"Poukin" carving and Fall Festival!

We LOVE to carve "poukins" as Alexis calls them at the Law house! Then reality comes into play..and we like to stay as far away as possible and watch Daddy carve them! haha!! This year we had a dis-functional pumpkin because it was rotted on the stem so we had to tape it to cover the hole! Oh me...way to funny! Alexis was cracking me up while Daddy was carving! She kept saying "I dont want that icky, sticky goo goo on me!" ...."keep that icky, sticky goo goo away!" (the inside of the pumpkin and the seeds!) She thought it was disgusting! (which it is :) )
Lily just didnt understand what was going on! She kept looking at the pumpkin...but she never touched it!

This picture CRACKS me up!! I promise...one of these days Alexis will be an actress and living in Hollywood! She picked up the spoon and pretended to be helping Tyler get everything out!! (because she wanted me to take her picture!!) I laughed so hard..and if you look..Tyler is too!
This is how she really was the whole time! Look how far back from the pumpkin she really is! She did NOT want any of the icky, sticky goo goo near her! She said it stinks! ha!
The finished pumpkin! Sooo..sad little pumpkin with his taped head! ha! Alexis sat by it now...that it was done!
We enjoyed Saturday afternoon at FBC of Saks with Nan, Pawpaw and Brandi at the Fall festival!  It was sooo cold but we had alot of fun! Alexis rode rides, jumped in the bouncy house, played games...and ate hot dogs! Lily slept most of the time!

Here are a couple of pictures of us carving pumpkins last year...well Daddy carving! (October 2011!!)
 Look at my babies!!

Wee Care and The Great Pumpkin Patch

Before I even start about the Pumpkin Patch...I have to say I think Alexis was more excited to ride the "school bus" (the church van) more than going to the Pumpkin patch!! All she talked about was how she couldnt wait to ride the bus! The first thing she said to me when I asked her about the pumpkin patch was.....that the school bus had a TV on it!! haha! Every time we see a school bus, she always stares at it and says she cant wait until she is big enough to ride it! (I cant wait for her to read this in a couple of years when she is actually riding one...and hates it! :) )
Soooo...on to the Pumpkin patch! Alexis' little class and teachers loaded up and headed to the patch! They had such a great time! Alexis said she had so much fun! She loved riding in the hayride, making pumpkin decorations, eating snacks and drinking hot chocolate, listening to the Great Pumpkin Patch story, being with her friends and picking out her baby pumpkin! I am glad she had so much fun on her first field trip!!

“Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.”

“Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.” - Kevin Arnold
I dont think I could sum it up any better than that quote about how first home. Our first home as a new married couple was in Birmingham, Alabama. We were married on July 23, 2005. We moved into our first home in February of 2006. We were so excited to have our first home and start our family! Before we had the kiddos, pretty much every weekend we had some sort of friend group over to cook out, play bocce ball and just hang out! There was a huge mansion on top of the mountain behind our house that would have weddings nearly every weekend. We would love to sit out on our back deck and listen to the live bands they would have playing! (Alexis would later call this mansion Cinderella's house!) Over the 6 years we lived in our first home I hosted a lot of baby showers, wedding showers, engagement parties, Halloween parties, Pictionary parties, and birthday parties! It was the home we brought both our baby girls home from the hospital- the home where Alexis had all of her "firsts" such as crawling and walking! We loved our neighbors and Birmingham! OH so many memories were made! When our house sold, Alexis was just over 3 and Lily was just born. For 4 months...I was pretty much a single mom because Tyler was in Anniston starting his new job and would only come to Birmingham one day a week and on the weekends. Boy, it was tough..but I made it through! We lived with Tyler's parents for 6 months until we finally found "the one!" We looked at a TON of homes...and each one just was never right, just never felt like "home!"....until we walked through the doors of our home now! Tyler and I didnt get down the road until we turned around and went back to make an offer on the house because we both felt it was our home! Our home now has alot of catching up to do with all the wonderful memories we made in our old house, but I am so excited to make them! So far our new home is us as a family of 4!! It has had alot of Lily's "firsts" such as her walking! We had the best time celebrating her 1st birthday party here too! This is our home, I want Alexis and Lily to make so many memories together here! I want them to look back when they are older at this house and smile because it is so special to them! I hope to one day have my grandchildren come over and visit here! (I could go on and on!!) I want Tyler and I to grow older together and watch our beautiful girls grow up in our home!
Below are pictures of our first house :)

Our home now is below! I am so proud of Tyler because a lot of our old furniture he simply painted and therefore completely changed the look!

Family bike rides!

Since we have moved into our new neighborhood, we have loved going on family bike rides together! We got Alexis a bike with training wheels for her birthday and she has learned to ride it so well! I usually walk and push Lily in her stroller. It is easier for me to help out and direct Alexis as she is riding even though Tyler keeps wanting me to ride my bike with the little seat for Lily to sit in. Maybe here soon, when I feel Alexis is more comfortable riding, I will take out my bike! Our neighborhood is just so cozy and peaceful! I love to look at all the pretty homes and beautiful wooded areas as we go! We walked some in our old neighborhood in Birmingham, but here is just so different! In our old area, the houses were all the exact same and there were only a few trees! There for sure was not a peaceful view at our old house compared to now! Tonight was a beautiful Fall afternoon! The weather was absolutely perfect to go for a ride!
The girls are ready to go! Alexis always cracks me up as we go because if she thinks she is going to fast, she will do her brakes real quick and squeal her tires!....or.....there may be a parked car like a mile ahead and if she starts going faster than she feels comfortable, she will start saying..."mommy..mommy, I am going to hit that car!!" (she is no where near the car though!)...at least she is being cautious and she also makes sure she stops at all stop signs too! Little Miss Lily just sits back and enjoys the sights..she doesnt make a peep!
Alexis wanted me to take a picture of her pedaling...and have the pretty flower in the picture too! Boy, good thing I am such a professional photographer! :)

Men!

It amazes me daily how men are SO different than women! Men really are on a whole different planet than woman on every level! It must have taken God a long while to sort through how he would develop the being of a man! Prime example below!! :) (But we gotta love them though...right!! :) )

Hogging the TV + Finger ON the remote + "I wasnt asleep...I was watching that!!" =  Typical MAN!
