Schoools out, Memorial Day in ATL!

These two pictures....the one above and the one below, sums up how we are feeling around here at the Law house lately! :) Alexis is one HAPPY girl that she is going to 3rd grade! I {on the other hand} wish math didnt have to keep moving on up with us! Alexis plus Me plus Math equals a horrible equation! Oh Lord, get us through the rest of the school years! :)
On another note, Alexis LOVES the picture above of herself doing a 'happy jump!' She wonders where her right foot is though and why it isnt showing up in the picture! haha!!
We celebrated Thursday night being the last school day by eating at Yamoto! The girls chose there and we celebrated!!
Lily..............was being Lily and not cooperating with taking pictures! :)
On the other side of the table....the 3rd grader and I! :)
Friday Tyler and I had a date night since Alexis didnt have school, so the girls went and spent the night with Gran. Tyler and I enjoyed dinner and a movie at home and just enjoying the fact that we were about to have a nice long and fun weekend ahead of us! :)
Saturday Ty and I got up and worked all day in the yard on our front porch. Needless to say, the front porch is coming along while Alexis and Lily enjoyed the sprinklers, boat rides, water gun fights and dinner with Gran, Ben, Pam and Richard.
Sunday we headed to Grans for a Memorial Day {early} bash and to say goodbye to Blake and Margie! Blake was offered an awesome opportunity to move to California and work for 3 years and so Margie and Blake are leaving us this week! We are all sad that they are leaving but SO excited for this opportunity for them AND..............since they will be living in San Diego, that just so happens to be a hour from Hollywood...........THAT.........I will be THERE visiting some time in the 3 years that they are there! YES....I will!!! :) :)
The girls love their Margie!....and so do I!
Lily...and her bubblegum...and some of her favorite cousins! :)
Such a beautiful day for a boat and float ride!!
We didnt get to stay long at the Memorial Day bash and saying goodbye to Blake and Margie party because.....we headed to ATL with this cool chick in the back with us to go to the Braves game and then the Chris Stapleton concert after!! {Lily was dancing during the picture!} :)
We made it to the game with plenty of time to spare! Our traditional picture by the Braves baseball!!
This game marked Alexis and Lily's 2nd Braves game! They had a blast!!
Lily sat in Meg's lap pretty much the entire game and had so much fun talking to her and doing the 'Chop' during the game! The little chick of mine is an energizer bunny for sure! She stayed up late at Grans' house and didnt have a nap on this day but made it all day..through the concert and didnt want to go to sleep when we got to Meg's apartment later on that night! She kept going...and going...and going!!
She is a stinker and was being a stinker as I was trying to take her picture! :)
All girls picture waiting for the concert to begin! The 'cool club!'  :)
The girls got a Braves bat and ball when we came into the game! They were super excited!
BUT...even MORE excited about Cotton Candy! OH MY goodness.....after Lily finished her game day dinner I told her that she could have some cotton candy. Well, I could never find the 'Cotton Candy' guy! She started getting so frustrated so I told her that I would go down and get some. Well, I got all the way down and realized I had no cash...so I had to go back up to get cash from Tyler...then when I finally found the 'Cotton Candy' guy.....I was short cash. SO....I told him...'PLEASE come with me to my seat so I can pay you and get the cotton candy!'...and he did! haha! You should have seen the look on Tyler's face when I was walking up the flight of stairs with the Cotton Candy guy following my every move with his super huge tower of cotton candy bags flying in the air!!
Though the Braves didnt beat the Marlins....we still had a great time and our seats were perfection! We were on the 3rd base side and in the shade the whole time. I just looked out at the other side's seats and wanted to cry for them because they were in the sun almost the whole game!! YUCK!
Chris came out and performed and he was awesome!!
This was my first concert in the Braves stadium and it was super cool. They cut all of the lights off and it was just sooo neat!! During some of the songs everybody got out their cell phones and waived their flashlight app! Sooo...Alexis had my phone and Lily had Meg's and they had a blast waving the phones!
This concert also marked Alexis and Lily boths 1st one! If you asked me, you couldnt ask for a better 1st concert and 1st concert experience! Alexis was just amazed with it all! She was singing her head off especially to 'Fire Away', 'You are my sunshine' and 'No One to Blame But Me' songs! Those are her favorite ones that he sings! :) :)
We had a PJ party at Meg's after the Braves game. We didnt stay up too long after we got there because we were all so tired and we knew we were going to have a big day today! This was us chicks right before leaving to do some shopping this morning in Meg's apartment. She has such a cute 'big girl' apartment! :) Alexis asked Tyler when she could have a cute apartment like Meagan! He said........when you get a job! :)
We did some shopping and then headed to have lunch at Tin Lizzys. This marked my 2nd time to eat there and it didnt disappoint again! It was so yummy! My Greek tacos were SO good and fresh!
We headed to the Atlanta Zoo after we ate lunch and Lily was SUPER excited! She has been wanting to go to the Zoo for awhile so she was super ready! They enjoyed petting and brushing the goats! {Yes, Alexis had her IPAD. She carried it some and took a CAzillion pictures on it of all the animals!} :)

LOOK at these Pandas! They cracked me up how they were laying and just relaxing away!

Lily watched King Kong the movie while she was at Gran's house so when she saw 'King Kong' she was super excited! She thought it was actually him! So...we took a picture in front of him though you cant really see him in this picture! ha!
But here he is! Lily just watched him. I just wondered how he would stay in his area because to me...he could climb right on out and be right beside us in a second! It was a little nerve wracking! :)
AND..the highlight of the trip! What Lily has been talking about seeing the entire time.....Giraffes!!!
Family picture! :)
I wanted to end the post on this picture! We went in to the 'Parakeet Home' area and so we were walking around and the girls were 'feeding' them even though none of them came up to us. Well, Meg had a bottle of water in her purse and decided to put some water in the cap of her bottle and dribble it over Alexis' head to make her think that a bird pooped on her. Sooo....Meg poured the water and stood back. Alexis {even though it took her a second to feel the water and think...hmmm, what was that} stood back and I said 'Ohh...Alexis' right when I said that...she grabs her head and starts almost a screaming voice, 'Mommy...a bird PEED on me!!!!' 'Mommy, ahhhh......a bird PEED!' She starts rubbing her head and then starts busting out crying! OH ME...to say the least! We were all laughing because you all know how dramatic Alexis is! It was SO funny! Because she was crying though...Meagan told her it was just water! I wish I had the whole thing on video because it was priceless!! :)
We had such a great trip and nice long weekend! We of course didnt forget to thank our soldiers for sacrificing to allow us to be able to celebrate our freedom and what they have done for us!
What a great weekend! :)

2nd grade has come and gone!

And so it is...

2nd grade has come and gone for Alexis!

Time has just flown and the school year is officially over today for her!

She has had an amazing teacher and just loves Mrs. Nelson!

She has really grown over this past year and I am so proud of how hard she has worked and what a leader she has become in her class!

I cant wait to see her to continue to grow and love school as she is now on to 3rd!!

Look how much she has changed over the course of a year! She was SO ready to begin her 2nd grade year on this day!
Her very first picture with Mrs.Nelson!
Ready to go!
Now, it has come and gone! Last day of 2nd grade for this one!
My two loves! They look so much older here compared to the beginning of the year!
Last picture with Mrs. Nelson! Since they are moving into their new school next year...I told Alexis to be a big helper to her today since there is nothing left to do since schooooolllls out for Summer! :)
Flashback!!................to when she was just starting Kindergarten! OH wow!!....she has grown! And...now she is finishing her 2nd grade year!

Lily's ears & Alexis' awards!

Today marked a busy day!

Lily and I headed to Birmingham for a little 'Mommy & Lily' day because she had her follow up appointment to check her ears and throat since it has been 6 weeks since she had her surgery.

She had a hearing test and passed perfectly!

She did awesome during it!

Dr. Wooley said that the hole in her ear hasnt closed up yet so we do have to go back in 8 weeks to check that and hopefully by then it will be fully healed so they dont have to do any other procedures on her to close up the hole.

We did some shopping and had a fun lunch together before heading home!

It is nice to have individual time with each of them every once in awhile!

I enjoyed today with her!

I got the 'Mom Fail' award with Alexis today though!....

I was not able to change Lily's doctor's appointment so I had to miss Alexis' end of the year program at her school.

She got several awards and I am SUPER proud of her!!

She is ready for her Awards Day! My beautiful ray of sunshine girl!
Lily and I checked out the new Trader Joe's at the Summit and it made me feel like I was a movie star in California since that is where the movie stars shop! :) Really.....it was just a grocery store! Lily loved the little buggy's!
She had fun in Barnes and Noble. She picked out a book for her...and her sister!
And.....just a little flash back for you!! Alexis in the same cute dress that Lily wore today! Both girls LOVE this dress! It was money well spent! :) Circa~2012!!
She enjoyed the cut outs and her book while we waited on the doctors and the audiologist!
We LOVE Newk's! Lily at the whole pizza, the whole pack of breadsticks and 3 cups of pickles! She told me that we NEED a Newk's in Jacksonville! ha!
Meanwhile....Alexis at her Awards Day! Her sweet class are ready to get their awards!
She looks so proud and happy! SOO super proud of her!! :)
I hate this picture didnt turn out well!! I am super proud of her! She received the 'Neatest Desk' award {not surprised} and the 'Best Handwriting' award! {her handwriting is better than most adults...and Im not joking!} :)  She received the 'Most Responsible' Award! {I thought that was awesome!!!!} She also received the A and B ribbon award and the 'All A's in Conduct' award! {Super impressed with this one since I have always told her, I dont expect all A's with grades as long as you work hard, but what you can do no matter what is listen, be respectful and do what you are told!} Way to go Alexis! :)

Swwweeeet Summertime!

Well.....

It isnt Summertime yet.......

but OH, Im so ready for it!

We are getting sneak peaks of sweet Summertime and OH, Im ready! :)

We have had a beautiful weekend with pooltime, cookouts, slides, swings, popsicles, blue skies, and more!

We had a fun day Saturday yesterday with celebrating birthdays!
First up was Adalee's birthday party! Alexis has been SOOOO excited about her party and has been talking about it since she got the invite! They had so much fun playing and swimming!
Alexis went down the slide about 10,000 times! :)
We came home and got cleaned up and then turned around and headed to the Exum's house to celebrate Mr. Scott's birthday!
The girls were soooo excited to decorate his birthday cupcakes!
To say the cupcakes had a lot of sprinkles on them is an understatement! :) Lily cracked me up because she would be some sprinkles on the cupcakes...........and then also in her mouth! She was eating more than she was decorating! :)
We had a fun night with them and Alexis and Lily love to play with McKenzie! They also had fun feeding their chickens and then after we ate, we all had fun playing the game Guesstures! It was fun!
Today was filled with Church then we had lunch with Nan, Pawpaw and Brandi before doing some errands and then heading home. These two chicks are just toooo cool for school! :)
This picture cracks me up! For some reason, Lily spotted this little boy {cute little boy...and he seemed to be her age} and literally followed him around and did everything he was doing. At first he was like running from her and kept looking back like....'OH NO, she is still behind me!' Lily thought it was hilarious! If he ran up the slide, she ran up the slide. If he ran and jumped...she ran and jumped. If he went to the swings and swang and then got off and ran...she did it. I was just watching her and prepared to step in and tell her to stop if he started crying or something! haha! Well....he eventually started thinking it was funny and so they played and played. Well, then the next thing I know, they are just sitting up there like they are in this picture and just talked and talked! I couldnt hear what they were saying but I could hear one or the other or both laugh occasionally. At one point, I did hear her tell him that she has a cat named Aubie and that she brings him up to the park with her sometimes! OH ME!! :) :) His Mom was sitting across the way and I know she had to be thinking the same thing I was! You would have thought they have known each other for years and it was just so funny to watch! :)
Before we left, the girls took their toes to the Creek! They LOVE doing this! Alexis said it was warm this time compared to a couple of weeks ago when we came. She said it was freezing then!
Toes in the Creek!
We came home and the girls played outside for awhile and enjoyed popsicles and Tickles before heading in for baths! We received a surprise visit from Nannie and Hogan so we visited with them for a little while before they left.
I would say we had a nice weekend and ready to head in to the last week of school before SUUUUMER break starts! Whoo hooo!!
