This about sums it up these days! With two! I have two now! :)
Alexis is busy...
living her best life!
She is soaking up allll things DD and loving it all!
Yesterday they got together to paint their bricks..........
that she has to carry wherever she goes for the entire Summer!
I am not being biased, but hers was the cutest.......out of everyone!
So cute!We kept it low key and just relaxed at home....which is what we all needed. Tyler worked on a paper. I cleaned and washed clothes and the girls painted. They love painting canvas so they made it happen!
We enjoyed a last minute cookout with the Messers and the Rays since our original plans got all changed and it was perfection!
It kept them busy for a couple of hours!
Love my new decor!
We had plans.......
what was super funny....
Lily drew from a bag...with the options being...north, northeast, northwest, south, southeast, and southwest.
then with 2hr, 3hrs and 4hrs.
She drew southwest and 3hrs.
So...you know where our road trip was taking us?!?!!?.......................
Good ole Selma, Alabama!
Yep....
so I called Misty since we were the ones doing the road trip to tell her where we were going.......
and she died laughing! ha!
But, due to Alexis' foot and Calhoun being congested... and our road trip option.....
we ended up staying local and doing all things local.
We are cooking out this afternoon to wrap up what what would have been a road trip weekend.
Even without a road trip, it was a great one anyways!
When you have a new place in town...and they are giving away free drinks, with picking whatever you WANT.....you go!
OH...delish!
The whole crew!
I love these posts! I should have done one sooner but time just slips away!
So 3 Things!
Alexis!
2. DD Pledge! She had the biggest surprise of her life the other week night when the DD sisters woke her up to singing and confetti! :) She is so excited to start this new and fun adventure with her friends and to meet new ones!
3. Driving! The girl is soooo close to that 15 year mark to where she takes her permit test! She has the book....so cranking down and learning all the things is on her agenda so she'll be ready to start driving!
SAY WHAT!?!
Lily!
1. This one has just bloomed this year! Physically and mentally! I just cant get off how much physically she has grown but to see her excel at school has just been so great to see! She had her Academic/End of the School Year awards the other day and she came home with the 'Most Responsible' Award from her entire class. That, to me, is the best award she can get! Being responsible is a great quality and I am so proud of her!
2. All the things camp. This Summer Lily is going to some new camps like pottery camp and also ones she has done in the past. MY goodness...the girl....with alllll the questions and allllll the....'I need this for this camp, can I have this for that camp' talk! She is so excited.........and driving me crazy at the same time! :) She is so looking forward to her Summer!
3. Lily has to get 4 teeth pulled this Summer to crank up for braces. Got one out of braces just in time to get another one in! Whew! I hope the doc lets me on his yacht one day since I am buying it for him! :)
Alexis had her first surgery today and she was a trooper!
She had a minor procedure on the bottom of her foot where Dr. Padula took off a place where she stepped on an ornament during Christmas and it just hasnt healed correctly since!
She did so good for her first IV, etc!
She enjoyed chowing DOWN on Moe's after and is now soaking up the fact that we are waiting hand and foot on her for the next couple of days before she'll be as good as new!
Brave chick!
Lily was sure to tell her allll the things since she thinks she is an expert on surgeries because she has had...............one........ :)
Alexis has a soft boot to wear for a couple of days to let it heal right up!
Grey had his in of school year little graduation last night and it/he was adorable!
I cant believe he will be starting Kindergarten this Fall! Gracious!
BIG Grey supporters right here! :)
She is technically supposed to go half-days until Thursday...
but...
Im letting her skip since 'no one else is going Momma!'
So.....
I didnt get the end of the school year picture with my favorite sign.........
but I have one girl that is super pumped to be done with 5th and now considering herself a 6th grader already!
OH me! :)
Her 1st picture of the beginning of her 5th grade year!
To her LAST picture as a 5th grader! My goodness has she had a HUGE growing her this year! I cant get over the difference because Alexis never had a big one like this...so it just shocks me! :)
Alexis on her last day of her 5th grade year! Compared to Lily's picture, I feel Alexis looks like such a baby in it!
Time sure does fly!
So, Lily asked me to curl her hair this morning since it was Awards day....
and since she threw on a cute dress.......
I had to do a photoshoot!
She didnt complain about it.......mainly because Callie was over by then and Callie wanted to!
So, last day of school ...............and awards day all in one!
No more chalkboard with the end of the year stuff/ date on it.
Lily has officially outgrown in! Soo.... boo! :)
She is saying she is officially a 6th grader now! :)
She is just growing!
Best friends since they were tiny!
My favorite!
Meet the 5th grade class!
Getting her awards!
She is a hardworking, determined, loyal person who strives to do her very best in all she does! So proud of her!
I cant pick just one!
I did a mini shoot with Lex in our front yard to mark her first pictures with her new smile!
I love them all!
Love her new smile!
Love our front yard too!
Sunshine!
Loving her smile!
My favorite one!
Today was such a beautiful day!
We had Church and then lunch before heading to Alexis Johnson's graduation party.
Lex had her 1st DD Pledge meeting so she went to it while we were gone and Tyler hit the golf course..... so it was a win-win for all of us! :)
Twins! So happy for Alexis and excited to watch her future as a College girl! UAB here she comes!
All of the new DD Pledges. Well some of them. Some could not make it since it was such sort notice. They had a great afternoon together!
Alexis got alll the rules and things to do...so if you see a brick in any future pictures..........well...just know...it is because she is now a DD Pledge! :)
Alexis had a big day with getting her braces off...
and then an even BIGGER night!
I thought and thought about going ahead and telling her it was coming...
then Tyler and I decided that we didnt want to tell her and to let it be a complete surprise as it was supposed to be!
I didnt know when they would be coming. I just had specific instructions to be home, leave the door unlocked, etc....
Well, they didnt come until 10:30!
She was asleep and they woke her up to the singing and the cheering...........
and ALLLL the glitter, silly string, and confetti!
Yeah................when they 'took' her for their inanition night, I had a lot of cleaning up to do. :)
All the new pledges did their thing and then had breakfast at Waffle House. ha!
She didnt get home until really early in the morning but had the BEST night with tons of memories that are going to last her a lifetime!
Cant wait to see her grow and meet new friends as a pledge and then next year when she becomes a member!
They all snuck in! :) I had to unlock the door first because Alexis locked it back because she noticed it was locked. I didnt know she did that so all the girls were standing on the porch so confused because it was supposed to be unlocked! So, I got them in....told them down the hall..........
and then Alexis was awaken to this! :)
She has wanted a field trip since the beginning of school!
They were told that they were not going to be able to fit one in this year so when she was told that they would get to go to Ruby Falls............even if it is so close to being the end of the school year.........
she didnt care and was SO excited!
She was partnered with Callie, which made it even BETTER, and rode home with Mr. Ryan so she was SO happy!
She came in............and had a bag FULL of rocks............ that she bought with my money from the gift shop. Shake my head! :)
I have never been to Ruby Falls but after hearing from her how beautiful, we are going to need to make a family trip sometime!
Glad she had a great day!
Sweet friends!
Ruby Falls, so pretty!
Allll the rocks! :)
She had her 1st round of braces for a little while then they came off and then her 'main' time for braces was July 2021!
She looks so young in this picture!
FINALLY.............this girl has gotten her braces off!
She has had two other appointments where it hasnt happened so we didnt have high hopes for today.......
BUT.......
she came out with a big SMILE after the appt was over!
WHOO HOO!
She is sooo excited!
A BIG day for HER!
It was a just her and I day today! Lily was SUPER excited about today because she is currently at her Ruby Falls field trip! The girl has been soooo ready for that field trip! I was off today so Lex and I enjoyed lunch and shopping before her appt!
This is the before!
And the AFTER! Look at that gorgeous smile!
