girls WORN out!!
Christmas Eve day we just relaxed around the house since I had the stomach bug watching Christmas cartoons and making cookies for Santa! (While Daddy worked ALL day on Santa stuff!!)
Christmas Eve night we went to First Baptist Church of Jacksonville for their Christmas Eve service. It was beautiful! I loved that we got to go to church and do the true meaning of Christmas. Alexis got to stay out with us to enjoy it! She made me nervous with the lit candle but it was so special to have her with us and to see how excited she was and to watch her as we sang the Christmas carols. She even took her first Communion too! She wasnt sure of what to do but she followed along great except for drinking the grape juice before she was supposed to! :)
After church we went to Gran's to eat dinner and open Christmas presents from her. Nannie and Hogan and Pam and Brandon joined us to eat and do presents too! After all of that....we headed home with two sleepy girls, put out the cookies and milk for Santa and went to bed!

week in a nutshell!

This week has been filled with alot of Christmas memories! We had our very first Christmas in our new home and we are so thankful for it! I loved getting the house decorated and having that warm cozy holiday feeling! Daddy worked soooo hard helping Santa with the trampoline and getting everything ready for Christmas day! We were hit with the stomach bug while we have been out for Christmas vacation. It started with Lily..and was passed to me and then Tyler. So far, Alexis has been in the clear. Lily had to go to the doctor yesterday and my sweet baby got her first "sick shot" :( She has bronchitis and an upper respiratory infection. So needless to say we have been resting alot around here, which has been nice! I cant believe this is the last week of 2012. The year really has flown by! We have had alot of change in year 2012 with the Law Family and I am just so blessed with everything the Lord has done and continue to do with our family. I can not wait to see what 2013 brings!

Alexis lately....

I havent done a post on Alexis in awhile like I have Lily to document what all she has been up to/saying these days! Let me first start off by saying Alexis is a mess! :) The other day I told her that there was..."one and only Alexis!" .............and she goes..."No Mommy, there are two Alexis' but only 1 me!" (She was talking about her friend Nick's sister is Alexis too!)....but yep she is SO right, there is only 1 her! :)
She absolutely loves mushrooms and tomotoes (that she calls potatoes..no matter how many people or times you correct her...she will still say "those potatoes were so good!) :)
**She also always says "Mommy my belly is woggaling!!" (I know I didnt spell that right!!)... I LOVE how she says woggaling!! (Her belly is growling!) ...when she is hungry...(which she is always hungry!!) :)
These days she is wanting to be my helper more and more everyday. I dont know why this is just now really kicking in, but everything I do now, she wants to help me. Especially cooking....every time I go in the kitchen and she thinks I am about to cook something, she comes running in to help me do it!
She has started telling everyone that she is 5! She still has until July to turn 5...but to her she thinks she is closer to age 5, and 5 is sooooo big, so she has decided she is already 5! (I use this against her though when she starts whining or something...and I say, well since you think you are 5 you better act like it! hahaha!)
She is obsessed...obsessed....with clothes and SHOES!! I can not keep her out of her closet and drawers!! She will go in her room and change outfits...and then 10 mins later she has on something different! I find shoes every.where. from where she wears a pair for a little bit and then puts a different pair on! The other day I went to check on her in her playroom...and she was sitting in there coloring with a dress on...with shorts on under it and a pair of her church dress shoes on! The other night (and this was just soooo funny)...When we put Lily down for bed, we then get Alexis ready for bed and let her watch a movie until her bedtime. Well, I walk in her room and immediately see that she has on a headband and is laying very proper and straight in her bed with her comforter tucked just perfectly around her. I think the headband is odd b/c it is bedtime....she shouldnt have a headband on. Well, I tell her to lay down to go to bed as I am taking the headband off and notice that she is having a really hard time laying down. So, I pull the comforter back...and low and behold, she had put on a pair of her dress pants OVER her pj pants...and had a pair of boots on!! (No wonder she couldnt move under the covers b/c she could barely move her legs with the tight pants over her pj pants and with the boots on!) I asked her why she had on all of that..and she said "I dont know, I just wanted to look nice".........and what do you say after that???..........
Her little mouth still never closes...she loves...loves to sing and dance still! It is so cute to watch her and then watch Lily try and copy what she is doing! :)
She loves to watch all of her Disney movies and can quote....and sing....from all of them! Her most favorite Disney movie is Ratatouille, then The Little Mermaid and close third is The Chipmunk movie! She has alot of movies, but those three have been worn out!!
She loves to color and write. She writes her name and letters so well and can color and stay in the lines better than I can!
She has to have her fingernails and toenails painted at all times. She will beg me a thousand times a day to paint her nails until I do it! If I miss a spot painting...she will let me know it to correct it! They have to be just perfect to her liking! :)
She is a ball of energy and just so full of life! :)

Law Family Christmas 2012

We had the Law family Christmas today! Tyler's mom and dad had everyone over for lunch at their house. We enjoyed some really yummy food and then everyone enjoyed catching up! Tyler's Grandad opened his presents with a little help from Lily!

We have had a great week this week! For it to be the week before Santa comes, it has gone by fast! I thought for sure this week would drag on since I am ready for Christmas break! We havent done much this week since it has been rainy and starting to get REALLY cold. We loaded up Wednesday night and took the girls to look at Christmas lights around town. Alexis loved seeing all of the different color lights and blow ups! Thursday Alexis and Lily had their Christmas parties at school! Alexis had a pajama Christmas party! She doesnt really like pjs...(she is always ready to get out of her pjs and put on her regular clothes during the weekends!)...but she had fun wearing her pjs for her party though! The girls ate yummy snacks and opened presents from their friends and teachers! They even got to have a rare treat of watching a movie!
Alexis was soooo excited that she opened her gift and it was a new Ariel doll!! She loves The Little Mermaid!! Lily's class had a book swap. She got a cute little Santa book!

Morris Family Christmas 2012

Sunday we loaded up and headed to Birmingham for Nannie's side of the family's Christmas. This year we had it at Lana's farmhouse right down from her house. It rained soooo hard on us the whole time we drove but we were still glad to we went to see everybody and eat some good food! Nannie has a brother and sister, Wayne and Bobbie. Wayne has two girls...plus their families and Bobbie has three girls plus their families. Not to mention Nannie and her three girls and their families! We had alot of people even though not everybody was able to make it this year.

 These three above are the reason we have the Morris Family Christmas. Nannie, Wayne and Bobbie!
