On Saturday us girls loaded up and took off on a fun adventure to LA!
We had the BEST time!
We had no agenda..............didnt really know where we were going........popped off on one exit...and then off on the next just stopping and seeing whatever we came up on!
It was fabulous!
Thank goodness we rented a car because Blake just suggested us getting taxis and ubers. Umm....no...we would have been miserable and not been able to see and do all that we did!
We had our first stop at Laguna Beach! We had breakfast and drove around looking at all the sights there!
We stopped at their beach and saw how all the fancy homes were lined along the beach.
Several observations there:
1. Laguna is beautiful
2. It was surprisingly cold. Yes, it was early in the morning....so maybe that is why but overall California was just cold/chilly in general the whole time we were there. Granted Tyler said Jacksonville was colder than normal while we were gone...so there is that too.
3. Very expensive homes..........just stacked on top of each other all the way up mountains/hills! Crazy!
4. I will take Panama City Beach Florida over Laguna beach any day. Laguna...and really all the beaches we saw...were dark sanded, a lot of seaweed and rocks. The water was ice cold too.
5. Due to the coldness of the water, it makes a more hazy and cloudy film around where the beaches are so it isnt very sunny...but more chilly...but it will deceive you thinking you are not getting sunburned! Have to watch out for that!
It was a cute little town!
Homes on top of homes!
The beach was just not too pretty to me!
After Laguna Beach we headed on to Los Angeles! Then we did the Hollywood sign, Rodeo drive, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Roosevelt Hotel, Beverly Hills, Calabasas, Malibu, Santa Monica and SO much more!
The Hollywood Walk of Fame!
Observations here:
1. I thought it would be 'fancier' What I mean by that. It was just on the side of the street. So many homeless people. It smelled like urine and we had to step over a good bit of trash. It was not 'respected' at all like I felt it should be.
2. Hollywood BLVD was not what it seems from TV. I had always thought it was much different that it was in real life.
We saw a ton of stars! It was fun to pull their pictures up from where they were having it done to correspond with what we were seeing!
Two girls strolling down Hollywood BLVD with a treat!
The Roosevelt Hotel was SO fancy! You could just feel the 'old Hollywood' when you walked in! The very first Academy Awards took place here and every famous person you can think of have stayed here or been in there! SO cool!
Just glamorous! Being in here is what I felt Hollywood should feel and be. I hate to say it...but this was pretty much the only place/time that it felt like what I thought it was!
Katy Perry's star was on the sidewalk under this theater!
Alllll the palm trees! I loved seeing allll the rows! Up next, the Hollywood sign!
