I have learned in the "blogger world" about Wordless Wednesdays...where the picture or video does all the talking...and throw back Thursdays...where you post something from WAY back when for a "look back in time." Well...when I heard about this...I just had to do it especially since that is the title of my blog! ;)
So...for a "look back in time!"....
This was Alexis' first snow!! This was Daddy and Lexie in Birmingham...in our first home! :)
Since it is January....and "snow season"...I thought this was a great picture!!

back roads and country songs...
I love days like today! When there are blue skies and puffy white big clouds and the car thermoter says 71! On my way home this afternoon, I had the sunroof back and the radio up! I have found myself switching the station more and more to the XM Country station. Now dont get me wrong...I drive alot with no music on...just in pure silence...and I LOVE it...pure silence..it is nice! Especially when I get home to loudness! :)
But, when I do want to "crank" up the music, County seems to win out! I love all genres of music...well you know most of it, not heavy medal stuff though! ha!
Have you ever listened to a good ole country song? You can find some good life answers in them sometimes!! I am serious...listen to it!
For example:
"I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean...whenever one door closes...I hope one more opens"
Talk about WOW!....that is some good stuff to think about and remember! I could go on and on with lyrics from some great songs!
You can find me in the afternoons...cruising down the back roads....listening to some good ole Country!

Livin life...
This week has been a pretty busy one. I dont know why...but when I have a short week due to a holiday...I cant seem to get caught up from it. For example, my days are off. On Tuesday, I think it is Monday..etc. I do LOVE short weeks because that means I am closer to the weekend though! :)
Monday we enjoyed MLK day off. Tuesday was back to the grind of work/school. We had dinner over at Pam's house to catch up with the family. Wednesday was Awana night! Alexis just loves this night every week! Thursday we had dinner with Nan an Pawpaw.
I started a book study Thursday night with a bunch of great woman that I have met. I am really excited about it! The book is called "Unglued." It is about helping you learn to become less "unglued" in situations where you feel you are about to! (Judging by the first night of studying this book with the girls....I think I am going to learn alot!) I just hope for myself that I will/can apply what I am learning to my everyday life! I am holding myself accountable! :)
And Friday night we went to dinner with Mom and Ben. I have loved this week because I have had a break in the kitchen department! :)
And today....whew today is Saturday! We have continued the "going..going...going" today. Alexis was so excited about Ella's birthday party today! We have never been to the Imagination Place in Gadsden, but it was such a cute place! It was set up as sections for the kids to just go crazy! There was a section that was made into a bank...a grocery store...a tree house....a doctor's office.... etc! OH... my girls had soooo much fun! Lily was just having a ball! She thought she was sooo grown up! It was a great little party and Ella is such a cutie! We had lunch after at our favorite..Popeyes...and then we did some shopping before we headed home to relax! Alexis played so hard today that I went into her room only to find her passed out on her bed sound asleep tonight! So now...Tyler and I are curled up watching a UFC fight together that Tyler loves. (I am a great wife for watching this with him!) :)
Tomorrow will be church and hopefully followed by more relaxing! :)
Sweet friends! Alexis and Ella!
Little miss shopper!
OH Lily!....she was SO funny! She would take everything out of the basket..and then put it all back in...and then take it all back out again!!
Daddy and Lily ready for cake...even though Lily didnt want to put down the balls she found!

Birthday in Heaven
Today is my Dad's birthday in Heaven. I can only imagine how special and wonderful of a day he is having there. I miss him everyday and just cant believe how fast time has flown...that it has been almost 3 years since he past already. He was the best dad and best Pops and I am so thankful to know that I can look up and know that he is smiling down on me. I love and miss you Dad, happy birthday.
This was our last trip together. Nannie surprised everyone and took us all on a cruise! We had sooo much fun and made so many memories! I am so thankful Nannie took us all on this trip to Cozumel Mexico!
My Dad was soooo excited to become Pops! He loved Alexis more than anything and I could just see the joy and happiness in his face everytime he was around her!
This is such a great picture of him to me!
This was Alexis' first Easter. We took this picture at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham when they and Tyler's parents came to church and visited with us.
My Dad loved to go down to the beach to stay at their condo! ** I will never forget taking these beach pictures! Dad was in such a bad mood because he said "We are at the beach and I dont want to get dressed up and wear this!".............well........these pictures are priceless now...and SO glad I MADE him wear this and take pictures! :)
This was the very last picture taken of my Dad. This was at Alexis' 2nd birthday party. He died a couple of weeks after this picture was taken, July 22, 2010. It was the day before mine and Tyler's five year wedding anniversary......

Makes my heart smile
I find myself daily getting caught up in the "big picture" of life ~ the "grand scheme" of things. But, life isnt always about the "big" picture...the little things really do matter the most! I wanted to "document" for my memory's sake some things lately that have made my heart smile!
~One of the biggest things that makes my heart smile soooo much is when I pick up the girls in the afternoons. I absolutely love when I walk through the door to get Lily and she comes running to me with a huge smile on her face and her arms out stretched for me to pick her up! It makes me so happy inside that she is so excited to see me! ~ On the same note....when I walk out to get Alexis...she comes running to me from the playground screaming "Mommy...Mommy!"
~My heart smiles sooo big when every afternoon, when I cook, Alexis asks to help me. She always asks questions on how to do things...how to stir...how you make this or that...etc....she wants to learn and is truly loving being up there with me cooking! The most sweet thing that brings a smile to my heart is when we are eating....she will tell me how good whatever I cooked is and that she loves for me to cook! I just love how she is so genuine and caring when she says it! (It makes all the "slaving" away in the kitchen and the mess of a cleanup much more enjoyable to do knowing that it was all worth it for them!)
~Seeing Alexis and Lily interacting/playing together makes my heart smile too! I just love how Lily is getting older and able to interact with Alexis more and more. Lily loves to do everything Alexis does! I just love to watch them interact and be sisters!
~One of the most precious things that brings a smile to my heart is listening to Alexis sing after we put her to bed at night. For about 30 minutes every night...she will just sing..and sing! She sings herself to sleep! She goes from one song..to another song..back to another song ...then to a next song! We never know what we are going to hear her in there singing! Tyler paused the TV the other night..and we sat in the living room and listened to her sing ...and we just cracked up at her! She was singing a Christmas song (even though it is not Christmas anymore)...the song "Noel..Noel"! She sings so beautiful too...she can really hit some good notes!! :)
~This morning made my heart smile SO big! Pretty much every morning, I am gone before the girls ever get up. Well, this morning..either the girls woke up extra early....or I woke up extra late :) .....but I got to see the girls this morning. I went into Lily's room and as soon as I walked in I heard her (in her most sweet...excited...soft...little...voice ...saying "Daddeee ...Daddeee!" She is always use to Tyler getting her up and it was soooooo soooooo sweet to me to hear her calling his name and so excited for him to be getting her! Well, when I cut her lamp on and she saw that it was me, she smiled so big and was so excited to see me too!
~Also this morning...as I was about to walk out the door, Alexis came into the kitchen. As soon as she walked around the corner....she just looked so beautiful to me! Her daddy had brushed her hair so neatly and fixed it into the most perfect ponytail! It made my heart smile because he took the extra time (that come on...you know men dont...especially to fix a girl's hair)....to put her hair up like she wanted into an adorable ponytail! He did such a great job on it and just the little things like that just pulled at my heart strings! :)
In my almost 31 years of life...I have learned that life is so short! You should always...always be thankful and treasure the little things that makes your heart smile!

A Day in the life....
A Day in the life of a Princess...or two! We have enjoyed our long weekend, even though both girls were up at 5:30 this morning ready to go! I could not even tell you what it use to be like to sleep late! :) We had most of our day played and done before most people were even out of bed on this holiday Monday! The girls have enjoyed playing dress up this morning....cooking in their kitchen....coloring...watching movies...playing doctor...and back to dress up! That is exactly the way a day in the life of a Princess should be!
Lily cracked me up watching her try and walk in Alexis' Princess slippers! She got to be pretty good at walking in them by lunch time! ha!
This is Alexis dressed in her Princess attire! ............this picture was taken at 7:00 am...so yes we still had our pjs on..and the hair was not brushed yet! :)
And here is Lily wearing her Princess attire too! She is sooo cute walking in her "glass slippers!" :)

Sunshine oh how we love you!
Once the flood finally ended this week, the weekend has come and it has been beautiful so far! We had four straight days of nothing but rain and no sunshine and cold! Talk about starting to feel moldy and pale! To cap the end of the week we did have some snow too. Strange ole Alabama weather...the very next day was in low 60s and sunshine! It has been an interesting week with the weather to say the least...but at least it looks like the Law household is finally all feeling better..FINALLY!!
This week was some what low key for us since we have all still been trying to get our energy back from all being sick and because we would have needed a boat to go outside as well! ; )
Alexis had Awanas Wednesday night where she got another patch for her vest! She was so proud to show me it when she got home!
Friday night I had a WAY past due dinner night with Misty! Kelly ended up not being able to come, so Misty and I met and caught up! Girl time is great sometimes to "recharge"!.....
Today was the day that Alexis has been waiting on ALL week! Everyday since Monday she would ask me when Saturday was going to get here! We left this morning and hit the road to Birmingham. It was great to get back to our old stomping ground for a little bit! We did some shopping before we met the Rigney's for lunch at Superior Grill. Talk about some great Mexican food! Yum!! Alexis was soooo excited to see Payton! We took the kids to Treetop to play for a little while and then headed to their house after to catch up! It is always fun to hang out with them!
We have a long weekend with it being Martin Luther King weekend. I am looking forward to having Monday off to enjoy spending more family time together and relaxing!
Little Miss Lily carrying around all of her purses...she usually has more than 2 that she carries! ha!
Nan got Lily some new gloves and when I tried them on her...she didnt know what to do! It was SO funny to watch her with them on! She just stared at her hands...and then she would try and move her fingers. It was hilarious!
The crew was back together again! This is the first picture of everybody! The last picture we made...Lily was just a baby and Eva wasnt born yet! Now look how grown everybody is! :)

The best Piano player and Tapper in the world! :)
This girl is cracking me up today! She has been trying to copy every talent she has seen on the Miss America pageant! I think she won the "most talented" ............in my opinion....and I am not biased at all! :)
**After 3 shoe changes from her closet to find the pair that "Makes the loudest sound Mommy"...she did her tap dance...she has done her Piano performance...and her twirl performance with her Baton also!
Here is Miss Alabama....Alexis Kayte Law...........doing her Piano and Tap dance performance for you all to enjoy! :)

Alexis, Lily and I have been watching the Miss America pageant today and Alexis decided that she wanted to "act" like the girls on TV....so she just started busting out the Pledge of Allegiance! She is pretty good!...this is the first time I even heard her saying it! ha!
**I think us staying at home all weekend and not doing a thing is starting to get to all of us! :) .....I think we need to get some fresh air! ha! :)
**I just pressed record........and she did ALL the talking!...........I have no idea what she is saying in some of it....but she just started talking away! haha!............at the end....I dont know what she said "if you love" ??? ...but if you love it....call her! *****

sick. and. sick. and. ughhh. sick.
This week has been a rough one for us. We have just gotten over the stomach bug....and Lily having bronchitis/upper respiratory infection....but THIS week....has just been one that is going down in history to be a not so great one!
Tyler woke up Monday morning and went to the doctor when he finally could get out of bed, only to find out that he has Mono!....I know...Mono! Crazy right!? He has been miserable! He was out of work for two days with that....and should have been out longer if truth be told! He is still not feeling 100% but he is resting alot and getting better!
I woke up feeling bad this week, so I went to the good ole doc only to find out that bronchitis had been passed down to me :( I was out of work two days too! Well, Thursday (the last day I was going to be out...I was going to make myself go back to work today...) I got a call from Lily's school that she had a fever and that I needed to come pick her up! I made an appointment and guess what!?!? THE FLU! Yep...the Flu! With the Flu shot and everything! OH happy day right!? So, Friday I took off again....(so three days now in one week all for sickness) I have never been off three days in a row...EVER...for sickness!...now to go to the beach...YES!
So....we are all trying to recover...and hopefully all of the nasty sick bugs will leave us alone! I am ready for 2013 to finally be sick free for a little bit at least! Thank the good Lord though, Alexis has not had one single anything that all the rest of us have had! Talk about one strong little girl! Thank you, thank you! Dr. Sabens gave me a prescription to start giving her so hopefully she wont get the Flu from Lily! Keep your fingers crossed...and Tyler and I too! :)
Look at ALL of this mess!........and Tyler's medicine isnt even in this picture! I hope something in here is helping!!
We have been doing alot of this!! Sweet baby!........the more rest the better!

Growing like a weed!
Lily is 16 months this week! She is growing up so fast! She understands the world around her more and more everyday. She knows what she wants/likes and what she doesnt.
She has added more vocabulary these days....much to which none of us can understand at all, but she knows exactly what she is saying!
She has added the word dog and huh? to her list that we can understand!
She is full swing into running now. She is full force ahead!
She has just started to be interested in movies/cartoons. Alexis by this age LOVED Mickey Mouse clubhouse and whenever the song would come on...she would start dancing...Lily, has been just too busy with everything else to be interested in sitting down!
She loves to grab some of Alexis' markers ...or crayons and color. She will just scribble and scribble!
She constantly has to have a purse or two or five around her arms and neck at all times. She will walk around the house with them dragging around her!
She loves Alexis to push her in their doll stroller. It is soooo funny to watch this! Lily will go sit in it..and point to Alexis for her to push her. She will lift her legs up too so they dont drag the ground! ha!
She is obsessed with mine or Tyler's computer. We can not leave them for a second because she will be over there "typing"!
Happy 16 months Lily bug! :)
I love how she has her little feet crossed while she is eating! :)
And this is how you can find her most afternoons these days!....she thinks she is so "big" to get to sit up on the couch by herself. She MUST have her toys...her house shoes...and her blanket up there with her at all times. She will stand by the couch, with all of her stash and say" up Up UP"...until you put her up there! I have had to get on to her some though...because she thinks she can stand up on the couch! ...or throw everything off the couch and then wants you to pick it up and give it back to her or she will throw a little fit! :)
She is just not quite big enough yet to get up there by herself...but when that day comes, she is going to be in hog heaven! :)
**but yes she can get down by herself...which makes it a pain for Mommy because I have to then turn around and put her back up there! ha!

This is how we....
This is how we do things at the Law house!
This is how we relax!!
**sweet story...Alexis was curled up with her blanket on her bing bag watching cartoons...and so Lily decided she wanted to drag her blanket and her little chair... at the same time....all the way.... from the living room to the playroom to sit and get under her blanket like her sis! :)
This is how we dress to a "T" to go to church!
This is how we love to cook!
Alexis helped me break off the loose pieces from the brussell sprouts...and Lily was helping to take them out of the pan to try and eat them!
This is how we relax!!

Alexis helped me break off the loose pieces from the brussell sprouts...and Lily was helping to take them out of the pan to try and eat them!

1st week in 2013...
Well, the first week in 2013 has already come and gone. It is crazy how time flies so fast! So far, the first week of the new year for us has been a great one. Lily is finally getting over her bronchitis/upper respiratory infection, and the stomach bug has left our home also! (Thank you...thank you!!). Tyler and the girls got adjusted back into the groove of going back to work/school since their Christmas vacation was over this week. I am sooo jealous that they get off as long as they do...while I have to work!!
Hazel came over to our house this week to give the girls their gifts from her since we didn't get a chance to go visit since we all were sick during Christmas. She is sooo thoughtful! She got Lily a pair of the cutest sock monkey house shoes and Alexis got a beautiful purple butterfly necklace. Both gifts were perfect for each girl! Hazel loved the scarf that the girls got her also! :) I thought Awanas started back this week....but when Tyler took Alexis, we found out it is next week! Alexis was so sad that she didnt get to go!
Thursday, I took the girls to Birmingham with me so they could spend the day with LaLa and Meagan! So sad Mal had to work! :( They all enjoyed the McWayne Center! The girls had SO much fun there. Lana said she couldn't get them to leave!
Thank goodness today is Friday though! haha....!!!...I love the weekends! I am just ready for it to start being warmer weather though!!..........I do NOT like cold weather! :)
Alexis loved playing in the snow at the McWayne Science Center!
Lily's favorite thing was playing in the water tub with all of the water toys!
Meg was such a great babysitter!! :)
And....the McWayne Center wore the girls out!..........even Alexis (who always thinks she doesn't need a nap...couldn't fight it!)...and look at Miss Sassy with her legs crossed and all!! :)

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! May everyone's new year be the best yet!
I had to work on New Years Eve :(... but when I got off work, I headed home to get the girls ready and we all went to Logans to meet Mom, Pam and Ben for dinner. After we finished eating, the girls went with everyone else over to Pam's house to watch Dick Clark's New Years Eve show while Tyler and I had a movie date!
When we got over to Pam's house two little girls were tired so we headed home and Tyler and I actually made it until 11:30 before we just couldn't stay up any longer! ha! Talk about feeling old! ha!
New Year's Day was soooo nasty! It rained the entire day and was so cold! We ended up canceling all plans and just hung out at home in our pajamas all day watching movies and playing games together! It was nice to not have to rush off anywhere for one day and just relax, because the next day was back to work and school!
I can not wait to see what 2013 brings! I already know one thing that is coming in 2013...and that is Alexis will be starting Kindergarten! I just can NOT believe it is that time already! I just can't wrap my head around the fact that she is old enough for school!! May baby is officially not a baby more and more everyday!
Miss Thang 1!! You know you have to look your best to ring in the New Year!! :)
and Miss Thang 2!! You have to make sure you have on your New Years special outfit!
The two sassy pants showing off their modeling poses before we left for dinner! ha!
