A "bear" of a time! :)

We love Saturdays!...and YES today is FOOTBALL Saturday! I may be a girl....but I love to watch football {any team}..not just Auburn on football Saturdays! I just LOVE love LOVE making my favorite "football" foods and having friends/family over to watch games! I love when it is a big rival game and you can feel the intensity!! I love yelling at the T.V. too when there is a good or bad play! :) I love when we can actually make it down to Auburn or even now if we can make it to JSU games! I just love football season! :)

These silly kids being silly and acting like a bear! :)

This morning we loaded up took advantage of our membership to the Museum with Rebecca, and her crew and Tammy, and her crew! It is nice to let the kids "run free" while we have girl time! My girls love going to the Museum and seeing all of the animals! :) We are now home just in time for afternoon naps and to gear up for the Auburn game tonight! WAR EAGLE! :)

My kinda Friday! :)

Oh yeah! My kind of Friday was today! NOTHING better than a beautiful....sunny day! It just being Friday in general! :) Knowing that I am getting to have a nice looong holiday weekend! And AUBURN football will begin tomorrow as well as Gamecock football! Fall...and Football in the air! Nothing better! :)

We have made it through our second week of Kindergarten with all smiles! Alexis got to get in the treasure box today because she had all smiley faces this week! She came home looking like "Nannie JR" again! I promise, she is taking after Nannie like a champ! :) Nannie, you should be SO proud! :) She had on layers of big, chunky gold necklaces. I am surprised Mrs. Pollard bought these! :) They were right up Alexis' alley, so I am not surprised she picked them as her prize! :)
Tyler grilled out hamburgers {which were excellent, on top of I love the grill/smoke smell in the air!} and we enjoyed the afternoon jumping on the trampoline and swinging. We loaded up and surprised Alexis with a chocolate sunday when we decided to come back inside! She was in heaven! :)

Of course we have to be decked out in Auburn gear on Fridays! :) War Eagle!...and go Gamecocks! :)

Nothing better than getting all cleaned up and comfy and watching a movie before bedtime in "Sissy's bed!" :)

And today I wear red!

Alexis is still loving Kindergarten so far! Everyday she has come home ready to see what her homework is for the night and to tell me that she didnt have an "uh oh" face! Tyler and I are going to surprise her tomorrow with going to get ice cream after dinner! I think she will be soo excited and she deserves it, because she has had a great week! :)

Lily is still doing great in her big girl bed! I think she is sleeping better! One funny thing, in her crib I put two pillows on top of each other so she could sleep more raised because her doctor suggested it so she could breathe better. Well, since I have moved her into her big girl bed, I just put one for her to sleep on and put the other pillow at the end of the bed. {just to kind of "block" her from the end of the bed} Well, the other night I went in to check on her....and she had gotten that other pillow and put it on top of the one I had for her and was asleep on both of them! She must like sleeping like that so she did it herself! :)

Today was "wear red" day! Each week Mrs. Pollard has selected a color to wear every Thursday! Today was wear red! Next week I think is wear blue! :) Alexis was soooo excited about dressing up like this! She told me that Thursday is now her favorite day! I hope it is not hard for me to come up with things for her to wear for each color...because she is determined to have every.single.thing. be the color that it is supposed to be! She didnt like this morning that she didnt have red shoes, and she told me that next week she hopes she has blue shoes to wear! {oohh me!} :) I have a feeling I am going to be struggling..especially for like "wear brown" day.....this is going to be interesting! :)

Lily is in her big girl bed!

We have officially moved Lily to her big girl bed at night! My little....little girl is SO big! :( She had to have her paci, her blanket, and her Giraffe...as well as her new bunny still but she gave up the "baby" crib like a champ! She looked soo sweet and peaceful in her big girl bed! We are going to keep the crib for a little while....just in case, but honestly I am ready for it to go! :)

Laying down to go to sleep. She still MUST have her paci...and for sure her giraffe, well the tail of the giraffe! She still rubs that Giraffe's tail against her face! :)

I went in to check on her about 20 minutes later....and she was out! :)

Spending time with the Bride!

The Bride..Misty, invited her bridal party { and Brandon's mom and her mom} to go with her to the Southern Woman's Bridal Show at the BJCC! I needed to run some errands...so I took off early to Birmingham and then met everybody there. It was nice to have a "little" get~a~way and do some shopping without two little girl tag alongs! :) Daddy did a great job watching the girls while I was gone! They had a great Daddy/daughter day! :) I had a great time with Misty and Kelly sampling the food and watching Misty do her thing!! :) I am just sooo excited for Misty! :)

The girls before they left with Daddy to go to Church!

Misty and some of her bridesmaids! :)

Soakin' up the last days of Summer....

Ohh....sweet Summer! I love Summer! It is coming to an end quickly! We have enjoyed our Summer...and we are trying to soak up the last days left! We have had a great weekend so far! Last night we enjoyed {well Tyler not so much} eating at Ruby Tuesdays with Ben and Gran. We did a little shopping before we headed home just in time for bedtime! :)

Today, we picked up Alexis' friend Carli and us girls headed to the Community Center pool to swim! We met the Grogans and enjoyed the afternoon swimming! Tyler met us later after him and Pawpaw finished their golf tournament at Cane Creek!....and they WON! This is the second tournament that they have won out there! :) We met Nan and Pawpaw and had Pizza hut this afternoon after our fun day of swimming! Great ending to a fun day! :)

Everybody decided to take a break from swimming and have a snack! :)

And the "grown~ups" had to take a break too! :)

It is Friday!

We have made it through one busy week! WHOO HOOO! My first week of work where I have actually been doing things that involves Clinicals has been great! I have had a lot to do, but it has kept me busy and I have learned alot! :) I am for sure getting my "feet wet!"

Alexis has had a great week! {I am sooo thankful!} I asked Mrs. Pollard this morning how Alexis has been this week. She told me that Alexis is one "peppy, happy, smiling" girl! :) That she is constantly singing and humming....all day! :) Then she said, and she can be loud! haha! Well, she summed Alexis up perfectly!! :) Could not have described her better! :) We are for sure going to have to work with her to not be so "loud"...but Tyler says she gets in honestly straight from me.....so I dont know if there will ever be any changing that! :) She did say that Alexis is a good girl and this week she has not gotten in trouble any except for Mrs. Pollard telling her one day to not be as loud. One "uh oh" face {which doesnt mean you are necessarily in trouble}...just a warning and if gotten onto again then she would get a "straight face."  Lucky for her...she didnt get another warning to get a straight face. {Because then she would have been in BIG trouble at home} But, she listened her Mrs. Pollard's warning and lowered her voice. {from singing!} :) Overall, I was very pleased with her report to me about Alexis! I am very proud of my little Kindergartner! :)

Alexis' 3rd day of Kindergarten {Even though it was Thursday so should have been her fourth..she just didnt go Tuesday!}
On her way to school!

It's Friday! She made it through her first week!! :)

Day 2 and 3....of Alexis' first week of Kindergarten!

Alexis has had a great week so far with her first week of Kindergarten almost over! :) I am sooo thankful that she is loving every minute of it! Every day she has came home so excited to tell me about her day! {I hope she always keeps that enthusiasm!}

On Tuesday Alexis did not have school because they divided up the class so Mrs. Pollard could have more "one on one" time with each child. So Alexis went Monday and then did not have to go Tuesday. Since she didnt have school.....she got to have Pawpaw day! Well, Nan wanted to come...so she joined them! They had a great day watching Smurfs 2 and shopping! :) Alexis had a great "day off"....but she told me that she was excited to go back to school!

Wednesday was the "official" first day! Alexis' whole class {all 18 of them} got to meet each other! :) Alexis had a great day! She had "homework" which consisted of showing me what days start "color day." Starting next week...each Thursday is "color day"...where they have to wear an entire outfit of whatever color it is! Hearing Alexis explain this to me was pretty precious!...and she is just so excited about getting to do this! :)

I was SO proud of her because she obviously listened really well to the instructions Mrs. Pollard gave her for what to do when she comes into the classroom in the mornings.
She took her book bag off....and hung it up in her cubby!
Then she took out her daily folder from her book bag and put it in the crate
and...then headed over to the "Not here...Here" chart and found her name and put it on her # on the "Im here" side! :)
Then she found her seat and sat down! :)

SUCH a big girl! :) She took her name and put it on her # assigned to her to show she was here! :)
2nd Day of Kindergarten! :)

It's not chocolate.........

And...it's not chocolate......
Let me just say...this is for future reference....to let Lily know, that as amazed as I am....this did happen...and she has to be the world's biggest "Pooping" Queen! :)

I will not go into all...and there are A LOT, too many.....stories of Lily and my experiences I have had with her! I am afraid most times when I get her out of bed because I just dont ever know what "scene" I will be faced with! I have been horrified in Wal~Mart with having to strip Lily down and bathe her in the bathroom, and there have been many of outfits that have just been trashed because I refuse to get all of the stains out...the stories go on and on........

When Alexis was born/little......and even now, she was just not a "pooper." When she was little it really felt like I never changed a dirty diaper...ever...because when it was her "time to go"....it would be at school..or she just wouldnt need to "go" when she was home with us!

With me being so lucky with Alexis...I always said that my next child would "make me pay" for the way I was with Alexis! {in that "department"} {secretly hoping that I would be "lucky" again with getting away with having to not change many "dirty" diapers}     OH MY, Lily has made me pay......oh Lily, has made me pay!! :)

Spreading her wings.....

Today was the day! It still seems like yesterday when I brought Alexis home from the hospital, yet today she spread her wings and flew off into Kindergarten. I just couldnt be sad or anything....and I didnt even cry...because she was just SO happy that she was going to "big girl" school! Alexis has been waiting for this day for a very long time!

This afternoon I asked her what she did/learned today? She says "Mommy, I took a nap...and I didnt get to play outside today because we were busy!" And so I say.."Well, did you say your ABC's?" And she says "Oh yes, I did do that too!" So....clearly I can tell what is of most importance to her! :) ......nap time and P.E. :)

She is just SO big to me....but next to her friends....she is SO tiny! :)

 About to go into Kindergarten!
She found her seat!...she was sooo excited!

Mrs. Pollard said Alexis would have "homework" pretty much every night! Well, this is her very first homework sheet! :)

Getting ready for the big day!

We have been preparing for the big day tomorrow all day today! The day that I thought would be forever before it was actually here....Alexis' first day of Kindergarten! I have been getting her book bag ready, getting her first day of school outfit ready, painted her toe~nails, got her P.E. shoes together, going over her address, my telephone number, her ABC's and practicing her lunch code. I think we are ready! I know Alexis is ready!

I got out Alexis' old panties this afternoon and asked Lily if she wanted to wear "big girl" panties? She was sooo excited when she put them on! {Yes, she put them on all by herself!} Her little bottom in them are just precious! So far..........no accidents in them! {I have my fingers crossed!} :) I dont remember Alexis' little bottom being that small when she wore the same panties! :( Alexis had a couple of accidents before she was fully trained in them...so we shall see how Lily does since she isnt in her pull~ups anymore! :)

Tyler switched out our flags today....so now our Auburn flag is flying high! It is almost that time!! :)

We had Church this morning and then Nan and Pawpaw came over and we ate hotdogs! Tyler and Pawpaw had a ping pong marathon!...........and I was hoping a certain someone beat the other certain someone but I am not sure that happened! :) We are having a nice and relaxing afternoon before it is bedtime and then the BIG day! :)

Sweet big girl!
Sweet sisters! Lily had to hold all of her toys in order to take a picture!

"Diva Fashionista" in the making! She wore all of these braclets because she said they all matched her dress! :)

Enjoying this cold day even with it cold!

For it to be the middle of August, I just can not get over the weather! We have had a really wet and not very hot Summer..........but now that it is moving into Fall, it has been yuck! Yesterday was just really overcast and cool and today has been the same but alot cooler! We have hit record lows! I do NOT like the cold and this weather is just not working for me! :) Fall weather in Alabama is usually perfect weather so I hope that the weather takes a better turn coming up! :)

This morning we hit our usual Saturday morning spot...Jacks for some good breakfast before running some errands and getting my car detailed! {which has been long overdue!} This afternoon we have enjoyed just relaxing at home and watching movies and playing!

Alexis has asked me...I am sure..... 10 billion, cazillion times when her friends are coming over? We had Tammy and Dennis {which are Nick and Alexis' parents} {Dennis couldnt come because he was working} :( and Rebecca and Matt {which are Laynee and Walker's parents} over to cook out tonight! Alexis would not stop asking me when they are going to be here! It drove me crazy! :) We enjoyed having them over and talking {and kids playing}...and us grown~ups also played a round of Pictionary! {Us girls "whooped" the guys!!} WHOO HOO! :)

These kiddos played so well and had so much fun! They played everything under the sun before it was time for them to leave! :)
On top of enjoying an ice cream......as well as a Popsicle break! :)

What a week!

We have had a BIG week this week! A lot going on...and we are all worn out! The next couple of weeks ahead are going to be just as big and busy too! A lot of memory making...which I love! :)

We have not been home really any this whole week. Tonight is the first night that we dont have anything going on. On top of the fact that today we are a record low! It has been cold today! It has been 68 to 70 degrees today! I think we are going from Summer to straight Winter! I have been just dying to get home all day and put on a nice comfy sweatshirt and warm socks!

Last night we had Alexis' Kindergarten Orientation where we learned the "rules" of Kindergarten. Well, Alexis found out that she can now wear "cute" sandals, flip flops etc.....and she is SOOOO excited! I think it made her year when I told her that she doesnt have to wear socks and shoes all the time anymore! When she was in daycare as well as Summer Camp...she has worn socks and shoes because they played so much, on top of the fact that I didnt want her to ruin her "nice" shoes/sandals. Well, Mrs. Pollard said that if the child could put their shoes on all by their self as well as could tie their own shoes...then they could bring tennis shoes and socks for P.E. only! It made Alexis' day for sure! :) I am glad now because I dont have to hear her beg me to wear "cute sandals" every morning anymore! :)

Tonight marked the last day of Summer Camp for Alexis! She has really loved Summer Camp, which is a huge relief because next year I will now know she likes it there for when she has to have a place to go since Tyler and I both work! This Summer she still could go back to daycare if she didnt like it but next year she will be too old to go to daycares! :( So I am glad she is happy there! They had a "End of the Summer" swim/hotdog party but we decided not to go because it just has been a long week and Alexis is sooooo tired, as well as the rest of us too! {On top of the fact that it is just so yucky outside!}

Now that I take the girls in the morning....they have time to watch a little Mickey Mouse before we have to leave. It is soooo cute to me to see them in the living room sitting together all curled up! It makes me smile! :)  {Lily didnt want to take her eyes off of Mickey!} :) it has become her favorite cartoon!

This is a really bad picture...but I wanted to put it just so it would show that she went! Thursday Alexis and the rest of the Summer Camp crew went to Birmingham to "Airwalk." It is a huge place with all kinds of jump things, trampolines, and big foam pits to jump in! Alexis had a great time...but it WORE her out!! :)

my 23 month big girl!

I just cant get over that Lily is almost 2! This week marks 23 months of Lily being in this world with us! I loose track that she is actually the age she is because she just acts so much older than she really is!

She is talking in sentences now, and just catches on to things so easily! She basically decides when she is ready for something...for example....using a fork, or potty training and just does it herself! This week she has started using the potty and telling me when she needs to go. She has not pooped yet...but I know that will be coming soon! I am just SO proud of her! :)

She loves to hum songs. She knows the words if I sing along with her....for example....to "Twinkle twinkle" or the "A B C" song....but when she is doing it on her own....she hums it! It is soooo sweet to hear her!

She can count to 5 now as well as she knows some colors! She knows pretty much any animal I ask her about as well as she tells me the sound they make!

She is loving Mickey Mouse now! I was wondering when that was coming because at this age Alexis loved it. Lily didnt seem to interested in it until here recently. Now she asks to watch Mickey more than Bolt! :)

She is still stuck to her paci....we are trying! :)

Happy 23 months big girl!

My beautiful little girl! She has my heart! :)

She is SO SO grown...she wants to do everything by herself!

Such a happy girl! She gets so excited for herself when she does things! Like here she is so happy she put her shoes on all by herself!

Time slow down!

Where has the time gone? My two girls are just growing up so fast and it just doesnt seem like it is that time already to have a Kindergartner.....or to have a toddler who is speaking in sentences now as well as telling me that she needs to potty! :)

We had a BIG as well as an emotional day for me! My sweet little baby is no where near being a baby anymore. She met her Kindergarten teacher tonight! It just doesnt seem real that it is that time already for her to go to school! It makes my heart smile and yet sad at the same time to know that time is just speeding away with my little girl! She was so excited tonight to see her friends, see who was in her class, see her new classroom and meet her teacher!

Mrs. Pollard was so nice! I have heard great things about her, so I am excited about the year! Alexis was SO excited when she saw that her friend Leeland and Avigail were both in her class! Not to mention her friend Carli, Nick, and Dorian were across the hall! I love how she is making sweet little friends and I am SO excited to watch them grow as friends together!

I am excited about this big chapter starting for Alexis! I cant wait to see her shine and grow throughout her Kindergarten year!

And.....for Lily! Tonight when we got home, Lily came running up to me and said "potty, Mommy" so I took her into the bathroom...............and she went! She sat on the toilet for a minute...and I thought it was going to be like the other times where she would then just try to get down. Well, I saw her face concentrating.....and next thing I know.........she is going! She was SO SO SO excited for herself!! I cheered for her and she just laughed and had the biggest smile on her face because she knew what she had just done and she was SO happy for herself! Well shall see if that was just a "fluke" or if this will continue!! BUT I  was sooooo happy she went! :)

So, yes this afternoon was a little emotional for me as I put my two little girls to bed....because they are getting further and further away from being "little" everyday!  I just always want to cherish the little and big things that they are doing/experiencing as they are still "little" to me!

Oh my gracious is all I can say when I picked Alexis up from Summer Camp today!! This week is the last week of Summer Camp because school starts next week so they have been doing fun and different things because of it being the last week. Well TODAY of all days....they had what they called a "color run". They had sooo much fun...but it was SO SO SO messy. Alexis was pink, yellow, and orange from head to toe with colored paint stuff. Literally her hair to her toes were colored! I was soo surprised to see her! Thank goodness I had time to rush home and give her a bath before Kindergarten Orientation even though I just couldnt get it all out of her hair despite scrubbing it for 15 minutes! I got alot of questions from everyone asking what happened to her hair at Orientation...and they didnt even see how it was BEFORE I scrubbed it! :)

She is o-FISH-ally a Kindergartner!!

Avi is in her class! Alexis was so happy when she found out!

Sweet Leeland is in her class too!!

And.....this is Mrs. Pollard!
I forewarned her about how Alexis loves to sing ALL the time...but I dont think Mrs. Pollard knows what she is getting herself into with Alexis! :)
I am so excited for the upcoming year with her being Alexis' teacher!

I hope you dance....

It is that time again! Ballet started today! This year will mark Alexis' third year of dancing! :) She has loved...LOVED every minute of taking dance throughout the years! {unlike her playing tee~ball!} :) She is at a new dance place this year called World of Performing Arts in Oxford. It is the same place I took when I was her age! :)

I didnt get a picture of her in her new leotard...but she looked SO grown up! I will remember to take a picture next week! :)

She is just SO excited that her really good friend Carli is in her class with her! They had such a great time together! We went to dinner with Carli and her mom after dance and by the time we got home, it was perfect timing for bath and bed! :) I cant wait to watch her dance this year and have her third recital! :)

She got her all decked out for dance today! She...of course...had to pick out the MOST "sparkly" leotard they had! :)

Just look at the back!..........it has "jewels" on it...per Alexis! ha! It looks really cute on her...especially with her tan little back!

The last hurrah!......

Tyler and I have been looking forward to this weekend for about a month now! We loaded up and headed down to our favorite place....Auburn! We got up very early yesterday and dropped Lily off at Nan and Pawpaw's and the rest of us took off to Auburn.

We enjoyed swimming and enjoying the day at Grand National Golf Resort! We did absolutely nothing ALL day but lay under the Cabana, swim and get a suntan! It was SO relaxing! I didnt do a thing all day! So, yes I am behind on blogging so I have several new posts below that I did because I had to play catch up! :)

Yesterday afternoon we came in from swimming our hearts out and cleaned up before heading to eat at my ALL time favorite spot..Amsterdam Cafe. We did alot of shopping after we ate and then rode around and saw all the new things and places on Campus before meeting up with Mallory at her new house! It made my night to get to see her and look around her cute little house with all of her roommates! We had a great time catching up with her and meeting all of her friends! I am just SO happy that Mallory loves Auburn as much as I do! I am so thankful that she is happy there and making memories that will last a lifetime!

We got up early this morning and enjoyed the Hotel's breakfast buffet before hitting the pool again! We stayed as long as we could {before we were all just so tired that we couldnt move :) } and then headed back home! We missed Lily, but I know she had a great time with Nan and Pawpaw!

It was a much needed....and perfect time for a great trip to get us nice and rested because starting tomorrow we are going to be VERY busy for the next several weeks! A lot of good stuff coming up for us in the next couple of weeks! :) This is our "last hurrah" before school starts...and the Summer is over! :(

This sassy girl had sooo much fun swimming! She has mastered swimming above the water and under too! She didnt wear her "floatie" any! She was a little fish the whole time! I am soo proud of her and how far she has come just this Summer with swimming!

OH she cracks me up! She came up to me and I just HAD to take a picture of her! She had on her goggles and her sunglasses....and her hat! She said she needed all of this on so she could swim under water better.....and to see better under water! It was toooo funny!

It made my night to get to visit Mallory! Just last weekend she moved back down to Auburn for Fall Semester, so I was so glad we got to see her cute house! They have it decorated SO cute! All of her friends were so nice too! I was so happy to see her! :)

One thing I wanted to add for my sake! We have been working with Alexis to say "big girl prayers" at night now. Because before she would just do her "standard prayer" she always has said from the time she could talk which is "Dear God...thank you for this day, thank you for Mommy, Daddy, Lexi, Lily and Daddy...Amen" :) She has said this same prayer.....same words...same order, since she was about 2! It has been precious hearing her say this prayer! We dont know why she chose the order of people like she did...or why she thinks Daddy needs to be mentioned more than one time...but it makes my heart smile to hear her pray.

Well I told her that now she is 5 so she needs to do a "big girl" prayer where she prays for things that are on her mind etc.
Well tonight, she said "Dear God, thank you for this day...please be with the birds and the flowers and thank you for my brain!"
It was sooo funny, but so sweet that she is trying to do a "big girl" prayer! She is working on it and she will get better! :)
